I enjoyed being able to walk by the lake so easily. Plus sitting on the dock looking up at the stars was great. Cabins were clean and comfortable.

Today, I stupidly ignored my friend’s warning about wind forecast and kayaked the length of Wallowa Lake from south to north. Suffice to say, I got caught in a hellacious wind storm coming back. I somehow managed to make it to the rocky shore on the West side but was without cell phone. Now what?! I saw a guy securing fishing boats to a dock who motioned for me to come. It was Greg, the manager of Trouthaven…and a HAVEN it was! He gave me shelter from the rain and wind on the deck and offered dry towels and the phone line to call friends to come get me. He offered to help me retrieve my boat and then kept me company while I waited for my ride. I felt like I had just stepped onto the “Dirty Dancing” Movie set!! It is truly a magical place, set back in time when kindness and simple summer fun was the rule. I would recommend this place to anyone just based on the graciousness of the manager and the beautify of the property. Trouthaven is truly a haven from this crazy fast paced life. THANK YOU GREG! I’m going to bring my family out next summer!

Eric was an amazing host. Kind, hardworking, and very knowledgeable about the surrounding areas. He made sure he did everything in his power to make our stay wonderful. The cabins were comfortable, clean, and had everything we could really need to have a pleasant stay right on the lake. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. The only downside is no internet or cell service, but that wasn't that big of a deal with us when we came to get away from our phones and other internet type distractions and if you go a couple minutes up the road you are in cell range. Our 6 year old son also loved the location and it was super close to all the places we wanted to go to. 10/10 would stay again and would like to thank Eric for such a wonderful experience and the conversations while we were staying there. You are doing a great job!

Trouthaven Resort offers beautiful, clean, quaint little cabins on the quiet side of Wallowa lake for your family adventure getaway! The cabin’s kitchens feature a small fridge and cooktop range. Out on the patio they have additional fridge space as well as a propane bbq. The cabins themselves are in excellent condition and are very clean. Outside, the resort offers numerous picnic areas, swings, tether ball, corn hole, horseshoes, and a playroom filled with a ping pong table, and several board games. The resort sits up high on the lake side. Access to the lake is via a walkway down to the dock but there is plenty of rocky lake shore to sit and play. The owners are some of the friendliest people you’ll meet and go out of their way to ensure you’re stay is comfortable. Minutes from Joseph Oregon, Trouthaven Resort will give your family a great place to stay while you adventure in the Wallowa wilderness. Cell reception at the Resort is minimal, but a short jaunt to Joseph will get you full LTE. We will definitely book here again the next time we’re visiting the area!

Trouthaven is a simple, beautiful, quiet place to unwind, put away the phones, electronics and just relax! It has wonderful views and access to Wallowa Lake, fishing and peaceful walks along the lake. The cabins are quaint old places with covered porches that are great for bbq's or unrolling your sleeping bag and watching the stars until you fall asleep. Waking up to sunrise over the lake (see photo) is always a incredible way to start your day. It also has good access to the restaurants and shopping in Joseph and mini-golf and go-carts @ the far end of the lake. This is one of my favorite places to visit and is my traditional spot to celebrate my birthday every year.

Absolutely loved this place. Owners are wonderful hosts. They are there for you but not in your face. Cabins are adorable, and they have a play room and outside play structures for the kids. Wish I would have come 10 years ago when my kids were young. We plan on returning and our cabin neighbor said they come their frequently.

Trouthaven is one of the few places I can go to get a real vacation. Quiet, comfortable, with wonderful hosts, but far away enough that my cell signal only sends limited messages. The rustic cabins offer more then enough room and we love coming here every year and will continue to do so. Fish off the docks, jump in the lake, or take the boat out. It's a great place to rest.

What a wonderful place to stay! Comfortable, well appointed cabins with individual decks, a private dock to swim from, a playground, and friendly owners, all right on Wallowa Lake and away from the touristy area at the south end of the lake. We loved our week-long stay, and can't wait to go back.

We were first time guest at Trouthaven and we very much enjoyed our six day stay in our rustic cabin on the lake. If your ideal vacation includes a flat screen TV with cable, high speed internet and microwave ovens; Trouthaven is NOT the place for you! For us, it was a retreat from the rat race! Everyday we sat out on our cabin's deck which over looks the beautiful Wallowa lake, which is only about 200 feet from our cabin's door. We very much enjoyed having breakfast, lunch and supper on our deck in the quiet beauty of this place. The cabins are placed close together and so guest tend to mingle. The other guests were all friendly, guest share common areas such as the park like setting for picnicing, volleyball & horse shoes. The place gave me a nostalgic family resort type feel. It was refreshing to have no news, television or other electronic type distractions. We came for the State Softball Tournament in Enterprise. Rusty is a softball coach and this was a great place for him to relax inbetween games. The hosts Greg and Gail Johnson are very welcoming, friendly and even allowed the team of twelve girls to come out twice during our stay. They had a great time playing in the lake, volleyball, ping-pong and more. Thank you for making our tournament feel like a relaxing vacation! :)

Trouthaven is an amazing getaway from City Life, no cell signal and no Wi-Fi. The family that runs it is great!
