Where to begin with Roman's Cafe? I absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was comfortable and quiet. The decor was lots of fun, with classic diner feel and lots of photos western cinema and pop culture before the 1960s. You will also fine lots of snarky and playful signs that denounce rude behavior and ask hippies to enter in the back. They also support law enforcement.

The food was excellent. The steak and eggs were cooked to perfection and the buttermilk pancakes make the chain diners look and taste like cardboard. While not close to where I usually am, I want to come back.

Hands down best breakfast I’ve had in Minneapolis or surrounding areas. I ordered the big Johnson, I’m usually not a big hash brown guy but they were fantastic and the sausage was on point. My girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed her omelette and we both split the pancakes and were fighting each other off for the last bite hahaha. Will surely be back again soon, loved all the decor on the walls and the old school feel.

Food is fantastic!! The everything omelette was flavorful and not too filling!! The blueberry pancakes are amazing…not too cakey! The bacon was nice and thick and great tasting!! The sausage with the big Johnson meal was very flavorful and juicy!! Great coffee and awesome service!! I’d definitely go back!!

Best bacon pancakes I've ever had. Classic diner experience, very chill and kinda cozy. Damn fine cup of coffee.

Susan was a phenomenal waitress. She works hard and always had a smile. She was so friendly to the child that was with us and paid attention to see to it that she was happy, brought her a princess coloring book to use. So kind. The food is great. What you’d hope to expect from a Midwest, local cafe. The portions were large. The flavors were tasty. Best crispy hash browns. Service wasn’t only friendly but fast too. We will visit again when we are in the area. Thanks Roman for making us a great meal!

Great place, very small place. But the food is great. Get the pancakes. And the Big Johnson is a good value

Street parking. Usually busy. Good breakfasts. Great service and prices. Been here many times. Coffee very good-always kept full. Lots of old Hollywood pictures on the walls. There’re looking for a new location.

Have been twice so far since recently moving. Originally came after looking for good, hearty breakfast and this hit the spot. The service is always welcoming and friendly, and the atmosphere is small and very home-y, in a good way. You feel like you're eating in someone's kitchen or living room rather than a restaurant. This is the home of the "Big Johnson" and it doesn't disappoint. Looking forward to coming back for more good breakfast. Just be aware, they close rather early for a breakfast spot that's open on a weekend, they close at 1230PM.

Coming now fairly regularly on the weekends and always receive fast and friendly service. Their meats and pancakes are great breakfast accouterments!

Fun decor, super friendly help, good comfort food. Not often one gets reply that a menu item was described as "good, but would probably not try again." Felt like a welcome stranger in a home full of people who know each other.

Fantastic, their pancakes are flatter and wetter vs the fluffy pancakes most places have, everything is amazing. Definitely one of my top few breakfast places in the metro.

We found a new family favorite for breakfast. Great diner food. Plenty to eat with friendly staff. They actually made the hashbrowns crispy. Which is crazy because so many places seem to have no idea how to actually cook hashbrowns. Gotta love it.
Love Roman's! We drive all the way from Rosemount because it seems that if you go south of the cities no one can cook and the only spices they know are salt and pepper...

This is one of those hole-in-the-wall places that doesn't look good on the outside, but serves really good food on the inside. I had the meat and potato omelet and it was bursting with bacon, sausage, ham and hash browns. It also came with a pancake (or toast) all which were excellent. The waitress was attentive, we didn't have to wait to get the coffee refilled. It's a pretty small restaurant, there isn't a lot of seating so you may have to wait if you come later in the morning as this place fills up fast. Would definitely come back if in the area.

A wonderful place. Found it on Google maps, and we didn't regret going. Really good prices, for lots of good food.

Ordered an omelet and pancakes from here. I'm not usually a pancake person but decided to give them a try and I have to say, they were great! In terms of size the pancake was quite large which is great if youre really hungry or have kids to feed. The omelet was also pretty big and packed with flavor. Just on flavor of the food alone this place deserves the 5 stars but in portion size and overall quality it would have to be a 10 for me.
