Great challenging disc golf course!

- Used the public tennis courts on vacation, and they were in good shape (and had wind screens)

UPDATE 10/2020:

When I started Googling for disc golf I was surprised to see the same park where I played tennis also had disc golf. We've now played the course twice on subsequent days. This is a fun course with about 0 elevation change. As others have noted, it's pretty well marked, but we definitely struggled a bit on the first pass. The maps in the UDisc app helped out a lot, esp. moving from #2 to #3. If you don't have that, you can take a picture of the map at the pavillion to reference. A walkthrough prior to play is smart. I didn't do that and finished +7 on the main tees. The next day my son and I both shaved 9 strokes off our scores simply by understanding pin positions and keeping our throws low with a focus on fairways.

Other notes:

- you are basically playing in sand - prepare to slide
- hole length is widely varied (some under 200 ft and one almost 500 ft)
- trees are numerous but unless you're way off target it's difficult to actually lose a disc
- there is not much chance to improve position once you're off the fairway as the vegetation is thick (unless you have dependable rollers)
- only 1 concrete pad; the rest are iffy for run-ups
- recommend closed-toed shoes to prevent burrs
- beware of drainage pools/ditches
- descriptions at each hole are pretty detailed (nice job)

Our grandchildren, 9 and 6, loved this park. It's smaller than the baseball park, but easier to keep an eye on them. Everything was tidy and clean. The playground was great. There were portable nets for pickleball, tennis courts and a basketball court. I also noticed a dog park behind the courts. It's conveniently located in Kure Beach.

Very nice park to take a walk or take your dog to so they can run. Our lab had a great time playing fetch.

My favorite disc golf course around wilmington without a doubt! I love the sand and the crazy trees all through the course! Absolutely amazing ambiance and outstanding and challenging hole set up. 10 out of 10 course, will play many times again!

I went twice with children and grandchildren. Played tennis on the hard courts, they were in good condition. I also played pickleball. The pickleball courts are shared with basketball, so the have portable nets which are locked when not in use. The people playing were nice to give me the combination so we could use the nets. Everyone was very nice. The playground was also a big hit with my grandchildren. They also have a dog park.

Beautiful park with a nice playground, well maintained tennis courts, and a basketball court as well. The tennis courts even have lights you can use if you prefer to play later in the evening when it isn't so hot! I was very surprised to find that the lights weren't behind a padlock or coin-fed to operate... they are just right next to the gate for anyone to use!

Came here for the dog park while my baby girl was in heat. I was told it was a smaller less popular park by a friend. The info was correct. It was a little hard to find having never been before. The dog park is right on the otherside of the tennis court. We were able to let my girl run for a good 15-20 mins before anyone else showed up. There were plenty of tennis balls to play with.

We loved bringing our puppy to the Barking Lot at this park. He was free to run around while we watched the tennis players and then they hit a ball over for him to play with. It was perfect!

Great park. Excellent tennis courts. Lighting could be better, so get there early and do not get caught when the sun goes down.

This quaint park is exceptional for such a small town. The park has a jungle gym, dog park, 18 hole disc golf, two tennis courts, a full-sized outdoor basketball court, baseball field, and lines drawn for six pickle ball courts.

Great disc golf course featuring long fairways and tight turns. But beware the ticks in the warmer months...
