Big Slackwater Boat Ramp

Easy area to launch boat or kayaks from. Plenty of area to enjoy the water without feeling crowded. There were also outhouses right near the parking.

Wonderful place to spend the day, boating 🚢, hiking 🚶‍♂ and fishing. Also tables and grill for picnicking. Just fun to see all the different boats co.ming and going.

Good parking and a small picnic area. Not great for fishing from shore.

Got a little busy on the Weekend we were there… but otherwise very nice area with public restrooms… good for kayaks and boats

Great access to the Potomac River. New dock that allows for easy access to your boat. Great restrooms too.

Great boat ramp and good fishing.

Besides the road to the ramp being narrow and windy, we find this to be one of the most accessible ramps in the area and one of the nicest. It is big enough and the water deep enough (average of 15-20 feet mostly) for larger boats. You can boat for miles upstream and for a short ways downstream....until you reach the dam. We have been as far upriver as the rod and gun club, but it does get shallow quickly past this, so we do not go much further as we have a 17 foot with an outboard motor. If there is not a lot of boat traffic, the water can be smooth as glass. We regularly see tubers and water skiers on the water. There are a couple of minimum wake zones. The ramp park has a bathroom that is generally clean.

Good scenery with some historical significance along the trails, if you travel off the beaten path. Has a boat ramp. Good for biking. Not sure about fishing or swimming.

Great place to come with a boat 🚢 🙌 😀 or if simply want to have picnic there is tables and charcoal grills avalible also there is a route to walk on if you wish to. Saturday evenings plan 1 hour ahead at times there is a line to drop and pick up a boat some people can drop a boat under 2 minutes others can take 15 to 20 there for plan ahead only 2 boat ramps gets busy at times they do fishing competition that also may play a role in time. Get out there and have a blast. Stay safe always.

Great place to put your boat in. Can be very busy at times.

Beautiful place to drop in or just sit and watch! My fiance and I went there on our first date. Road the Harley there, parked in the shade and sat on the dock on the river and just talked for hours and watched others drop in and bring their boats out.

Great boating, friendly atmosphere, boat ramp is busy but you get used to it. Plenty of water for bigger boats. Has a small dock for loading. We take a 24ft cabin cruiser up there often.

Easy spot to put a bost or jetskis, the small dock is convenient others to get in and out. Other areas around lack the small dock. Plenty of space to park and 2 people can be unloading on the ramp at the same time.

I loved this place, until some insane lady screamed at me in front of the whole world and had everyone staring. You know the type, entitled. Her husband looked mortified. Besides that great place to swim, boat and relax

Big slackwater is a part of the Potomac River close to Downsville really nice boat ramp of good deep water for boating and fishing and water skiing check it out very nice nice parking lot Blacktop concrete boat ramp with a floating Pier just south of the ramp to load and unload people on your boat check it out

Ample boat trailer parking. Great place to run your outboard. Gets pretty shallow about 8-9 miles upstream.

Busy place when we got there. We were glad to just walk around the C&O Trail and not having to get in the river.
