One of my personal favorite stops while on a 3 day road trip! We got the meatball sub and also the tandoori chicken sub (we asked to get this spicy and loved getting the fresh cut up chilies!). They cut each sub in half and we shared by trading a piece. I will definitely make the effort to go back if I'm ever in the area again, don't miss out! The family that owns this is super nice and the food was delicious. Not sure what else to say except that I wish they were getting even more exposure (I don't think I ever straight up rave about a place either, but I had such a great meal there haha). They had amazing sounding specials too but we were just too full to get extras, but I do wish I got another sandwich to go!

Cafe Xpress has the absolute best food in town. I’m a vegetarian and their vegetarian section has multiple options and they’re all incredible. The vegetarian delight is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Their food is consistently incredible, it comes out fast and fresh and hot, and their quality doesn’t waiver even when they’re absolutely jam packed busy. If you haven’t tried this place, you’re missing out.

We took a detour on our road trip because this place had good reviews. It was amazing! I had the Blue Ridge sandwich and my husband had a Tandoori chicken wrap. The food was delicious. We wish we lived nearby. This place is a gem.

Phenomenal! This kind of place is the reason we have online reviews. It's so off the beaten path, so non-descript, I never would have made it here without reviews of other users.

Anyway, the food was amazing. Pictured are the Tandoori Chicken Sub, the Turkey Sandwich with chutney, and the California Chicken Salad.

Tandoori Chicken was so unlike any sandwich I'd had before and really fantastic. If you can only get one sandwich, this is my recommendation.

However, the more you get, the happier you'll be. We got 3 (for 2 people) and not only did we have way more food than we could eat in one sitting (leftovers for the road trip!) we only spent ~$20.

Bottom line, go here if you get the chance.

I highly recommend this place. It's a small family owned business, and they very obviously care about their reputation. They know what they're doing, and their food/service is 100% on point. Prices are good as well. If you don't give this place a try, you're most definitely missing out!

We got the curry and the tandoori sub.

I got here close to closing (about 30 mins) and the workers/and or owners were not rushing at all!! They were so nice to my children and it seemed like a nice environment. I had the turkey Ruben and my kids had a ham sub! A little bit more than what I was expecting to pay, but definitely worth it!! My turkey Ruben was so yummy!!

Do you want to feel like your mom just made you a sandwich for lunch on a summer day? Come here! The food is made with love and it tastes like it.

This is an amazing hole-in-the-wall restaurant. They have a wide selection of amazing sandwiches including a tandoori chicken sandwich (my personal favorite). If you're looking for a great sandwich, this is the place to go.

This is the place you drive by 20 times a year and never stop unless you're very close by. Incredible food. Incredible story. These folks came from Nepal and found our little city. And they've made it home. Sandwiches are well crafted, well priced and delicious. Highly recommend.

Went in at 10am and got a steak wrap & fries. Omg so good and so fast! Huge order of fries! It’s a carry out style place beside 7/11.

Love all their sandwiches, curry and soups. They also have local honey in various size jars.

Cafe X-Press also has wonderful baked cookies, pies, cake, brownies and rice pudding. One can order ahead for family gatherings or picnics.
We recently tried their lemon cookie and it was delicious. So many to choose from.

Great service & amazing food. The diversity in their menu options and the fact that ALL of the options taste just as good/authentic as the next is astounding.
Their American sandwiches are just as perfect as their curry. A real 5 star mom and pop shop.

This little restaurant is an absolute hidden gem. The owners are so kind and talented. We have ordered most of the menu over the years and love it all. The super club and tandoori chicken sub are two top favorites. If you haven’t checked this place out then you are truly missing out.

I think I have found my new favorite sub. Tandoori chicken sub. It was recommended, not too spicy.

First time here. Great, great place! Incredibly friendly. Busy the whole time, so be patient.

Definitely worth it.

Ate here for the first time today. This place was so so so good. I had their vegetarian delight sandwich and rice pudding for dessert. The sandwich was spiced so well and loaded with cheese and sauce, the eggplant was so tasty, and the bread was buttery and flaky with an awesome crust. The rice pudding had so much texture and is was rich and flavorful. The food was so cheap and great for the price. Did I mention the servings were huge? It was a struggle to finish my sandwich because there was simply so much of it. I will definitely be coming back!

Service was excellent. The burger and samosas were tasty, 5/5! Small local business in Salem, great to support!

I have been getting lunch here, on and off for years. Its always great. I just got the salmon meal special and it was superb! Lots of tasty vegetables, wonderful sauce, and the salmon perfectly cooked (so many places will overcook and dry it out and ruin it). Gem of an eatery!

Let me tell you this is the most amazing place you will ever eat. I literally get food from here twice or more a week for my wife's lunch. You can not go wrong with anything on the menu
