I didn't get a chance to go far but, I can tell this place has a lot to offer as far as scenery. I turned back because I was on foot and there are alligator warnings all over. I heard a big splash an was like nope! I will return on bike however. This is a long trail so a bike would actually be recommend. All in all, for what I did see, it's promising.**Important for first timers*** the parking is on the left hand side into the field when you reach the red end of road signs. You can drive in there and park. I was confused at first because the sign said "No motor vehicles"....lol I asked a resident in the area and he confirmed it was the parking area. I took a picture of the sign that leads into the parking area.

I have attended a birding trip at this trail and walked to the tower. Even though the weather was horrible we saw more than 20 bird species. The trail is safe and quiet, there were only a couple people doing morning run. Good spot for birding👍

Very cool place to view Central Florida nature in its natural habitat. There are dozens of trails that are miles and miles long. This would be one of the best mountain biking trails in all of Central Florida. It is definitely excellent for hiking, too. I was impressed with how many gator trail marks we saw... Really can't wait to come back.

Had a nice six mile hike. Plenty of creatures and nature. More than enough room on paths for bikes and hikers. Nice sturdy look out towers. The maps are mostly accurate, one tower is on the opposite side of the file from what the map shows. Some trails are mostly grass, so you may get wet feet. No complaints, just giving info. Started at Clay island, ended at Clay island. 6 miles, 3 hours, with plenty of stops for pics and rest, sometimes the pic was an excuse to stand in the shade, lol.

Absolutely beautiful.. Depending on you’re walk isn’t a lot of shade but well worth it in the cooler months!

Wow! So much wildlife packed into a small area. A grass parking lot with a grass path that leads to the Lake Apopka North Shore trails and restoration area.
