Bamboo Room Restaurant

Had breakfast there with the family. Food was great, coffee hot and the service was top notch. The server also the owner gave us a history lesson about the photos hanging in the dining room and bar. Her mother was in one of the vintage photos dancing and in another photo our server was a little girl selling gold painted rocks with her brother. A true gem of a place. Should not be missed if you are passing through.

Not an expert on Halibut fish & chips, but mine was absolutely delicious. I could have hung out there all day eating that. Cold beer, good slaw, crispy fries and juicy, tender but meaty fish that was mild and fresh tasting. The batter was crispy and not at all greasy. Scrumptious!!!

Everything was great! The fish and chips were among the best I’ve ever, ever had.
However, the fries were truly “meh.” They were a little greasy and not all that edible. Some alternative choices would make this meal perfect!
Also however, the fish more than made up for the fries. It was delicious!!!
The servers were excellent, too. They seemed to be, perhaps, barmaids because they knew all my bad Dad jokes, but laughed anyway…. They were friendly, conversant and got my difficult order just right.
Highest marks to Bamboo room!
We have a new-found love for Haines and we will definitely be back!!!

Had the best time here this past Saturday. Stopped in for a beer and an appetizer and Lauren my server was fantastic. Very pleasant, accommodating and funny. I'm not from Haines so to be made to feel so welcome and at home there was most appreciated.

What a gem this place is. The food is fantastic. We stayed in haines for a night and made it a point to come here for a 2nd time before we continued on our trip. The famous halibut fish and chips were absolutely delicious! I craved those for a few days after we left. Service was very friendly too. Check this place out!

It's clear that this is a locals restaurant and rightly so. The food ys good with generous servings. Wait staff are wonderful and very accommodating. I ate here for lunch one day and breakfast the next and both experiences were fantastic!

Best halibut fish and chips I ve ever eaten and Everytime I come to Haines from the Yukon to go look at some hungry Bears, I stop by your restaurant and it is a real delight.

The Bamboo Room Restaurant advertises their famous fish & chips. I have eaten a lot of fish & chips in my life, and I have to say this truly is one of the best. If you like your fish lightly breaded (more fish than breading) this is the place you. The service was excellent, the food was great, and the ambiance is one of local hometown café. The servers were excellent!

Big portion. Great taste. I had their famous fish and chips. The halibut was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Their onion rings are also fantastic! A good place to dine out in Haines.

Loved it here. Best Fish and Chips we ever had. Food was great, staff were friendly and efficient. We would likely have missed it but the US border agent recommended it when we asked him where the best seafood was in Haines. We ate 2 dinners and 1 breakfast here and all were top notch.

Friendly staff, clean. Decent prices. Delicious diner style food. Curly fries are AWESOME (crispy outside, seasoned), burgers are tasty. Love the bacon cheeseburger. Fresh toppings, patties seasoned and cooked well, good meat and bun. Would recommend.

Simple place. Best fish and chips ever! We shared a plate. Halibut and fries. $25, and worth every penny. Hot. Flaky and fresh. Restaurant is open, looks closed.

This was the best place I've ever eaten breakfast in Alaska. Everyone was friendly as can be and are good people, and great food! 10/10 would recommend!

I ate breakfast there this morning. The waitress was kind and the food was good. I really enjoyed the small-town feel of the place. A classic small Alaskan town restaurant which brought back very good memories.
