My husband and I were lucky enough to find the last room available at the Inn on the weekend before Halloween. We were road tripping to celebrate our 20th anniversary and could not have been happier with the Thomas Shepard Inn. Joe greeted us when we arrived and gave us great ideas for the area & restaurants. The accommodations and proximity to the town were fantastic. BUT, the true pleasure was when they provided us with a private breakfast the next morning...it was very reminiscent of our wedding table dinner. Fantastic place, lovely hosts...wonderful memories. Thank you, Joe & Melissa.

This historic home is beautifully restored and amazingly CLEAN! There were many thoughtful amenities in the room. The location is excellent as well. All of the main shops and restaurants are within a few short blocks. The breakfast was fresh, and included baked goods, fruit and coffee, which the owners had picked up from various local spots. The owners are super-nice people who have obviously put a lot of thought and care into this place. I highly recommend the Thomas Shepherd Inn without hesitation. Our stay here was far superior to our various hotel stays of late.

Amazingly renovated house, beautiful clean rooms and the innkeepers are a sweet couple who will give the best advice on where to eat, what to do in town. Absolute recommendation for a weekend getaway.

In a town with more than its share of charm and elegance, this inn is the crown jewel. The property is gorgeous, the location couldn't be more convenient, breakfast was delightful, and Melissa and Claudia were warm and genuine. Make sure to take a moment to appreciate the wonderful landscaping and to close out the evening with a complementary glass of sherry in the beautiful sitting room. We'll definitely be back!

This B&B is the epitome of gracious southern living. Immaculately clean and spacious rooms, comfortable beds and modern bathroom, beautiful gardens and fantastic food! New owners Joe and Melissa are great. I really like their motto: come as a stranger, leave as a friend. This is exactly how we felt-we were visiting friends in their lovely civil war era home. All restaurants were within easy walking distance, and the bike trail was a short distance away. I love the upper back balcony and the birds eye view of the garden. The Inn is bike friendly, as is the town.

We will be back!!!

Super nice clean BnB right downtown. Shepherdstown is cute and has some good restaurants. The C&O bike trail is nearby along with hiking and other WV type of stuff. Owners are super nice, would definitely stay again!

The Inn was recently renovated and is bright, clean and comfortable. New owners Melissa and Joe are super nice and fixed us an amazing breakfast each morning. We ate with other guests which allowed us to share places we visited and restaurants we enjoyed. No TVs in the rooms but plenty of places to read, talk and share a glass of sherry, coffee tea or apple cider always available. Plus you can walk to everything in The town. We celebrated our 20th anniversary and highly recommend for couples wanting a get away. Just over an hour from our home outside DC.

We stayed at the Inn last weekend, and met the new innkeepers. Joe and Melissa are delightful people who have made extensive renovations to the Inn and provide a fine breakfast for their guests. The inn itself is centrally located, easy walking distance to restaurants and historic sites in the town, and a short trip to Harper’s Ferry, Antietam battlefield, and other interesting and historic sites. We hope to be back soon. Very highly recommended!

My wife and I were biking the C&O Canal and had a lovely one-night stay at the Thomas Shepard Inn. The entire house was as splendid as the hosts. We have already recommended it to our friends in the DC area.

I stayed at the Thomas Shepherd Inn while riding the C&O Towpath. Joe and Melissa (the new owners) were super accommodating, generous, and gracious despite a couple of hiccups I caused. I enjoyed the thought they put into the decor. The entire inn is decorated with local pictures and interesting historical information. The breakfast was terrific. They feed you!

I would revisit Shepherdstown to stay here again.

We loved our stay - looking forward to returning often. Cathy and Bryan are wonderful hosts. Many nice amenities that make you feel at home and relaxed, and some additional thoughtful touches as well. We received welcoming and informative emails in advance. When traveling, it's nice to know that we are expected. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Library, sitting rooms, large covered balcony, and the Inn is close to everything in Shepherdstown. User-friendly website. Thanks again for a wonderful weekend.

This Inn is a gem of Shepherdstown. The new owners have completed a host of renovations with it being beautifully decorated to make it feel most warm and inviting. It’s the perfect blend of old world charm with the modern fixtures you expect in a nice hotel.

I was Bicycling from Pittsburgh to DC and stayed here during the trip . The location and room were excellent. they had a safe place for my Bicycle and the breakfast was wonderful . Great Thai food right down the street and close to a bike shop if you need something . I also saw the "The Adventure Sisters " again after they had a very wet and muddy ride in

Fantastic place. The inn is beautiful, filled with antique furniture and grandfather clocks. Walking in is like stepping back in time. It's situated on the main street with easy access to the university and the Potomac river. The owners are warm and friendly and they serve the best breakfast I've ever had at a hotel or inn. I highly recommend this B&B, which lives up to its motto: "Come as a stranger, leave as a friend."

A most relaxing weekend. Just as good as I had remembered. Lauren and Dave are the new owners and very personable and helpful. Breakfast was the best. I particularly liked the savory one(as did my husband) but he liked the oatmeal. Water for hot beverages always available as are snacks. Very comfortable front room. Library available upstairs which just seems to draw you. Rooms clean and well kept. Staff who help Lauren are friendly and do an excellent job. Place to go and do nothing but relax or get out and discover the history in the area.

Loved it. Lauren and Dave are great hosts and the house and area are wonderful. Every amenity is available, and local attractions are plentiful. Although we arrived during a heat wave, the entire inn was always very comfortabley cool. Breakfasts were fantastic.
