South Wind Motel

We stayed here in July 2023. We were here celebrating our sons graduation. We had a blast this hotel is in the perfect location private beach access right next to the pier several restaurants that you can walk to a store across the street. The staff is amazing the rooms are so comfortable. We so loved our stay and this place has now become our go to beach vacation place to stay. We can't wait to go back next July when our middle son graduates he has done asked to go here for his graduation trip.

I’ve stayed here since I was a toddler. 32 now. This is the best spot on the KB strip imo. Great location and the gentleman that always runs the desk (always watching golf) is super great. We always enjoy our stay here. Nothing beats the mom and pop motels. This one is super clean as well.

I've been coming down here since I was a kid, it's a great little motel. It's located right beside the pier with restaurants close by. Would highly recommend for anyone planning a fishing or beach vacation.

Thank you for not selling out to the big corporate like the ones around you the prices were good your employees were fantastic and just so nice my kids really enjoyed Jenny I believe that was her name she had blonde hair she was a doll I hope in the future yall will keep it family owned and not sell out like the rest of them. my family and I love coming to kure will definitely come back to your motel ❤ thank you again for a wonderful experience.

A few steps and your on the beach. Family friendly and steps away from the fishing pier. Chairs on the balcony to watch the ocean.

Maybe shouldn't give a 5* as the motel is a bit dated as others have pointed out, and does not have an elevator (just FYI but no problem for us). Here's what makes it special - The owners and staff are wonderful, the rooms are very clean and comfortable and location is unbeatable! We had a second floor efficiency with private balcony and the view of the beach and pier are fantastic. So easy to walk to the pool, beach, pier and stores. Highly recommend this top notch beach motel.

Took my daughters for their first time going to the beach and they absolutely loved the vacation. My mother actually recommended this place and it's now our new vacation spot.

We stay here every summer. Love the location and the staff! Rooms are very clean and in walking distance to the arcades, food places, stores, and the pier! We will NEVER stay anywhere else.

We've had a very pleasant stay each time we visited the device is great !!! Being right at the pier is so convenient store within walking distance rooms are clean !!! We've stayed there 3 times already once this year and plan on at least a couple more times this summer absolutely enjoy our stay each time!!!!

This is an older motel, but the rooms were clean and the staff was very very friendly! The pool was cleaned everyday like clockwork!! Highly recommended and we're definitely going back! You also can not beat the price of the rooms!!

Will definitely be returning.

This was a delightful surprise! The entire Kure Beach community was very enjoyable and our stay here was terrific. We stayed in side efficiency room, the kitchen had all of the utensils and dishes we needed. The staff seemed very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. And the rocking chairs on the porch were used every night!
Also appreciated the picnic tables in the back.
We will be back the next time we need a trip to the beach!

We stayed in an ocean front double room, it was small but clean, and the view was great. I loved being right by the pier and the beach. There's also a gas station across the road, and a lot of restaurants nearby.

This is our 3rd year coming back to SouthWind and we love it here. Staff are wonderful. The hotel is right in the beach, next to the Kure Beach Pier. Family oriented, quiet and so relaxing. We normally only come once a year but this year we will be here twice. Great place to go fishing.

Close to beach. Friendly staff. The outside rocking chairs give it a nice quaint feel. Property well taken care of. We stayed in the sideview efficiency. We had 7 people. The only thing if you do stay bring paper plates, utensils, and cups. They do supply but not enough.

I want to give 10 stars! There is nothing better than staying at a family owned motel. The friendliness of the people there from housekeeping all the way to the owner is outstanding. You won't find sweeter people. On top of that the rooms are amazing and super clean. We really can't say enough good things. Absolutely NO negatives at all. If you want the real deal at Kure Beach this is where you need to stay. You will be treated like family! A+++++ Thank you so much for your hospatility and helping make our stay wonderful!

I love it here, I can sit outside of my room in the rocking chair and watch the ocean, the pier is right next door so its its easily accessible to fish from the pier or on the surf and there's several great eating places within a few steps. Nothing fancy but clean and reasonably priced, great for those who love to fish like us!!! We will be coming back next year for our yearly fishing trip!!

Very clean, awesome view, and comfortable beds. If these three things are important, stay here !

If you want frills and pictures on the wall, don't.
Id rather have the three. Very relaxing place and nice people work there . Will stay again.
