We had a delightful time in our little Firs cabin overlooking Wallowa Lake. Our cabin was cozy - not too big, not too small; just right for two people. With a lovely fireplace, firewood, and a good heating system, we stayed toasty warm even with frosty/snowy weather. We arrived pre-season so the lodge was not open; we enjoyed the peace and tranquility, while watching deer browsing and bald eagles soaring.

Was absolutely beautiful. Was a bit taken by the keeper of the place but he was very full of historical knowledge. My sisters wedding was amazing and the lodge was truly a beautiful place. The views are unbeatable and they even have an eagles nest on-site that kept us busy looking at nature's amazing creatures. Highly recommend and aim to be back this year.

My wife and I spent a magical and most excellent first weekend of June at Wallowa Lake Lodge, arriving at the tail end of a business trip on Friday evening and leaving mid-morning on Sunday. Our room was charming, with a view overlooking the lake and disc golf field. The lodge itself was a very chill place to spend long hours listening to live music. High point of the trip (besides seeing a mother doe feeding her two newborn babes next to the lodge) were the meals, clearly prepared by chef and kitchen staff passionate about their work. We wound up hanging with the staff, talking food and travel over cider after the restaurant had closed both nights. Looking forward to returning this summer.

Visited while camping in the State Park, maybe we were just really hungry but this place makes the best Ramen I’ve ever had. Have done a bit of traveling, if you like Ramen this place is a must! Incredible atmosphere all around. Basically sits on a small delta of the incoming river. Wildlife everywhere. Top of the list

We loved everything about this lodge! It’s so cute and charming and the old architecture is really something to take in. The rooms are rustic with limited modern amenities (no TVs, microwaves, etc) which we loved! Even our young children were thrilled to just get away and enjoy the outdoors. It was really nice little getaway at an absolutely beautiful location. We had breakfast at the restaurant which was delicious! The staff was friendly, the bath products in bathrooms were really nice, and the rooms were clean. We really enjoyed our stay here and hope to make it an annual trip!

I am regularly at Wallowa Lake lodge leading tours, it is one of my favorite places in Oregon. The rooms are large and simple yet come with beautiful views. The food is delicious, the staff is always kind and accommodating.

In particular, Jacoby at the front desk was fun and on top of it, Sarah running the bar was inquisitive and very great to chat with.

See you next year!

We had the most phenomenal weekend at Wallowa Lake Lodge. The staff were all extremely kind and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Not only did we eat dinner at the lodge, we had breakfast the next morning too and the food was AMAZING. I got the salmon and my fiancĂ© got the bison burger and we both cleaned our plates. We had cocktails from the bar and I can not recommend the Lavender G&T enough!!! The rooms were cozy, the beds were so comfortable, and the hallways were lined with historic paintings and art, it was truly a sight to take in! We walked the grounds for hours drinking coffee and taking everything in! We are getting married here in October, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to start our next chapter. A huge thank you to the manager, Madeline, and the entire staff at Wallowa Lake Lodge! My only complaint is that we didn’t stay longer! I’ll be recommending you to everyone I know!

Our party of 4 had a lovely time at the lodge. Rooms were comfortable and quiet -- just what we needed after spending time out in the backcountry. James at the front desk was friendly and helpful. He was BUSY! Multi-tasking like a champ and keeping a positive and attentive attitude. Jane helped us at the bar and was lovely. They really made our stay memorable.

Our dining experience was top notch. Very friendly service. Kristina (the new food and beverage director) was great! Super friendly, kind and polite. We visit yearly from Idaho. Haven't ever stayed at the lodge but have eaten here several times. Always a pleasant experience. The cook knows his gravy! As he should being from Idaho himself lol.

Stayed here for a very snowy December weekend and it was perfect. Winter is the off season so it was quiet. We stayed in one of the cabins which was well-equipped (the lodge itself is closed in the winter). They provide plenty of firewood to get you started, plus there are wall heaters, so we stayed warm and cozy inside. It's a charming and well-loved little old cabin, and the board games and puzzles showcase the many memories that have been made there through the years. The two people working there were friendly and accommodating and treated us like family. They plowed the path between the cabin and the main road each morning, so no issues getting the car out of the deep snow that piled up through the weekend. It does get wifi, but who needs it when you're having fun just sitting by the fire!

I’ve been an admirer of the Lodge for years. My parents live nearby, so I’ve often gone for dinner and happy hour. Food is alway delicious. The new deck is beautiful!

I loved it so much that I decided to get married there. It was a perfect setting! I needed very little decor because it’s already so beautiful. The staff were fabulous. I rented several rooms and cabins for myself, my photographer, and family. It was fun to see the unique designs of each!

Would highly recommend the Lodge to anyone considering a trip or wedding at Wallowa Lake.

I loved coming here. We stayed between christmas and new years eve and it was absolutely amazing. Super peaceful, beautifully covered in snow. Our cabin was right next to the lake and had a super nice view. The cabins were not luxurious but loved the vibe, kinda like 70s style wood cabins. They had everything you need to cook, games, lots of firewood. Great value for price will definitely come back!!

We loved the Nordic recipes at the restaurant. We had a longer wait for our food,, but they were attentive and sitting on the deck was relaxing; we didn't mind. The rooms were nostalgic and fun! Nice staff.

Rustic, scenic, and sans electronic! The last was a pleasant surprise. No phones, TV, or other distracting modern conveniences. However, bring your own device for free wifi. The lake is a short stroll from the back of the lodge which overlooks Wallowa Lake. Some light snacks are available upon request and the continental breakfast features average fare. Bring your own grub if you stay over Tuesday and Wednesday. Local eateries are limited, most are closed. Had fun with my son riding go-karts and playing miniature golf. Boats available for rent at the Marina. Had a great time! The drive from SE WA State was pleasant. Take photos.

Wallowa Lake could use a little cool, and the new team in charge at Wallowa Lake Lodge are delivering it. They are eminently focused on hospitality and are so kind, special and caring. We arrived at the Lodge lobby to pick up the key to our rustic lakeside cabin, Sugar, and found a new fun, low-key Tiny Bar in the lobby, and a fantastic music playlist of Lucinda Williams and Kacey Musgraves playing and a BBQ food truck with awesome brisket.

Our historic cabin (the Lodge opened in 1923) was as wonderful as always. My wife and I first came here in 1998 and have returned annually since. Our historic cabin was clean and lovely--and at the best hotel coffee I've ever had. Strong. Packets that made 4 cups in our coffeemaker. I dislike weak coffee and this had flavor and it was wonderful to sit outside and drink, seeing the lake between the trees, and listen to the birds. Head housekeeper Michelle knows her coffee.

We had dinner and breakfast in the Lodge restaurant, which is much improved under this team. The prices are intentionally affordable for locals, and the waitstaff is all so friendly and we met the chefs and Kristina the food & beverage director. The biscuits and gravy and buttermilk pancakes with fresh berries were terrific. Dinner of salmon and a generous salad to start was terrific, as were the desserts! GM Madeline and the front desk staff were delightful. The Lodge was purchased by a group of locals via auction in 2015 and this truly was our best stay in 24 years. Can't wait to see how Wallowa Lake Lodge evolves. Oh, and they have rebuilt and expanded the front deck, overlooking the lake and expansive lawn. It's going to be THE PLACE underneath 'the Swiss Alps of Oregon,' the magnificent Eagle Cap Wilderness Area, truly one of the most spectacular natural places on the planet.

Two ladies were planting the window flower boxes as we left and were so kind saying goodbye. This is a special place and a special team. Please treat them as such, and let's support this magical enterprise they are building now and forever.

A great little historic lodge with super friendly employees. The rooms are quaint and dated but that's the appeal. It's set in the pine trees just up from Wallowa lake and around the corner from the state park. Only about 15 minutes from Joseph it's a great place to stay. The staff are really helpful with providing recommendations of fun things to do. We did the tram (awesome time) and the glass bottom kayaks (very unique and fun). We didn't eat in the lodge but hear it's supposed to be pretty good.

A very picturesque lodging experience. Very clean accommodations and caring staff. My wife and I stayed 2 nights in the sugar cabin. It was small but we had plenty of room. The cabin was fully stocked with anything we might need, including a flashlight and even board games. Quiet atmosphere with a clean park like setting. Very relaxing, lots of activities nearby. With no distractions of telephone, TV, and other noise we get everywhere else, it was almost like taking a step back in time. We did not eat at the lodge but will next time we visit.
My wife especially loved taking photos of the tame deer that come right up to say hi. I would give it 10 stars if I could!!!

This lodge is magical. It's so beautifully rich with history. But what truly makes this place special is the people. The staff treat you like you are staying in their very own home.

This was a perfect place to stay while visiting the "little Switzerland" of Oregon.
