Rocky’s Hot Chicken Shack Arden

This chicken was so good that I gained wings and started running like a roadrunner. Absolutely the most juiciest chicken with the most perfect skin. That crunch, seasonings and balance had me sweating. I had medium and hot drumsticks. Do not sleep on the cornbread casserole or sweet potatoes. If you miss out, you will live with instant regret once you see your friend has them.

I had never been to this location but I like it much better than Asheville.

Came in on a Thursday night, and the line was out the door. Don't worry. The line moves fast. You order at the front counter and then when the food is prepared they bring it to your table. The food came out pretty quick. The fried chicken was some of the best I've had in a long time. Crispy on the outside and juicy in the inside. The corn pudding was pretty jammed up, too. There was nothing special about the Mac and Cheese. Nice atmosphere, and they had people cleaning tables as people were leaving. Definitely worth giving them a try.

A cool funky chicken joint. The line is out the door always, but not to worry. Seating rotates quickly. Chicken pieces, plates waffles, pot pie, soup and sandwiches...pick your heat from plain to extreme. Wow is it good. I went with honey mild...just a bit of k7ck and loving it.

My wife said this is her favorite restaurant in her life. And she brought me here in the first day of our trip😆. The food was really good, chicken was juicy and the workers here are so nice!

Stopped here while on vacation in Arden. A few people recommended this place, so we had to check it out. Well, the food is truly amazing!!

We did take out, but the restaurant is very nice inside, so perhaps next time we would dine in. We ordered chicken tenders with the honey mild sauce. It was super moist, and sauce was very tasty!! Sides were sweet potato casserole and mac & cheese. Both were excellent as well! Our friends ordered the fried legs (not pictured), and they were huge!

We now know why this place was recommended to us. We couldn't agree more! Will definitely, for sure, eat here again when we come back to this area!! Highly recommend!!

Wow! Really impressed with this place. The staff was so friendly and walked us through all the spice levels. She was patient with me and my young one. Very accommodating. The food was all very good. I fell in love with the Zippy Ranch. Perfect amount of flavor and spice. I got the Rocky’s Hot and it wasn't too spicy for me. Great balance and the heat mainly comes from dry spices. Overall, very good!

Their juicy, perfectly crispy tenders are amazing and come in that range of spice levels that make Nashville-style hot chicken so addictive. Plus, tenders are a great way to sample the different heat levels without committing to a whole bird.

Went on Fish Friday, yes they have fish on Friday. Some of the best Fish and Chips I've had. The homemade Tarter Sauce was amazing as well, I think I dipped everything I had in it. We ate at around 3 pm so there was plenty of seating on a Friday, lunch and dinner is a different story so plan ahead and expect a line to order, seating is never a problem. The meals ordered were Chicken and Waffles, a small Fried Pickles, and A Pot Pie that measured 8" across, no kidding.

The gentleman in the curbside pick up hut on Friday, March 15 for dinner service was extremely accommodating and very friendly and helpful. That guy seemed to have a cool calm and collected positive attitude, despite a busy and frantic inside restaurant. Either clone him or give that guy a raise!

Heard they had some "hot" wings. I get let down alot with places that claim they have "hot" wings only to find they are mild at best. Well not this place... their spiciest wings, which I later found out is actually a rub, whooped my @$$! I could only eat 2... well done! Great food! Mashed potatoes were amazing also! Great beer! When they say HOT.... they mean HOT!

Chicken for everyone's appetite and everyone's tastes. Great menu items, side dishes, and more. They also have a wonderful selection of beers, wines, and cocktails. Laid back and chill with excellent service.

In a town known for it's top shelf restaurants, you've got to be exceptional to stand out with the locals. Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack does this. Everything on the menu tastes fresh consistently and staff are friendly and hard working. The atmosphere is artsy and relaxing, perfect for a memorable lunch with good friends. Be aware that the spice levels are not a joke. If you like spicy food, I recommend trying the chicken or fried fish at medium before raising it to hot or beyond on your next visits. That's right, you'll be back. Once you try the chicken, you'll be coming back!

Rocky’s has been on my list for quite sometime but I never really got over there when I was thinking about it or drove by en route to somewhere else.
We’ll the stars recently aligned and my wife and I went. The food was absolutely delicious — chicken was stellar, homemade ranch was a solid choice and the sides were as good as the entree.

We’ll be coming back very soon.

This place is fantastic! A coworker brought me here for lunch and warned me about the different levels of spice. I decided to go with the medium and it was the perfect level. Everything was so good. Pictured is the three piece wing plate with collards and a homemade biscuit. The chicken was so crispy and delicious. The collards were amazing and the biscuit melted in my mouth. This place fills up quickly, so get there early. Definitely coming back for future visits.

Gotta to say right upfront every-time I have been here the staff and service have been great. Fun atmosphere with a few southern touches. Clean and well spaced out inside seating. Now when it comes to the food there’s level of heat when you order so just keep that in mind. It’s called Rocky’s “Hot” Chicken Shack for a reason. The medium is where most folks tend to go and that was perfect for my level. I’ve had the Extra hot and it is good just takes a bit more getting used to. Group favorites: Soul Bowl and sandwich of the day. Also the banana pudding was excellent. Cheers!!

All chicken tenders are not the same.
Theirs are the best in the area. A little pricey, but definitely great quality. They carry cheerwine which is an automatic +1 star for me. The sides are great also, never had a bad one.

Excellent food and staff.
If you like fried chicken, corn pudding and other southern cuisine this is the place.
Savannah greeted us with a warm friendly smile and offered tasty recommendations.

Delicious chicken on the bone. The drumstick is NOT a meager size. Mild spicy was good and slightly better than the mild honey in my opinion.

The corn pudding was a good side with a nice sweetness to it. We preferred the chicken on the bone versus the chicken sandwiches but both were delicious!
