St. John's Northwestern Academies

My son is struggling in public school, so we are trying out the summer program and the Raider challenge program.

So far, I can't say enough with how impressed I am with this school. I wish I could have attended there when I was in high school!

The staff and students are helpful and respectful. The whole place seems to run like "a well oiled machine"! The buildings are historical, in good shape, and absolutely beautiful.

Juan Garcia, one of the staff tour guides, was absolutely outstanding. Explained things well, answered all questions, and made everyone feel welcomed and comfortable.

The school is also an international boarding school, which allows students to learn about other cultures first hand.

The Staff Chaplin (Father Aldridge) was very wonderful to meet. Very positive and willing to help. He offers Bible studies and religious services and is there for the student to help them and guide them should they need help.

Overall, I think this will be a positive experience for my son. I would say if you find yourself unsure about this school, just go to one of their open houses and take a look for yourself.

I recently attended an Open House at St John's with my son and daughter. They sulked for the most part, but they did both like the lunch served more than mom's cooking! They also liked the "castle"- looking buildings and were impressed with the cadets.

The staff did an amazing job of explaining everything we needed to know about the school in a condensed amount of time. They were very patient with our questions and made us feel at home immediately upon arrival.

I'm convinced the structure, discipline, and positive reinforcement provided would be a great fit for my teen, who is struggling to find his place in public schools and to learn basic skills necessary to advance. Now I just need to convince him that's the case!

I attended the school from 1995-1998 (4 years of high school). On many levels the school has benefited me. From friends that I still keep in contact with, to using the tools I learned there in business, I have gained many valuable attributes that came from St. Johns.

Not everyone that attended the school has had the same experience as myself, nor did everyone who attended choose to take advantage of the opportunity as I did. I was not enthusiastic about attending the school, but I chose to view the experience as an opportunity and have since taken both the lessons and relationships gained from the academy and used them to greatly enrich my life since my time at St. John's.

Juan, you and your team did an amazing job at the open house in March. The school is a beautiful place with an inviting atmosphere to learn. We are very happy to be a part of the school.

Went here many years ago. It wasn’t easy being away from home at a young age, but it helped build character and leadership. The connections and friendships I built have made me a better man all around. I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
Now that it’s co-ed and not mandatory military it only makes the experience more valuable.

Our son attended St. John's Northwestern, and I was very impressed with the school. The school truly tried to instill honor, integrity, a strong work ethic, and spiritual values into the students. Our son's teachers really cared about him, and they did their best to make the classes intellectually stimulating. It also maintained a highly structured environment, which was beneficial to our son.

Incredible staff, and very impressive facilities.. the school was very patient with all our questions. Encourage any parent seriously considering this step to visit the school (ideally during an open house), and also send their son to First Formation which is an overnight shadowing program. We worked closely for literally over a year with Ms. Judy Rutherford, one of the Directors of Enrollment. Ms. Judy was amazing - very responsive, patient, and respectful of our questions and emotions. It's difficult to send your child from home, but we have such a sense of peace and confidence our son will excel at St John's! Easily 5 stars

I am Graduated at 2001, and till today, I remeber my hight school at SJNMA, the values I learned there and the leadership formation helped me a lot through many challenges in life!! Thanks to all staff for keeping this place a live!

This place is the best, you go in as early as 7th grade and get to experience a life being in a military base, you learn leadership, how to budget your time and keeping a clean lifestyle. There is order here, if you can't find an activity to participate in your just not looking. There is a nice competitive atmosphere between dorms to be the best group weekly and nationwide yearly. There are many marching parade events, sports clubs, even a on campus golf course. You can work your way thru the ranks to be the commander of all the students or if your not that ambitious a member of a unit, however you make your career there is a reward for your efforts. You can earn hundreds of medals from sports to choir to military events and awards from local and state government. It is a good way to learn independence from a life of being dependant at home. You meet people from all over the world whose parents want them to get the best education and experience networking with others for valuable connections later in life. The classes you take are usually 2 or 3 years ahead of what is taught in regular public schools and you are well prepared for college when you graduate.

Man. I remember getting hazed at this place.

Nothin more exciting than running through 2 feet of snow to the cannon at the Delta barracks in shiwer shoes and a robe.

This is such an amazing backdrop for a wedding! The infamous red door and gorgeous architecture is so wonderful!

The chapel was a beautiful choice for a wedding. the stained glass inside is beautiful!

My son absolutely loved it here! Great place to learn discipline and work hard!
