I did the Chilkat Wild Safari. It was great. We got to see so many eagles. This tour goes in a motorized canoe. You do have to paddle at times but I finally learned how to properly paddle without over exerting myself. We saw Salmon jumping and saw creeks where they go up to spawn. It was nice to get a tour from folks who are local to the area versus seasonal employees. Everyone I met in Haines was really nice. The lunch that is provided was actually pretty good. Wish it included a salmon spread like other tours but they had gluten free and vegetarian options, they also had caffeine free teas. The tea and hot chocolate were much appreciated as it started to rain just as we arrived. Be sure to use the bathroom before or after your tour. There are bathrooms but they are more like outhouses and bears have been known to be in the area plus once on the canoe there is no stopping to potty.

Our cruise stopped at Skagway Alaska and while there my wife and I booked a kayak and wildlife spotting tour on Lake Chilkat. The tour was run by Alaska Mountain Guides based in Haines Alaska. Our guides Grace and Shawn were outstanding. Plus got to see a mother brown bear and her cubs!

Eight Day Kayak of East Arm Glacier Bay: Our guides, Sean Endicott and CP were exceptional--their knowledge of tides, wind, conditions, and natural history made our trip safe, exciting, and filled with wonder as we kayaked among whales and ice bergs. We worked hard but the pay off was well worth it. And, they cooked amazing food on camp stoves each day!! If you are willing to work hard, work as a group, fall into your tent exhausted and thrilled each night as you sleep to the sound of whales spouting, eat well, get out of your comfort zone and into a whole new reality, then this trip if for you. Words can't convey how incredible it was.

Thank you!!!!
Thank you for the best tour guide and for making a day possible for us to see the beautiful sites of Haines.
We traveled on a cruise ship in Alaska and had excursions booked. The last minute our excursions were cancelled by the cruise ship. We reached out to Alaska Mountain Guides for a possible accessible tour.
At our surprise we were gifted our very own tour guide and a bus that was accessible for my son.
Thank you Alaska Mountain Guides we will always be grateful for your kindness.

If your ever in Skagway, Alaska this is a must do attraction. Even though I was terrified Nate and Melissa stayed very calm with me. Nate even had to come and assist (encourage) me to walk across the obstacle course. Thank you Nate for your understanding.

Tina and Steve were lovely. Very fun and passionate plus very knowledgeable about their craft. They got us up there and climbing in no time and the little drive up with random facts thrown in was a nice little touch. We climbed a granite cliff face and then rappelled down which took around three hours for the seven of us. Highly recommend this experience. Also, if you're worried about how hard it is to climb, I did it with a bad shoulder and my wife did it with fake nails in and didn't chip a one, use those legs!

We went on a bear watching excursion where Ian and Randi took us on a tour of the island, stopping at several spots to view the landscape and wildlife. We were fortunate to watch a brown bear searching and feasting on Salmon. Both guides were incredibly experienced and knowledgeable. Will surely look for another adventure with Alaska Mountain Guides again

Adventure Land/Zip Lining - This was our first experience doing this. Kudos to our instructors Matt & Will who were very supportive and safety cautious. The Adventure land was a little nerve wracking but we made it through there (slowly) but the zip line experience was great. The small group was good too as it made it easier not having to wait a long time in between stations.

I worked with AMG in the ATV program 2017-2018. Although they provide experiences for all outdoor adventure -You want an experience of a life time they will provide! But I'll focus on the ATV program-

This was the first year the ATV program has been run and there were some startup learning experiences nothing out of the ordinary but it was an incredible time never the less! I loved meeting new people everyday and showing them the time of their life in the last frontier! I facilitated so many people's check off their bucket list and incouraged so many more to get excited about the outdoors. I dedicated myself to learning as much as I could to answer any question guests had about this incredible place. This place captivates your heart with the local small town vibe- untouched by the facade of tourism, instead it's a real Alaskan small town. Your imagination comes to life with Salmon, Eagles, Bears, Mountain Goats and Moose sighted just about every week! (Sometimes five times in a day, with eagles soaring over 50 a lot of days on the raft tour!) Some Whales, Fox, Wolf, Hawks/Falcons, Wolverine, and weasels- memorable sightings although less often, just as amazing! The only down side to this amazing little town is it is pretty expensive as far as food goes... A bit costly to get refrigerated items up from the lower 48 or down from Canada- Awesome local eats though!

On the note of employment- AMG has a dedicated team of knowledgeable guides that enjoy adventuring with fellow guides of all skill levels with any free time available! I was able to kayak, raft, climb rock and glacier, take UTVs to the top of a nearly unreachable mountain, hop on some boats, go fishing and hunting, the list goes on and on! My first time ice climbing into a glacial cave was unforgettable! Some things to be prepared for are sometimes the mosquitos aren't fun if you don't come prepared! I brought my own water jug to collect my fresh water from the springs just outside of town which was perfect for me. Bring or buy a squirrel proof place to put all of your food!!! Keep in mind while packing it does RAIN in SE Alaska bring good rain gear and foot wear also I bought baking soda to prevent mold in my cooler of food. I thought it was great to have my own dishes too (personal preference)
They provided us with a place to camp (tent or RV style they'll work with whatever you have) for $2/night which goes to propane for the kitchen busses and wifi we have access to. The property had two restrooms and a shower facility in the warehouse (the hot water only ran out two times in nearly six months with about 30guides but the shower did have to have maintenance a couple times. Sometimes you want to go to a friends house or use the gym showers if you're in need right then. There was also a pretty busy "guide room" that has wifi for classes or social media etc. but you can not download movies so be sure to bring whatever you want to have! We would all enjoy a company provided dinner together every Wednesday night! Sometimes a guide get together dinner Sunday's and fun runs to enjoy all the other activities available. I have met some life long friends and adventure buddies through my experiences there! Thank you all for the laughs and unforgettable experiences!!!

Went zip lining with “G”, Moe, and Jacob. Not only were they professional and safe, but kept us all entertained with a combination of interesting local information, folklore, and Skagway WWE updates. Everyone in our group had a great time and laughed their way through some beautiful hemlock and Sitka spruce trees. Thanks for the great day!

Joe and Kiki were the best guides ever they are the reason we will come back. They helped my son when he was scared to zip line and rock climb and rappel. We are so grateful and thankful.

This is an excellent adventure in the beauty of the Alaskian rain forests. Our guide[Madi} was very knowledgable and had a great sence of humor. We will take this hike again when we return.
