Park Vista Inn & Restaurant

We stayed at the Inn over Labor Day weekend. The room was wonderful! It was also very quite even though there were other guests there. Check in and check out were not your typical process but they communicated well with us. We will definitely stay there again!

What a wonderful find! Park Vista not only has terrific food.... the wait staff is awesome. McKenzie was our waitress and she couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We met the owners, Amanda & Chris and talked to them awhile. What a delightful and talented couple.
Both my husband and me had the brisket and... it's probably the best we've ever had!!! We will be coming back again and again - and telling all of our friends.
Looking forward to experiencing their Sunday brunch soon, too!

Stayed here for a wedding. Nestled in the hill is this cute little old school charm with new school feel hotel and restaurant. They are working steadily to get it into ship shape.
The restaurant was great. Food was awesome. Drink selection was good. Shoutout to Tequila who was super friendly and had a great aura.
Talked with the manager and owner as well for a brief moment! Awesome, kind, hospitable folks all around!
Great time, next time I’m in town from Chicago, I’ll be back.

The new owners are wonderful. Room is clean and well decorated and updated. Restaurant was exceptional I had the house specialty smoked brisket my wife had to beautiful crabs. The wines were also excellent and well priced. We will go back for sure.

I'm very glad I stopped here on a nice Blue Ridge Mountain Parkway drive. After a brief hike we were ready for a little eats...which turned into Buffalo Wings, Spicey Shrimp, Pimento Cheese w/pita chips kinda meal. IT WAS ALL DELICIOUS! We had the pleasure of meeting Robyn who was amazing and helpful with her suggestions! Will definitely visit again when taking another peaceful drive.

New owners are great the rooms are clean with new linens. They are in a great location and super accommodating. The restaurant is also great and we ended up eating there during both nights of our stay. We are already discussing when we will be back. The only thing I would suggest is for more comfortable seating in the rooms.

Absolutely amazing place!! The restaurant has amazing food and a very talented chief! Friendly staff, beautiful views, and even an sewing shop next door! They also have ten hotel rooms (like cottages) in case you feel like hanging around for a while. This place is located near Jefferson, a Wilksboro Parkway entrance, and a gift shop. A must stop when traveling the Parkway!

With 4 friends on a blue ridge motorcycle trip we found this place in a storm. They were amazingly accommodating. Rooms were spotless just renovated as was the restaurant which was not open yet. The owners took pity on us as we rolled in like wet dogs and cooked us a homemade meal in the beautiful pine laden dining room. When we finished they would not even tell us how much the meal was and we had to force them to take money. Wonderful hospitality and booked again to stay this year.

The restaurant is amazing! Almost everything is made from scratch, fresh, and well seasoned. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Everything we had was soooo good, but if you're a cheese fan and like pimento cheese you have to try there's.
The rooms at this property are simple, clean, and recently updated. It's also a great location right off the Blue Ridge Parkway - a really beautiful part of the country and one of my favorite places!

Nice people very friendly. Had their breakfast it was really good. I had the breakfast sandwich. It was so good and fresh I had two. My daughter had the buttermilk pancakes. Very clean bathrooms, brand new restaurant and rooms, and we will be back for more food. I now have a good place to stop eat and grab a drink right off the blue ridge parkway.

Some of the best food around! Certainly worth the drive and the wait. Order something with bacon - you WON'T regret it. And the cheese grits are by far one of the best things on the menu. We always get one of the daily specials. They are sure to please! Don't get upset with the wait, just remember, you are in the mountains on a slower pace. Sit back, have a good cold beer and enjoy it. And if you are starving...order an appetizer and enjoy the company!

A modern twist on an old world motel.

We booked this at the last minute and have no regrets. The team have done a great job of modernising the motel while keeping a rustic feel.

GPS took us on a couple of random routes to get here, but it's actually right off the Blue Ridge Parkway and easy to get to.

I wasn't sure about the restaurant but as we were tired and didn't want to drive far we thought we'd give it a go... Very pleased. Great food, good service (but don't expect lightening fast service).

The place is busy but very peaceful.

I would definitely recommend and will be using this as a stopover in the future.

The food was outstanding. The brisket is out of this world. Our waitress, Darius, was simply wonderful. She was witty, funny, and altogether excellent. The owner, Mark, was extremely nice. The only negative was a horribly unhappy patron who put a damper on the fun we were enjoying.

Park Vista Inn has transformed my traveling experience. I love motorcycling, but I hate being away from home. For years I stuck to Holiday Inn Expresses because they were *consistent*. A friendly greeting checking in at the restaurant was just the beginning to this experience. Nestled above the restaurant are two tiers of rooms. Nestled is the right word as the approach into and every space leaves you feeling welcome, cozy, and comfortable to make the stay your very own experience. In seeing the room (one of the double queens), the word "adorable" came to mind, but that isn't quite right. Summer 2021 apparently came with a full renovation and it shows. It's not "adorable", it's high end luxury delivered in a boutique package at an affordable price. I've found a new annual tradition and a renewed spirit of adventure trying out independent hotels and accommodations. See you next year, Park Vista Inn!

Great little hidden treasure. To be an older motel the rooms are nicely modernized and clean. Extremely peaceful. We stayed here years ago and the restaurant is an added bonus so we were a little disappointed that the restaurant was closed for the season. Maybe next time.

My family and I spent 3 nights for my sons wedding at Sky Retreat. It is very convenient, The new Inn Keepers Steve & Tina are wonderful! They got kind thrown into this position but are doing great! They instantly made us feel welcome and made sure everything was clean and available to us. They were very receptive and giving us ideas of where to eat and hike. We look forward to visiting again.

We had a delicious breakfast there this morning. Pancakes, bacon (local), and home fries. Everything was fresh and excellent. They will be open full time starting May 1st for breakfast and then adding lunch and dinner after that (according to the owner). He said the restaurant would be closed on Mondays. Excellent food right on The Blue Ridge Parkway.

This is a nice place. It feels like a little piece of down home away from home. The staff is sweet and friendly and the atmosphere is comfy and pleasant. You should definitely go for the cookie cake!

We love this place! What a little gem. It’s always crowded so you have to get there early. Their prime rib and filet are great and so is their mac and cheese made with Ashe County cheddar. Unfortunately, we have only enjoyed it one season and now they may not reopen next season.
