The Admiral's Quarters

As a kid we always stayed here. It’s been several years now since then. Definitely an overall great experience. Friendly staff. Great location. They are doing some remodeling here and there. The location is fantastic, to restaurants, the pier and the beach. We even stayed an extra night because we enjoyed ourselves that much. We will absolutely be back again soon.

I cannot overstate how incredible this place was. Admiral's Quarters and their sister property, Sand Dunes, were perfect for my group outing in May. In addition to an ideal location on beautiful Kure Beach, the staff was fantastic and made my group's stay seamless and enjoyable. The rooms were clean, neat, and well-equipped. You will not be disappointed in any aspect of this hidden gem.

My son and I were in town for a Cape Fear Discs disc golf tournament at Joe Eakes Park in January. We stayed at the Admirals Quarters and had a great stay at this location. The staff are super friendly and helpful (I believe Jackie was at the front desk during our stay). We stayed in a town view room with a kitchenette and it was perfect for our weekend stay. We would definitely book again. In fact, we are back this weekend for another disc golf tournament and tried to book at the Admirals Quarters but ended up at their sister property, the Sand Dunes Motel. It's been another great stay but we'll save that for a separate review. This is a great beach motel, access is perfect for the beach, pier or park. There are several restaurants within walking distance and we really couldn't ask for more. Keep up the great work and we hope to be back soon.

The room was very clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable, and the shower had good pressure. The private balcony had a beautiful view of the beach. There are some places to eat close enough to walk, and a lot more about 5-10 minutes away.

Room was very plain but very clean ,bed was super comfy . We had a 2nd floor king facing the ocean. It was super close you could hear the waves ! Pool was well maintained. Overall we had a great time

Such a wonderful trip, Big Wave Dave made our trip memorable. He brought our girls to a "secret spot" to find sharks teeth and the kids will never forget finding multiple sharks teeth and sand dollars. We will be back for sure!

My family and I had a wonderful stay and will most certainly be back. Courteous staff, clean room and grounds and the BEST LOCATION, walking distance to the pier and several restaurants. Not a fancy room, but it was clean and perfect for us - our main goal was to be on the beach and at the pool as often as possible. The room was very comfortable when we were in it. The pool area was clean with plenty of tables and lounge chairs.

It was everything that we hoped for. We can’t wait to return!

We stay here multiple times a year. We love the location and ease of access to the beach and Kure Beach Pier. Super friendly and helpful staff. Honestly, only draw back is only open seasonally!

Right on the beach and not far from amazing little shops. Our vacation was amazing and the beds and oceanfront view were to die for. Will stay again once we get that way.

My kids loved this place and the staff make it even more special . Roz and Big wave Dave are the best and we are already looking forward to coming back !!!!

Great place and friendly staff especially the maintenance man Dave always in great spirits keep everyone laughing every time he sees anyone been coming here 3 years and wouldn't change anything

I booked this hotel for my family to stay when they made the long journey to come to the East coast to visit me! They absolutely loved it and the price could not be beat. They enjoyed waking up to ocean views and walking the beach every morning. It was so convenient for them to have businesses within walking distance too. They really enjoyed the Ocean View restaurant for breakfast and this was right around the corner! The view from the restaurant was amazing!

Also the pier is just around the corner as well and this is open 24 hours. I felt good knowing there was a spot that sold goods like snacks and beverages as well as any tackle supplies you made need for fishing!

The room was a standard double room with bathroom and kitchenette. There was a mini stove in the room that allowed them to makes meals at the room too, which is really nice. We made frozen pizzas one night for dinner! It was amazing!

The office does close at 9pm. Luckily I live in Wilmington and could accommodate their late arrival, but if you're coming from out of town and will be in late, they say you need to call to make arrangements to get into the room. Seems easy enough. But again, luckily I am local and was able to check in for them so they could have a place to rest after their long day of travel.

Overall, I would definitely book here again!

I absolutely will be back for years to come with my family. We needed a homely place to stay when we come to the beach on our vacations. Ive finally found a great hotel to suit my family. Our room was big enough for my family &The pool was great too! Very clean rooms and there was 2 ac units in our room so it was cold inside (the way we LOVE it) I have no complaints & im happy with the weekend we had. I recommend staying if your want somewhere comfortable, affordable & ocean front. ❤

Been going here for family vacations since I was 5 years old, in my 30’s now. Many great memories. Recently my family and I arranged a trip to re-coupe some of those good times, especially with everyone moving onto different stages in their lives. Due to an unfortunate medical emergency we had to cancel the day of. The industry norm would have been to charge us all for the rooms anyway. But they sympathized with our predicament, and together we agreed on a fair deal that worked for all of us. On behalf of my entire family I want to say thank you.It would have been easy to tell us to go pound sand—pun intended! But It’s good to know there’s people out there willing to do the right thing, and that’s something that’s always shined through with the service here— the owners, managers, & employees are clearly good folks. I highly recommend Admiral’s Quarter’s for their service, fair prices, and rooms that have a clean and modern edge but always remind you of where you are, and who you’re there with. Don’t mess up by booking somewhere else, your memories will thank you!

Enjoyed another stay at Admirals Quarters, we have been staying roughly 8 years and now its under new ownership. Most of everything is the same some new faces in which I would like to give Dave in maintenance high accolades. I travel with work and have been in alot of hotels and I have never met an employee thats as personable as he is. Dave enjoys his job and doing his best to make improvements, he is a great guy to talk to and most guests you see wave to him as he's working. Thats just how great of a guy he is. My daughter was asking him about shells and sharks teeth and he took the time to have a great conversation with her and how she could find stuff easier and where to go for the best shells. The next day he even brought her some sharks teeth and shells from his collection! I believe upper management missed a great opportunity to have Dave as part of the hotel management. As with anything prices are going up and I hope they correct it to correspond with the hotels in the area so we can continue to enjoy our home away from home.

Nice motel and the people who run it were friendly. Their rates beat the sand dunes motel also which is where we have always stayed for years on vacation there. The room was actually nicer too so this is where we will stay next time. The fridge wasn’t very cool when we got there but they assured us it would get better and it did. The third floor balcony view of the beach was great!

If you are looking for a simple hotel that is clean and right on the beach, this is the place for you! The staff is very kind and I love the towel system they have so staff does not have to come into your room. Made for an excellent birthday weekend for myself and my family!!

We like staying there because it is within walking distance of the pier and most of the restaurants.
The kids loved the pool area and if you wait till after 3:00 the building cast a shadow over the pool area so that you are not in the direct sunlight and risking getting sunburned.

They have two pools which is great, one as I mentioned does get afternoon shade but the other one is in full sunlight for the people who came there to get a tan.
Having the two pools also gives families a way to separate and have family time without having to deal with a lot of other people.
