I came here last night with two of my friends and we were very impressed with the customer service here. I've always seen this place, but never stopped in but I've been craving authentic Italian food. We made reservations for 5:30p which was clutch because after 6:15p on a Saturday this place was packed! To start the customer service was phenomenal and I was impressed with how the waiters remember all the specials because there were so many. They also checked on our table often to see if there was anything we needed. Now for the food, they have a Flatbread that comes with a red sauce to start which is very appetizing. We got the fig salad which was perfect to start along with the steamed clams. For my entree I got the Ravioli and I'm glad I did. Overall this meal was so satisfying that of course I wanted more. Happy most of all with the service. Thanks for having us and thanks for an amazing 1st time experience at your restaurant. I'll definitely come back soon.

Trattoria is a neighborhood gem and a stalwart that is just right to celebrate special occasions. My husband and I have always had delightful experiences dining there. Impressive service (it’s impressive how the staff remembers and recites the menus and specials!), delectable dishes and lovely environment. Their homemade pastas are fantastic. Go for their wine recommendations and you will not be disappointed!

We loved every dish, they are serving up a mix of traditional and modern regional Italian cuisine. The food and service were both great, here are the must try dishes:

🫒 Olive Oil Cake with olive oil gelato

No doubt it’s the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to! We ordered some starters and two pasta, although one of the pastas was not quite satisfied but we really enjoyed it. Price wise, it tasted wonderful but it’s not cheap either. Definitely want to revisit once we have chance.

I love this place. The food tastes amazing and service was incredible. Very clean. We went on a Sunday around 1pm and not a lot of people were there which was nice. I got the veal rigatoni. It was divine. Portion was good size.

We were in NY for a family event and wanted to try and Italian restaurant in the neighborhood that I grew up in. I researched the reviews of Trattoria L'incontro and decided to try. Oh my, what an exceptional dining experience.
Authentic Italian food that is simply the best . Greeted warmly for our reservation and seated. Our Waiter and owner helped us select a wine from Tuscany and described the specials which were extensive. Decided to go with the squash blossom appetizer which was like how I grew up, a special fig salad and pasta as our main course.
Absolutely amazing !! My wife and I said it could be the best Italian meal we have ever had including in Italy.
Highly recommend !

Excellent ambience and exceptional food and service. Old world Italian cousin. We had Burrata, Pasta Alfredo, Lemon Veal and Stuffed Pork Chops, and for dessert a delicious Pistachio Creme Brûlée.

Its so good so so so good. They have a bunch of specials that change pretty frequently so pay attention to the server when they tell you!!!! Seriously its like they list a whole other menu. The bread and dip that comes for the table is also delicious.

Amazing service and great food! The salads were a great size to share and the pizza was thin and perfect to fold and enjoy. Great flavors and a perfect amount of cheese. Delicious! The staff was so friendly and helpful. My one daughter was chilly and one of the guys brought her a tablecloth to use as a blanket. Warmed my heart.

Overall:
If you are looking for a more modern twist on Italian food this is NOT the place for it. Here you will find traditional flavors, simple and straight to the point.

Service:
Amazing. Staff is attentive and checking on you. Very knowledgeable of what they are serving. Floor manager walking around making sure everyone is properly being managed. Great service no complaints

Food:
Traditional and straight to the point. I was going in expecting modernized flavors but that wasn't the point of the place. Family style flavors. If you catch my drift.

Price:
Pretty standard nothing to complain about.

Verdict:
I would go again but I'm more of a person that loves modernized flavors but nothing wrong with going back to the fundamentals of cooking.

We recently had our daughters baptism dinner at Trattoria L'incontra and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our event was enjoyable and accommodative. Alfredo and his team were extremely friendly and attentive to every detail. During our meal, Chef Rocco came out to ask how everything was and even brought us another pasta course to try on the house. The food was truly exceptional. Each dish was presented beautifully and tasted even better. Overall, I highly recommend Trattoria L'incontra to anyone looking for a great dining experience. The combination of excellent service and delicious food makes it a standout restaurant in the area. I can't wait to go back!

The food was so delicious and authentic, plus the service was great, everyone was very attentive. The burrata with prosciutto was so light and creamy. The veal tortellini was amazing, I even ordered one to go because it was so good and still tasted good the next day! The egg yolk ravioli with truffle was perfect, the egg was runny and oozed perfection. The pistachio crème brûlée was amazing, still dreaming about it!

Absolutely beautiful meal food was next level.

Second time here and it was just as great as the first time. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations. It's always good when you leave a restaurant stuffed! See you guys soon, we'll be back!

First time here and it was a delight! The hostess was friendly. Our waiter Alfredo was attentive and detailed. Our meals were rigatoni with ground veal, stuffed pork chop and side of vegetables. All delicious and fresh. They refill you on focaccia bread without need to ask for it 😁. Chef came out to say hello and gave us a little treat, frozen espresso. Definitely returning! Thank you 👏🏽

If you want a romantic "Lady and the Tramp" meatball-sharing experience, this is the place to be. Everything from the music and lighting to the staff and food was perfect. Our waiter amazed us with his extensive recollection of the day's specials, we couldn't believe he remembered all those dishes!

Updated: second visit was better than the first. Original: The quality of the food was above expectation and exceeded the prices. Rocco was a gracious host as he left the kitchen to visit all the tables. We will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone looking for quality Italian cuisine.

An amazing experience and the most delicious food. The waitstaff is knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations. The food is phenomenal, there is no better in Astoria. If you go once, you will definitely return over and over again.

Place was packed but superb amazing food! I suggest to book ahead as it was crowded when we were there.
