Dr Poteat is a great dentist. He is kind, professional, and knowledgeable . I saw a post saying he is money hungry and that is far from the truth! He has always been honest and affordable. I have been going to him for several years now and will not go anywhere else. Also his staff has always been very friendly. I get my teeth cleaned by Jackie and she is great too!

Said it 5-years ago and I'll say it again....Dr. Poteat is absolutely the best there is. He finally got me in for a cleaning and it had been a long long time since I had been for a routine dentist visit. He outlined a plan of action and we've ticked away at it over the past 6 months. I refer anyone that I know looking for a dentist to see him. He and his staff are simply the best.

Dr. Poteat is a wonderful dentist. He is both a skilled dentist and is caring. His staff is also kind and helpful. I recommend him to anyone who needs a dentist. My family has been seeing him for 5 years.

The best dentist I've ever encountered, bar none. I live in NYC but have come to Asheville for the past two summers. A friend who lives here recommended him last year. Months before we arrived this summer, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Poteat--he's that good.

Dr. Poteat adjusted his schedule to help me with an emergency procedure. He then worked with me to create a comprehensive schedule to improve my dental health. I am grateful that I am able to eat without pain, and can sleep soundly again. He is skillful, patient, and does great work.

An all around great experience. Nobody loves to go to the dentist. Dr. Poteat's office was able to squeeze me in to check a tooth I believed to be abscessed. I was completely expecting a script for antibiotics and to come back. Dr. Poteat said he could remove the tooth right then and there. He was very soothing and explained everything as he was getting ready to do it. Told me what type of pain to expect and when. Prior visits with a dentist in Florida have been nightmares so I was petrified of how this would go. I will be going back to see Dr. Poteat for regular cleanings from now on. All staff members that I came in contact with were very pleasant. Very nice atmosphere and down to earth dentist.

Dr Poteat is a very nice and he will do anything to get you in and get you seen. He has been mine and my husband's dentist for over 8 years now. He is great at what he does! Thanks!

MONEY HUNGRY - My husband cracked a tooth and the bill was enormous to take care of it – well over a thousand dollars. We pushed our budget and paid a third of the bill up front. After that, we set up an automatic bill payment for another $100 a month to pay off the rest. My husband followed up by making an appointment for a routine cleaning, and had to wait a month to get in for that. On the way to the appointment, he called to find out was the total cost of the cleaning would be so we could make sure we had transferred enough to completely pay for that in full at the time of service. That’s when we were informed that he could not be seen for a cleaning, without paying in full for the previous emergency service, plus the cost of the cleaning. We explained that we had set up an automatic $100 monthly payment for the past emergency service and intended to pay for the cleaning in full, but they told us it was not enough. We cancelled the appointment and had to wait another month to get in with a different dentist for a cleaning. We have since paid off the emergency service in full, but we still have a bad taste in our mouth for this dentist (no pun intended). To be fair, I’ll mention that the emergency cracked tooth repair was fine, that’s way we’re giving three stars.
