I wish I could give 10 stars. The staff is amazing. My daughter had her very first track meet last week, and I ran into town to get her spikes. They had her "foot" info, but I wasn't sure I would get what she needed. The staff gave me three pairs (I paid for one) to have my daughter try out. This made my stress level go way down. Thank you Ragged Mountain Running store for all of your help with my our purchase of my daughter's first two pair of running shoes! She picked the pink ones, so we could find her easily on the track :)

Wow! If I could give this place 10 stars I would! They’re extremely kind and knowledgeable. I have foot issues and they have gone above and beyond helping me ensure the shoes I bought are 100% perfect. I don’t live in the area and they are willing to send me shoes to make sure they fit and are perfect. They are quick to respond and will go out of their way to ensure you are a happy customer with happy feet! They’re the best!!

Absolutely amazing experience. Everyone was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I worked with Melissa and she was excellent. Staff talked with me, spent time analyzing my gait and foot, and brought many pairs of shoes until we found the best fit. Will definitely go back anytime I need new shoes.

Absolutely LOVE this place so, so much, and have for YEARS! Came today after experiencing pain while running, and the associates were so patient, kind, informative, and helpful when finding the most magical shoes for me. I literally have butterflies and feel so great about my new Hokas!! I couldn't be happier nor more relieved. Thank you for always providing such wonderful service and insight. AND the free and convenient parking to go with it all! Perfection.

Forever gained a customer. I will never look to buy running shoes elsewhere. Anytime I need running shoes or walking shoes! I will not hesitate to buy here and only here. Love this store. The knowledgeable service is extraordinary! They do much for the C-ville community, and you can even recycle you old tennis shoes here. It's a Charlottesville institution at this point.

Best store around for getting athletic shoes of any kind. If your shoes give you any problems, they will help you until you are satisfied.

Always friendly, helpful, and experienced runners staffing the store; good with recommendations for kids, ppl who are new-to-running, experienced racers of all distances etc. the folx who run the store have made it a pillar in the cville community.

We buy all our running shoes at RMRS, but today I got especially exceptional customer service from one of the owners. She helped fit my special needs son with a pair of shoes to give him more stability despite his toe walking. Thank you!!

Could not recommend more! Mark was very personable, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. The store was very busy when I went (lunchtime on Thursday), but he and the rest of the staff did a nice job balancing all the customers they had with quality, patient, personable service. Great inventory as well. Will absolutely come here for my next pair of running/walking shoes to both support a local business and because they’re the best!

Visiting Charlottesville and UVA realizing I should have packed a better pair of sneakers for walking pavement and not just my trail runners for the park. Was happy to discover RMR while out getting some breakfast. The folks that work at this store are all clearly very passionate and incredibly well educated on the science of running and the anatomy of our bodies in conjunction to the huge variety of shoes on the market and their individual purposes.
While there I witnessed other customers getting world class help in finding the perfect shoe for them. I left with an awesome pair of sneakers I otherwise may have overlooked if it weren’t for their help. I then walked 10 miles in them later that day. My feet/legs and rest of my body felt great and I’m very grateful I came across and could support this locally owned shop! Thanks to the folks that helped me out!

Best Running Shoe Store Ever! The employee showed me Asics as requested. I am very obviously not a runner, and had to request the top of line shoe I had in mind. She was not trying to sell me the most expensive shoes! 😊😊😊 I had that particular shoe before and really enjoyed them, so I wanted to stick with them. Then she had me walk on artificial grass to observe my walk, and then had manager come over to confirm the fit. There is also a permanent discount for all UVA graduates. It just doesn't get any better than this!!!! Pictured below, my new favorite shoes.

Ordered shoes online after having several foot issues and being very active and requiring quality running shoes. Even not being able to make it into the store, Alec gave me exceptional customer service to make sure I had just the right pair of shoes. I was so thankful for his knowledge and patience. Will def shop here again and it always feels great to support a local family owned business vs. big box stores.
