Trailside Recreation

This is my favorite bike shop! If I am traveling the Ozaukee trail north I always stop here for my rest stop. I’ve been coming here ever since they first opened and the owner is really knowledgeable about what he’s doing. I finally decided to pull the trigger on a new bike that I had been eyeing up for over a year. I was never pressured into buying the bike and they even let me test ride it on multiple occasions. If you are in the area 100% a must visit destination I will continue going there.

Blake and Sam are lifesavers.

I cycled up from Milwaukee and was in desperate need for a rear rim to get back. I stopped in just before closing and was taken care of immediately. They fixed my bike so fast that I still had enough time to grab a bear down the street before riding back home.

My wife and I rented bikes from Sam shortly after he opened his store. We were so impressed with the service we received from him that we eventually purchased those same bikes and continue to travel from a few towns away for all of our biking/service needs. It’s definitely worth the trip each time. Sam is very knowledgeable and cares about providing his customers with a great experience.

UNBELIEVABLE. They took my son's solid wheelchair wheels and converted them to tubed tires. Even switched out the push rims. No simple task and they were happy to to help. Incredible.

Sam has done a beautiful job helping me with my two bikes over the last few months. I really feel I can trust him to have my best interests in mind. This is a bike shop where you will receive friendly and professional attention from the owner himself. I recommend this bike shop very highly. For bike repairs, Sam at Trailside Recreation is the best. He really cares, especially as this is his own business.

The service was excellent and efficient. Compared to other bike shops, they are definitely at the top in service.

We were very impressed with Sam Wolf's knowledge, expertise, friendliness, and willingness to go above and beyond when introducing us to the various electric bikes offered at Trailside Recreation. He thoroughly answered all of our questions and listened to our feedback after test riding several models. Having some lower back issues in the past, Sam made some adjustments to the seat and handlebars for my wife to accommodate these issues. She is now the proud owner of the Gazelle Ultimate C380 and absolutely LOVES it! If needed in the future we are totally confident that Sam will service it in a timely manner. We highly recommend Trailside Recreation whether you are looking to purchase or rent an electric bike!

Sam is the only person I would go to for anything related to biking in Milwaukee. High quality bikes and even higher quality customer service! Can’t recommend this shop enough.

Great service. The only bike shop in the area that takes walk-in, real-time bike service. I just put money down on an All City Zig Zag and look forward to it's arrival. Great to go to Trailside and receive an education regarding bike options. Always a treat to talk to someone who knows bikes and is someone who communicates well.

I can’t say enough good things about Sam Wolf and Trailside Recreation. My Blix Sol Eclipse e-bike is back up and running, just like new.

I was also saved at this great bike shop. My shoe would not unclip and was totally stuck. I thought my fun ride day was over, but luckily we stopped here and it was fixed within minutes. New cleats, great work, awesome mechanic, great rest of my ride day. Highly recommend!

Came there 3 times in the past year for various bike repairs, maintenance and installation. On all of my visits, the service was spectacular and the staff was very nice, attentive and polite!

Sam has been working on all of my bikes for several years now. He is one of the best bicycle mechanics you will find anywhere. He and Blake are extremely knowledgeable about the different styles of bikes and their respective components. They can pair you up to exactly the right bike for you and your riding style, which means they listen to you and will not try to dazzle you with their brilliance. They are bicyclists who understand.

Stopped by to check out the new bike shop the day it opened and had a pleasant chat with Sam, the owner. I decided to bring in a bike I had recently purchased online and assembled myself to let him check it over. He made a few adjustments that were beyond my level of expertise and was very helpful and patient as he answered a ton of my questions. He also gave me a discounted price because my bike "tune-up" was relatively minor. Seems to have a value-added service orientation and a customer-centric mindset. Just what the world needs more of.

Sam replaced by brake levers and shifters, new cassette, and front/rear derailleurs. I have enjoyed getting to know Sam and the rest of the Trailside team, and they have been great to work with, very responsive and quick!!! A great Local Bike Shop that everyone should check out.

Sam fit me in at 6:20 pm when they close at 7 to fix my daughter's flat tire. He was courteous, friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Took him maybe 10 minutes and I will definitely be back and recommend to friends and family!

Needed a early spring tube-up on my Domane 6.9. I’ve been looking for a good wrench on the west side of Mequon. There was an excellent article in the News Graphic on Sam and Trailside and I heard great things. I received outstanding service, at a fair price. Sam also identified a couple of issues that I wasn’t aware of and fixed them without gouging me. I think the the most impressive thing was when I went to pick up the bike, Sam remembered my name and was pulling my bike out before I entered the shop! The sky is the future for Sam! I’ll be back!

Blake and Sam first fixed my upright recumbent bike - it is like new! Then we rented two e-bikes and had a great time. My wife is not a rider and was reticent. Blake assured her and instructed us both with riding/starting/stopping tips. Friendly and informative. They are building inventory, but the service is great and they know bike technology. Very reasonable prices and I hope they have success being located right off the Interurban Trail!
