Great diner food and staff is amazing! Lumberjack, Philly cheesesteak, and French dip sandwich are all fantastic options.

The Pepsi soft drink is a must! It was one of the best we’ve had in a really long time.

My wife had the Fisherman's Platter and I had the pizza burger. Both were quite delicious! Dessert was a Napoleon and a piece of cheesecake. Again, very good. And there's beer, too!

Great NJ diner experience! My family and I (4 adults, 2 teens, 1 toddler) came in Black Friday for a quick bite to eat and Scotchwood Diner met our expectations and beyond! Ample selection for any eater and easily could accommodate a large party with kids without issue. We got many items, including those pictured: Mediterranean omelette, chicken souvlaki platter, and a big salad with chicken. All were delicious and affordable for a great diner experience. Stop by!

Love this place! There's always a homey vibe here. The service is always nice and I always enjoy any meal that I may have.

Great dining experience with our granddaughters, who love butter and jelly in little packets with toast and a side of bacon. Excellent waitress!

My colleagues and I came here for lunch, and I must say that this diner went above and beyond my expectations!

Maryann our waitress was the epitome of hospitality. She took exceptional care of us in every way.
I ordered the lunch special Panini and Soup with a side of French fries, and a desert of Strawberry Ice cream.
The soup was a delicious Lobster Bisque cooked to perfection. I had to withhold myself from finishing the soup at the risk of wasting my main course.

The main course arrived shortly afterwards and oh my, what a beauty! The French fries were golden and crispy, and the Panini was ever so delicious 😋! I must say, after 10 years of living across Europe, Asia and Africa, this was the best restaurants meal I've had since my return to the US. It felt as though we were in a 5-Star restaurant!

I most certainly recommend this diner to anyone who visits Scotch Plains, New Jersey .

1st visit definitely won't be my last one .Great food ! Served hot and fast it was delicious,Diane was my waitress she was Excellent .This place has a great old school retro vibe about it from the employees & Decor awesome place you have to experience it .

Quintessential NJ diner. Menu with everything you can imagine, open all the time, plenty of space. Juke boxes in most booths, counter service, and bottomless coffee. Always a go to, always solid food.

This is a hidden gem. Had plans to go somewhere else but they had a long wait so we just happened to see this on the way back to our hotel. The menu was huge and had something for everyone. Food came out quickly and tasted great. I got the Reuben and it did not disappoint. Our waitress was attentive and pleasant to talk to, never let our drinks run out, and checked on us many times. If I'm ever up on this way in NJ again I will definitely be back.

Home. Good atmosphere. Many menu options. Good service. Jukeboxes don't work.

This is a very nice family friendly diner with excellent breakfast, lunch and dinners. The staff is always friendly and helpful. There are a lot of nice store made cakes and desserts, perfect for take home.

I have many fond memories of Scotchwood Diner. When I lived in NJ, I used to come often. My family still comes here till this day. I was visiting (I live out of state) my family and had a late dinner. It's just like I remembered. It's like having a quality home-cooked meal. Where I live now, there aren't any diners. I hope to visit again soon on my next trip home!

We are passing by the town ,my son was mad hungry…we ask someone and referred to diner …best food ever..super clean and service was the best…I’ll recommend it to any one likes good food and great service 100% ..GREATEST DINER!!!

Definitely one of the better diners around.

The portion sizes are big, even by generous diner standards. Everything is of a high quality. Service is quick and the waitresses are always friendly plus chatty.

Located on Route 22, this restaurant is easy to get to.

Pricing is reasonable.

Great local spot... Old school NJ Dinner... It used to be 24 hours and now it barely makes 2100 :(

I had a very nice waiter who was super friendly and attentive to us! I didn't get their name but they had a dope tattoo sleeve. Someone at our table spilled a glass of water at some point and our waiter was instantly on the case, moving my friend's keys out of the danger zone and promptly pulling napkins out of thin air to clean up the damage. 10/10 waiter they made it a great experience. Also the food was great 👍

The food was good ... it was diner food. But we had a waitress, who was 82 years old and FABULOUS. I would go back there just for her. She was so funny, and on the ball. I appreciated her
