El Jaliciense

As a first time guest here, I must say the atmosphere feels awesome, I mean everyone there is just to enjoy food and have a good time. The service was one of the best I've had in my life, and the food has far exceeded my expectation!! Highly recommend this place to everyone.

Wow this food was sooo good. Whenever we are in town, it is a must to stop here. The kids chicken nuggets were even excellent. Charming little place. They are super excited to serve you. I love the steak enchiladas.

Great overall vibes from the friendly host greeting you as you walk in to the eccentric server you can tell El Jaliciense is a genuine family owned and operated restaurant. The chips and salsa is very tasty I’m sure it’s homemade. I ordered the Molcajete with beef and chicken 😋 fresh ingredients with a unique delicious flavor. Also ordered at our table were their enchiladas and steak fajitas. You can tell everyone was pleased with their dinner. Well worth the stop if you’re in the area and hungry.

Get the Gonzales with steak and shrimp for 2 people. This food is out-of-this-world TASTY! The staff here is so attentive and friendly. We are so happy we ate here during our stopover. Fantastic!

Cute Mexican restaurant. We asked some of the locals where a good restaurant was that they would eat at and this restaurant was mentioned by several. We ordered tostadas and enchiladas and they were delicious. I also thought that their salsa and chips were very good. Most Mexican restaurants just serve you salsa. This one also served some refried beans and salsa with their chips. I noticed that several people that came also ordered hamburgers, so there is more than just Mexican food there to choose from. I will stop here again on my next trip.

I could eat here every day. The servers are always so nice. The Molcajete is so good and the portion is massive. The machaca was amazing. And I always love gettting a couple of taquitos for the table to share.

Surprisingly outstanding Mexican fare in tiny nondescript restaurant in Monticello, ID. The staff was friendly and attentive to all our needs and the atmosphere was fun and inviting. The food was awesome, beginning with complimentary salsa, refried beans and house made tortilla chips. My meal consisted of 2 Enchiladas, one shredded beef and one a savory spicy pork, served with refried beans and rice topped with cheese and a side of sour cream. There's a variety of meat choices available from the aforementioned spicy pork and shredded beef as well as beef steak, ground beef and chicken. To drink I had a bottled sangria, one of my favs. The menu (posted in photos) is large, I'd like to experience many of the dishes and hope to return again.

Excellent food and service! They also have burgers for the kiddos or for anyone not feeling up to Mexican food.

One of the best Mexican restaurants available! I’m from California so I know an authentic Mexican restaurant when I see one. Montpelier is lucky to have had this establishment in their home town for years!

Went there with a group of about 15 family members. The food was great and the staff was very friendly. The combo fajitas were amazing! We will definitely be back next time we are in town.

My wife's shredded beef was delicious. The pollo a la diabla was nicely spicy, but the sauce tasted kinda ketchup-like. Not bad... just odd.

The service was friendly and attentive. I'd return the next time I was in town.

I have always loved El Jaliciense. They always have great food, great service, and great prices. They are probably my all-time favorite place for Mexican food, so I’m proud to have them in our small community!

The food was so good! We are from out of town and we talked to some locals and they recommended this place. We had the three enchilada meal and everything was fresh and delicious. The prices are very reasonable too. Hayden was our waitress and she was awesome. The restaurant was busy and she was the only waitress, but she still took great care of us. We had we will be back!

Wow, some of the best Mexican food anywhere! A great score in this small town. The carne asada plate was perfect. Very fair pricing too.

I was traveling through town and stopped in for lunch. Small and fun atmosphere and the food was fantastic!
