Lantern Chinese Restaurant

I’d say this is one of the better Chinese Restaurants in the area. Always consistent and ready fairly quickly. I don’t think we’ve ever had to wait more than 20 minutes on a pick up order. They do offer online ordering, but it is two dollars cheaper and order. We normally get the house fried rice, general says chicken and wonton soup. This is a place not trying to be something it’s not so go in with those expectations and you’ll have a great experience.

This was only my second visit, and my dish was blander than expected, considering it had garlic, onion and jalapeño, but they didn’t rely on over salting, so I was quite happy with it. The two people with me were very pleased with their dishes. Excellent service and atmosphere so I will be back when possible. The cost per person was barely over $10.

We love Lantern. It's one of our go to Chinese food spots. The items we've ordered have always been good, prices are fair and they are always quick with great service. At this point they pretty much know us and our order lol. All the staff had always been friendly and provide quality service. Even through and after covid they've stayed consistently good. We order here regularly.

We love the egg rolls, house fried rice, sesame chicken, sesame shrimp, house pad Thai, and house egg food young.

Best Chinese around. Very consistent. I love their honey walnut chicken. It’s so crispy and fresh even when getting takeout. Their hot and sour soup is amazing and is also very consistent.

This is the best Chinese food I have found in my area. I recommend giving it a try. Like: General Tso it is good and spicy also Mu Shu Pork is so good.

I'm only giving 4 on atmosphere because the walls are dirty and have lots of drywall anchor holes. An easy patch and paint would make it look so much better. Could be done after hours and dried by open the next day, but from my experience most Chinese/Asian cuisine restaurants have that issue. Food and service was 5 star though for sure!

I had the Mongolian Pork, with hot tea, and Peppercorn Calamari for an appetizer. All of the food was delicious and the tea was excellent. The service was excellent, especially considering how busy they were. Highly recommend trying it if you like Chinese food.

Tried it for the first time tonight take out was super hot and fresh. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious!

The breading on the chicken dishes we got was perfect and crunchy and the string bean dish was heavenly with lots of garlic. The crab rangoon was the best I ever had and the order of donuts was a great portion. Everything was seasoned really well and tasty.

I last had this delicious Chinese food in 2020, and again just a few days ago. The General Tso's Shrimp is still just as fresh, slightly spicy, and perfect. I always dine in, and that is all I can recommend. Always courteous staff. Consistently delicious food. I am looking forward to having a delicious lunch or dinner here, again!

Absolutely, amazing food. Large portion sizes and if they say spicy on the menu it means spicy but you can request it be made mild. Well made and delicious Chinese on the Eastside of town it is a great little secret. I love their crab 🦀 wraps(rangoons) they have just a touch of jalapenos in their cream cheese and crab meat and its not even lil spicy just in the mix but give it soo much flavor. I like the unbreaded Szechuan chicken to die for... worth a checkout.

I have been going here for years and after coming back to Columbus for a visit I just had to go. I was so happy to hear they made it through the pandemic and and even happier to find out the food is just as good as it was years ago.
It's super fresh, always tasty and if you have a chance to dine in it's quite comfortable (spacing and service are great).

This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants on the east side. If you like egg foo young this place is a must! Their brown sauce is so flavorful and garlicky, you won't be disappointed. Our server, Jenny, is always pleasant and is quite funny. We always enjoy ourselves here!

Picked up takeout. Food was excellent

First time here, it won’t be my last! We enjoyed the Lantern Chicken , Cashew Shrimp, wonton soup and I enjoyed the egg roll but I actually preferred the spring roll. Service was quick and our waitress was very friendly and attentive! I asked a couple leaving as we entered about the food, they “ replied, delicious and this is a hidden secret”! Walked in and surprised by the size and number of full tables, all the dishes looked good being brought out!

Great service every time we go. We really like the waiters there, and they always exceed what is typical. The atmosphere is very nice, more upscale place to eat relative to the choices on East Broad. The food is very good. My husband is a vegetarian and there are plenty of options for him. They will customize your order however you want. We eat here often.

We're from out of town, but ordered lunch while visiting in Pataskala. The most amazing Pad Thai in shrimp and chicken!! So flavorful!! Amazing crab Rangoons bursting with flavor as well. Definitely getting food there again! Great experience!

I feel like family when I visit. It is by far the best Chinese in Columbus. The server remembers me every time we visit. Ask for recommendations, they will not disappoint. Off the menu steamed fish and dumplings is AMAZING! I’m a foodie, trust me, this place is excellent. The Salt pepper shrimp appetizer lives in my dreams. 🤣
