Banter Beer and Wine Shaker Heights

i started coming to banter when i used to work in shaker and everyday i would try a different poutine for lunch and at the time i was obsessed with the Baba Yaga Poutine once upon a time and then i got obsessed with the sliders and my favorite is the fish fry and it’s poppin. i can’t forget the polish boy, i only had it once and the fried chicken polish boy and it had greens and something else i think it was a special but anywho the polish boy is made with a kielbasa which is amazing but i did have a baby complaint because at the time i wasn’t feeling the bread because i think it was toasted but at least the outcome was that it was still delicious overall tbh. i can say i have never had a bad experience food or customer service wise and i recommend everyone to give banter a chance!

LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE! Had to be the fav place we ate at while in Cleveland for a short time. They have so many options and options within those options. They specialize in sliders, hot dogs and poutine. We tried two different sliders and it was delicious each with own unique flavor.

We had the Polish Boy which was great but the corn dog was to DIE FOR. It was the best corn dog we EVER had.

And usually I am not a huge fan of pierogis however the caramelized onions that it was top with along with a drizzle of sauce, I can say I am a fan of theirs.

Also really enjoy the food court style of the place.

And staff were the friendliest. The girl who helped us was informative in recommendations, sweet and attentive.

GREAT PLACE

Absolutely amazing. The Cleveland polish sausage was one of the best I have ever had. The bun was fresh and delicious, there was the perfect amount of sauerkraut and mustard. The pierogi was crispy and tasty. The Banter Poutine was simple and delicious, the cheese curds softened up in the gravy, the fries were fresh cut and cooked to perfection. This is a must visit when in the Cleveland area.

Vegetarian poutine was really good. The pierogies looked and tasted great as well, the onions were perfectly done! Food comes out relatively quick given how long a line they can get.

First time trying them out - HUGE portions, come hungry!! I got my order to go (for home). The Polish boy was really good, had a slight spiciness to it but nothing overwhelming. Took a few bites of the poutine (half portion) to try it - planned for leftovers next day, it’s so good!! Definitely will go back to try the other poutine options and sliders too next time!

Phenomenal! First time there. Woman behind counter was patient and super helpful helping me decide off a menu where everything sounds great. Ended up with When Pigs Fly, next time going for Baba Yaga. Very filling, very reasonably priced. A great meal!

I’m impressed! Its in the Van Aken Market Hall. I appreciated how clean it was behind the counter and cooking area, speaks volumes. I got the polish boy which was delicious! Reasonably priced menu.

We live nearby and have eaten at Banter several times and have always enjoyed it! The mushroom poutine is our favorite and we love that you can also buy beer to take home or drink there. Great family-friendly environment too. Definitely recommend for a casual meal.

Had to try this place because it was on best thing I ever ate, ot didn't disappoint that's for sure! I will be returning to not only this restaurant but the others in the plaza all looked amazing.

While checking out The Van Aken District with some friends, I stopped here to get a bite to eat.

Poutine is one of my favorite dishes, but is a dish that I find is not very common to come across in Ohio. So when my friend told me there was a place in the district that served it, I had to try it.

It took me a moment to decide, but I ended up getting the C.B.R Chicken Bacon Ranch Poutine. There was a decent amount of topping on the fries, a mix of chicken, bacon, ranch, curds, and gravy. It was amazing. The fries were crisp and the flavors were quite enjoyable.

Quick tip: the poutine comes in half or full size. The full size is very hearty, so if you are just looking for a quick bite, get the half size.

Brought my family to the Banter, food was excellent, the service was great and the cost seemed reasonable..look forward to returning soon!!

Best I’ve had in the U.S. They also sell jarritos soda, which was a pleasant surprise to find outside a Mexican restaurant.

I love this place. I am a huge fan of poutine and honestly, before Banter, that was a hard find on most menus. I have had the sausages, poutine, sliders, and plain fries. I find no matter what I get is quality but my favorite items are the sweet heat chicken sliders. It comes with fried chicken, topped with BBQ and Buffalo sauce with blue cheese crumbles on a delicious bun. The Classic Poutine is always a winner and includes fresh, crispy fries, brown gravy, and cheese curds. If you'd like to step it up add some garlic aoili and its definitely a good time! Their selections of beer is spot on. Our takeout orders are always correct and ready at the quoted time. I do wish they had an order online option but I can definitely live with calling an order in. This place is great, you won't be disappointed.

Every time I visit my Mom in Shaker, I always take her food from Banter, always delicious. Employees are always professional and welcoming. I love Banter, wish we had one in Mentor!

The food is so good! The veggie gravy is a must try! You can sub it on any of the poutines. Great beer and wine selection, as well as non-alcoholic selections. Highly recommend!

I live near by and it my go to restaurant. I love the “Cowboy”. My boys who are picky eaters get their hot dogs. Always great service. Different brands of beer and wine you can take home. I don’t see these brands anywhere else. Definitely worth a visit.

banter's poutine is the ultimate comfort food: homemade fries, gravy, cheese curds, and a long list of extra toppings that make each dish special and delicious (the chicken bacon ranch is the best poutine 😉). this place has gourmet corn dogs and sliders as well! all prepared fresh right in front of you. if piping hot comfort food isn't your jam, they also have a wide selection of craft beers as well.

Love this place. They've expanded their menu over the years so there's always new stuff to try, but when in doubt the classic poutine is too notch. Awesome beer and wine selection to boot.

The poutine was good and the service was great! I ordered, texted my wife and my food was ready. Beer was really good too!
