Absolutely fantastic food. Fresh chicken served daily.
For first-timers, I recommend trying the House Rub 6-Piece wings. The House rub is a unique blend of different spices & peppers with a very subtle, sweet hint of bbq - not too sweet or salty, just right. The food was cooked pretty quickly. Ranch sauce has a natural homemade taste & texture as well.

We were on a bike ride on the nearby rail trail and decided to stop and explore for a lunch spot. We were so happy with what we found! We realized we didn't have our wallets, as this wasn't a planned stop and we were able to pay (after ordering) with Google Pay, they were so patient! We ordered the Thai Chicken Salad and the Grilled Chicken Avocado Wrap w a side of Coleslaw. We are notoriously picky about slaw and it's mayo/acid/s&p levels, this was perfect!! We were so happy and absolutely recommend not just the slaw but the salad and wrap.
In addition, my Husband had a great point, this restaurant makes itself seem like it's just a Fried Chicken spot (which of course we need to try) but he said, "they should use the word gourmet to describe themselves". I absolutely agree, it's far more than a chicken spot, we weren't sure what to expect from the exterior but they surpassed our expectations and will recommend it to everyone!!

Delicious! We ordered the 12pc fried chicken with Mac and potato wedges. So good!! We opted for the corn bread and that was my favorite. Hot corn bread muffins that had a crunchy outer layer. This will def be our new go to before TKD. Also the girls working the front were very friendly and helpful.

Was visiting town stopped by to get dinner for the first time. Got large grill chicken salad... was unbelievably good 👌Highly recommend...

Let me start with the staff. The front ladies are very friendly. Prices are reasonable. Since I found this place 3 days ago I ordered twice. I had the chicken fajita wrap 🤤 and the shrimp and arugula, but with chicken. ( I don't eat seafood). my boyfriend had a sandwich with avocado on it and the taco salad. Everything was so good!! You can't go wrong in this place must try!

The girl up front is super sweet, all the food is high quality and delicious. My go too lunch spot.

I stop here all of the time when I am biking the Putnam Country trail. The food is always good and tastes fresh. The grilled chicken salad is very and the chicken is grilled just right. Other items such as the wings and the fried chicken sandwich are equally good. It should also be mentioned that the staff is very friendly and that the restaurant is super clean. Good local joint.

The food here is always so fresh. Cornbread is amazing. Everything stays good on our 20 minute drive home.

Great food. Fair prices (the boneless wings should be named boneless CHUNKS. They are not small ! ) Great amount of food for the price... VERY clean interior and OUTSTANDING staff.. I drove 48 miles (one way)and will return . It was worth it...

Great local place with great food at a fair price. I have taken out from here many, many times and have never been disappointed. Food is always fresh and hot. The inside is clean and well staffed. With other chicken places in the neighborhood this one is my favorite.

Just had their fried chicken meal. No more KFC ever! All the chicken parts were so good. Tried the cowboy beans on recommendation and they were amazing. Great food, awesome customer service, fair price! Definitely will be going back for more Blue Hen.

We stopped while bike riding on the Putnam County Trail. We had a great lunch of wraps and other items. Everything tasted great, and the service was friendly. When we are back in the area, we will stop again to try something else from their wide menu.

Have ordered from them twice. Both times all the food was amazing. The chicken fingers, the fries, hamburger, fried chicken sandwich, and the wings on the bone, and this mac&cheese waffle thing called a macwaffle. Simply amazing. My new comfort food place in Mahopac!

Excellent Taco Salad and Fried Chicken. The Cowboy beans are the bomb and could eat all day. Cool place with a unique menu. It's my new favorite place. Can't wait to go back to try other menu items.

Excellent variety of food choices and great customer service and great manager. I highly reccommend The Blue Hen ! Excellent bugers, chicken, fries, sweet potatoe fries, mash potatoes, onion rings and soup. All of their food tastes very fresh, just like homemade. Highly recconmeded ❗😀🌞

Best boneless wings in the area. Best bone-in wings as well. Decently priced and they are consistent. We go monthly.

Their chicken is delicious and crispy (omg perfection). I hope soon they get alcohol license. Those chicken wings will go with some alcohol drinks😁
