Cafe Vitale

this is a perfect little date night spot. the food was terrific, and the ambiance was just right. I had the bruschetta, the calamari, and the fettuccine (house made) alfredo. would order all of those again. the special worth trying is the braised rabbit. tender and flavorful. I wouldn't hesitate to come here again

This is a great place in Los Altos with amazing Italian food. We tried this out for valentine's day and it is was amazing. Definitely planning to come back here. Especially loved their decaf cappuccino. Their chicken picante and chicken alfredo fettucini were amazing.

However the one con was: They have a 2 seater table right next to the station where their water/napkin refill happens, and it is a a really horrible seating in the house. One of the servers accidentally broke a glass while doing some work next to us and the glass shards fell on us. This was before the food came, and I had half a mind to leave. But thankfully the more generous side of wife prevailed and we stayed. And it was worth, because the food was amazing.

Cafe Vitale hosted a big birthday bash for my mother Aug. 20, 2022. Searching for a restaurant, we were looking for the Goldilocks spot: Not to expensive and overly formal, not too cheap and underwhelming but a perfect balance between charm, intimacy and openness with a flexible manager or owner. When I visited the week before, I liked what I saw.

The decor was a quaint Italian village setting with a nice breeze ran through the restaurant and bar. As with most restaurants responding to pandemic conditions, there were sidewalk tables and a garden patio. Plans were for us to occupy one room but as we discussed guest count and things we wanted to do, the owner offered us his largest room located in the front of the restaurant primarily because we held a Saturday afternoon luncheon. It was far larger than the other room so worked out perfectly. They allowed us to decorate, which meant a few posters on the walls and setting up table decor, goldfish included.

Food was excellent. I had veal piccata. Meat was was tender and juicy with a delicious wine gravy. There were zero food complaints including from an uncle with a reputation for being so picky about his food he'd bring his own outside food into other restaurants.

I really enjoyed the owner. He was very involved ensuring our satisfaction and a memorable experience. Our birthday girl had everything she needed including a good time. I cannot speak highly enough about this place and its owner. It's a hidden Los Altos treasure for which I shall return with friends in tow. Mangia!

Amazing and incredibly delicious as always. Staff 100% Food 100% Ambience 100%. You will not be disappointed at all. Food is made as requested so be prepared to wait for a bit. I usually start with a drink or an appetizer. 😋😋

I’ve been here at least three times. We could taste the good quality ingredients in their freshly prepared dishes. I loved the soft, thin-crusted veggie pizza filled with toppings and moderate size. The abundance of GF options make this a go to local option for my family. There’s a notable, nice atmosphere and indoor setting, but it can get crowded sometimes. Reasonable prices. I will definitely visit again.

Placed a take out order for a spaghetti in red sauce with a portion of veggies and an 8"cheese pizza - both from the kids menu. The person who took the order on phone was extremely diligent and patient while I enquired about other dishes. My order tasted good & fresh, however the red sauce seemed less. I'd like to visit Cafe Vitale for a sit down dinner very soon.

Randomly wandered into this cute Italian place. Amazing seafood pasta, great cocktail, fast and friendly service by Antonio! Will definitely come back.
P.S. their hours are definitely wrong, they’re open Saturday lunch :)

Delicious!!! Outdoor seating keeping - Covid concerns in mind. Wonderful wait staff! Everything we had was delicious! I was not too keen on the $8 fizzy water, probably won't order that again. Great location with parking in front or back of bldg. Will be back and highly recommend!

Good, honest neighborhood eatery, close to anywhere in old Los Altos/Loyola. Nothing fancy, but good kitchen, friendly service and relaxing atmosphere on the patio, despite facing the Foothill expressway service road. Perfect to stop by after the long dog walk for a quick bite or an ice cappuccino.

Really enjoyed the fettuccine alfredo with chicken. The service is spectacular. Will definitely go back.

Like most restaurants, adequate staffing is a challenge, so we must all be more patient. Food was excellent with sophisticated sauces and specials, that are actually special as opposed to overpriced!! . The back patio is OK, but I am always grateful to dine outside. The interior tables have a generous amount of space both on the table and between tables.

One of our favorite stand-by spots both for take-out and dine in. They always have interesting specials, all of their ingredients are fresh and we've yet had to have a plate that wasn't delicious. They're patio out back works beautifully both for date night and when going to dinner with the kids!

Good local restaurant tucked away off Foothill. Large space, large portions. We ordered the house salad to share for starter and got at least 2 portions worth!

We've loved Cafe Vitale ever since it opened, and it just keeps getting better. A fun, energetic staff and owner, with consistently great food.

Celebrated two birthdays with 11ppl, the food was delicious and the staff did an excellent job of serving and waiting on us even though there were other parties and staffing was light. The icing on the cake was the signing of Happy Birthday from all of the front staff and owner.

I know many Italian restaurants in Germany and Italy. Café Vitale has excellent food and service! Nice to sit outside on a warm summer evening.

I had the bruschetta and the Mahi mahi. Both were very tasty. The waiter Antonio recommended a really good Italian white to go with, and it was a perfect pairing. He was very friendly and the food came out fast. I recommend bringing lots of people so you can try more dishes. My only regret is that I didn’t have enough room for dessert. The choices all sounded very delicious.
