Spitler Knoll Overlook

Spitler Knoll overlook offers a spectacular panoramic view.
It is certainly not the highest point, nor the steepest drop off, but you can really see a lot from here.
It is an easy in and out stopping point along Skyline Drive here in Shenandoah national Park.

Great place for sunset watching and it worth all the waiting. Especially there is rain when you are waiting and you see all the cloud changes while sun still reveals itself to you for the full red circle. The golden cloud and the light beam are so amazing which makes you feel how tiny humans are and how powerful the nature is.

Really enjoyed this overlook. Went down to the at just below and got these pictures.

Great views. Perfect sunset. Even saw a black bear and a deer strolling within feet of us.

A beautiful overlook with sweeping view of the mountains and the Shenandoah Valley.

Spent the day on the Drive, visited Big Meadows & Skyland, And All points in between. Had dinner at the Skyland lounge.. Service & food was excellent, had a Margarita wasn't bad at all. Then relaxed at Spitler Knoll to watch fireworks in the Valley. The Sunset was fabulous as were the light show. Met some really nice people all throught our day. It was a beautiful day.

Fantastic place to catch the sunset. The view with layers of ridges is very iconic.

Although the leaves have fallen, there are still great vistas to behold while driving through Shenandoah Park. It's a photographer's paradise, but be quick the park will close for winter soon.

Great fun sunsets! A little close to the road so not ideal for having young children with you. Overall highly recommend.
