Elkton’s Grub&Gab Diner

A quaint little diner in the main section of downtown Elkton. The food and service were great; but it is the charm of this place that draws you back. It’s like stepping back in time.

They have buckwheat pancakes! Yummy! Haven't had any in several years. They are hard to find. I also had the biscuits and gravy. For breakfast dessert (😁) I had a piece of coconut cream pie. Excellent place to stop!

We have been going to Elkton’s Grub and Gab Diner for 2 years now. Found this place last year heard about it from a staff at the Blue Elk Coffee Shop which is around the corner from them. Whenever we are visiting Massenutten we try to make it in for breakfast. The food is delicious and the staff are very nice and attentive. Seems like a very popular place for the locals it’s a small town. This time we went to the diner it felt like eyes were on us from some of the locals kinda made us feel uncomfortable. Once again the staff is friendly and food is good.

After browsing through several online reviews of various local diners in the Elkton to Harrisonburg area, we opted to give Elkton's 'Grub & Gab Diner' a visit. This decision resulted in a wonderful dining experience.

The 'Grub & Gab Diner' gives you a small hometown vibe where everybody knows everybody from the moment you enter the quaint little diner with seating for approximately 30-35 customers (estimated). We were promptly greeted and told to have a seat wherever we'd like and almost immediately approached for our drink order. Although I was disappointed to learn they serve pepsi products, I opted for the unsweetened tea which was made in house and very good. I also ordered the Dilly Burger with french fries, which were made to order. As you can see in the photos, I received a generous portion of crinkle cut fries to accompany the delicious Dilly Burger. The pepper jack cheese, cayenne pepper, & jalapeno peppers give this burger a bit of a kick while managing to not overpower the flavor of the beef and other toppings. It was simply an unexpected delight and while I really wanted another, after finishing it and the fries I knew I didn't have room for a second burger. However I did order a slice of Coconut Pie which was a nice way to wrap up this meal.

I wish there was a clone of Elkton's 'Grub & Gab Diner' in my hometown because I would be a regular customer. You should give them a try if you find yourself nearby.

It's small and always busy but, I've never had to wait for a seat. The people are kind and humorous. The signs on the wall indicate their attitude. Everything my friends and I have had has been perfect! The definition of home cooking. ❤

We were staying nearby for the weekend and wanted to enjoy some local restaurants. Found this one on google and they did not disappoint! Staff was friendly and the woman in the kitchen was so impressive to watch. You could tell cooking is something she enjoyed as she was singing and dancing along to the radio all whole absolutely crushing it in the kitchen. Our food was fantastic and the atmosphere makes you feel at home. Will absolutely be coming back if ever I’m the area again!

This is a wonderful cozy diner with homemade cooking. I want to move to Elkton just so I could come here every day. We are from out of town but made to feel very welcome. Thanks for the fantastic breakfast.

Great small town diner where the staff is friendly and the food is great. This restaurant is easy to miss if you're not looking for it.

Stopped in for breakfast while traveling. Felt like I was on Cheers as everyone new everyone. Service was great and friendly and food was great.. sausage patty looked like a 1/4 hamburger. Didn't leave hungry and price was very fair

Went to this small town diner on our way back from vacation and let me tell you this place is so homey and just nice people and good country food I loved it the only bad thing I can say is the food took a little long but other than that it was good and the waitress was super nice I wish I got her name but she had blond hair and she was super nice great diner 5/5

I like this place, every time we travel to the Shenandoah we eat breakfast here. It's always the same. A hearty breakfast at a fair price. The staff are local personable people who are gracious to their customers. I am always watching my weight so I never give in to the waffles or pancakes, but I see others eating them and I am envious. The bacon and eggs are great as is the western ham. Be warned the country ham is very salty the western is not. Enjoy

Ordered chipped beef gravy over home fries with 2 over medium eggs. Wife had sausage heavy over home fries with 2 over medium eggs, with a slice of peanut butter pie to go. Everything was great and cooked perfectly. You cannot beat the price or atmosphere either. A gem of our little town. Great food, price, and service.

Super friendly, awesome food and very clean. Garbage omelet is the way to go. Can't wait to get home and dig into the na banana pudding that we got to go. 😀

The best little diner in VA with the hardest working staff and breakfast that'll knock your socks off. Dine in and be sure to leave a good tip, it's well worth it

Great little place, we sat at the counter because all the booths were full. My omelet was great and the bacon was perfect, our waitress was awesome we were impressed with her multi tasking skills, we'll be going back!

We stopped through this lovely diner on the way home from Massanutten Resort. We had the best experience! The ladies here are so kind and it’s a friendly place to stop! These ladies definitely put love in their food!

They interacted with my kids and we’re very welcoming!

A simple little diner with friendly staff. The food is simple but delicious. Must try the onion rings. Enjoyed the rock-n-roll and rustic ambiance.

I stopped in here twice for breakfast since I was in the area hiking in Shenandoah and this is one of those places you only stumble upon every once in awhile. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. Thanks to the cook and the host, a nice pair of ladies!
