Melanie Franklin - State Farm Insurance Agent

I have been with Melanie since I first moved to Asheville in 2012. When I moved away in 2015 I had two other agents in two other cities and the customer service with Melanie's agency is by far the best. I just moved back and was SO glad to switch everything back to her. Things are seamless and effortless working with her agency. Donna is very nice and helpful, she is the one I always talk to on the phone and I appreciated she remembered me and welcomed me back to Asheville. State Farm is a great insurance company, and this agency is the best in Asheville ☀

Melanie Franklin is an absentee owner, simply put!!!
Her assistant Donna Dark is the only cog in the wheel that holds this business together. I have had Melanie as an agent for almost 20 years and during the first ten years I saw and visited with her infrequently, HOWEVER, it has been probably 10 years since I have actually seen or spoken to her!

Over the last three years, I have had several occasions where I have not received bills from State Farm and her office was aware that I have had these issues, however, "her" agency did nothing to attempt to resolve this problem/issue. In fact, their ineptness has recently caused me to receive a letter from the NC Division of Motor Vehicles claiming that I had a lapse in liability insurance. Her office finally emailed me and claimed that I had received three letters from State Farm and that my motorcycle insurance had not been paid and that there was a lapse. The minute I received this email, I paid the bill. Again unfortunately, I did not get it paid in time to avoid this lapse.

Another even more serious breach of professionalism and/or clerical accuracy occurred through either a missed checked box or some other clerical error that caused the medical coverage portion of my auto insurance to be cancelled on only one of my vehicles and not through me declining this portion of the coverage. Unfortunately, the vehicle that the box that wasn't checked or whatever caused this omission and I were involved in a serious auto accident and State Farm would not honor the medical coverage.

Obviously, from all of the issues that I have experienced above, I could not be more disappointed with Melanie Franklin's insurance agency.
