Bucaneer Motel

It's the perfect tweaker experience! Cockroaches, dirty ceiling fan, TV doesn't work, people yelling in the parking lot all night, zero hot water, and just to make it even more special they said you can't look at the room before you buy it! Stay here if you want to see how the other half lives! Don't worry about the stains on the towels and the sheets either, it's just part of the authenticity.

The room was smaller but clean and we never saw any bugs. We spent most of our time not in the room anyway. The beds were comfortable and as mentioned everything was clean. We checked in close to midnight the first night and had to call a number to get someone there but we only waited about 10 minutes and they insisted we check out the room before we rented it. We ended up staying there the entire trip. It's location cannot be beat. Right in the middle of everything and directly across the street from the boardwalk.

I always make it a habit of mine to read past reviews about where my boyfriend and I choose to stay. In the past, a variety of visitors gave Buccaneers Motel and its staff a bad rap so I admit that I was a bit skeptical.

We checked in on Sunday, April 1st 2018 and we found the staff hard at work to make our experience at the motel a fantastic one. Even the desk manager helped us when we had issues connecting to the internet and getting our television to work properly. The cleaning staff had worked very hard to make sure that our room was very clean. They very kindly warned me to be careful as the floors were still wet which I found excellent on their part as I am limited to how far I can walk and can't hold my balance at times due to a recent injury to my lower left leg. What I found surprising and comforting was the fact that our room had a walk-in shower. Since I can't lift my leg to high, I always fear that some motels have the standard shower/bathtub combo. I actually felt a sense of freedom that I never felt I had before when I didn't have to call my boyfriend to assist me all the time when I wanted to bathe.

There are plenty of bars if you're into drinking, a variety of stores nearby without having to drive all the way into Wilmington, NC, no worry of unsavory riff-raff to deal with and the beach just two blocks away, this made our experience all the more worthwhile.

With very fair daily/weekly rates, you would have to be out of your mind to pass this place up for any place fancier.

We didn’t see any bugs during our stay, could be cleaner. But the service was great, and so is the location. Don’t expect a 5 star experience from a motel that your paying 80 dollars for per night for.

Listen you really are getting what you pay for from this motel. It could be cleaner yes. But you can’t beat the location, walking distance from a lot of great bars and restaurants. Also the service was 5 star in its self.

I stayed there twice last year loved this place treated nicely ready go again saveing my money
