I came to Raleigh from Oklahoma for a conference and inadvertently left my dress shoes at home, making boots my only option to wear with a suit. “Rough-looking” is a massive understatement for the condition of my boots, so I went to Ealdwine for some shoe polish, and saw that the product had changed quite a bit over the past few years. I had a few questions about leather conditioner, how much polish to use, etc. (stuff like that), and Mr. Gray took the time to show me everything, on my boots at that. The difference is tremendous, and I’m not JUST talking about how my boots look now. For a business owner to take time out of his day, literally get his hands dirty, and go to such lengths for a customer who might come to Raleigh every five years or so… It speaks volumes about Mr. Gray as a person and business owner. I’m now more informed, equipped with some really good polish, and won’t feel so embarrassed about wearing beat-up boots with a suit.

Another cool thing, assuming most will be looking/shopping for more than shoe polish, the store’s beautifully designed, and chockablock with some of the finest in men’s clothing and beautiful footwear. Mr. Gray personally helped with the design in many of the latter (Alden’s handmade in Massachusetts), so I definitely feel like I was in good hands, and had definitely come to the right place.

By far the best customer service experience I have had in recent memory. Matt made each of my visits to his shop an experience rather than just another retail transaction. Ealdwine should be the destination for anyone interested in Alden footwear or quality menswear in the Raleigh/Durham area or anywhere within the Southeast for that matter.

Let me start with I had to order from the store. Matt knows his stuff but, he knows Alden’s like the back of his hand. I was a bit skeptical on sizing as we all are but, Matt reassured me if I wear a 11 in (x) brand an 11 in Alden would be spot on. They arrived very quickly to my home with excellent communication from start to finish! I am a proud owner of Alden 405s and could not be happier, thank you Matt!

Myself and a Great Friend visited Ealdwine the Monday before the 4th of July, It was a terrific experience Matthew was very helpful and all around friendly gentlemen both me and friend purchased a pair of shoes, if you're ever in the Raleigh area definitely stop by Ealdwine you won't REGRET IT.

I went to see Jim for my first pair of Alden. My wife had gifted me a pair for my first Father’s Day. When we walked in (my whole family including a 9 month old), we were treated like VIPs. Jim went above and beyond to help me find 2 pair that were perfect for me. I also cannot express how kind he was to my family while we were there. Jim will be my go to for any other Alden and I have already recommended him to many people. What a great experience!

The best men’s shop I have ever visited. It is hard to really pin point the individual qualities that make Ealdwine worthy of that title as they simply do it all so incredibly well. The selection of Alden shoes and boots, the exclusive make-ups, the outstanding brands and variety of clothing are all important and all top tier.

The best aspect however is certainly the service. Jim and Matt are next level, which is why you see so many reviews echoing their names and those sentiments. They legitimately want each and every experience to be a great one, and it starts from the moment you walk in until you leave - with or without making a purchase. You are treated far more as a guest than a customer regardless of how much you spend, and the vibe of the store is so fun and cool it’s hard to not want to spend time looking around.

Great and interesting selection, elite service, and a cool location really make this store a must re-visit for me and has me thoroughly looking forward to my future visits!

Matt and Jim are doing an outstanding job with Ealdwine. They have a phenomenal selection of products, from Alden shoes and Frank Clegg bags to Naked and Famous denim, and more. I visited a few weeks ago and was extremely impressed with their knowledge and their welcoming attitude. I wish I lived in Raleigh so I could visit more often. Highly recommend stopping in.

Jim and Matt are fantastic! I have sincerely enjoyed my time and experience with them not only in store, but communicating through text and phone as well. They have been extremely responsive to helping me find what I'm looking for and helping me with fit issues. If you're in the Raleigh area, it is absolutely worth the time to stop by and relax while chatting shoes, watches, knives, leather, and bourbon. Theres something to be said for having a local dealer that knows what you're interested in and can help you find that perfect fit and design. These guys are the ticket and I always stop by when passing through town.

World-class, concierge experience! My husband went in to have a bespoke suit fixed from another local tailor, not only did Jim and his team do WONDERS but he loved their bespoke options so much he bought another suit. The inviting atmosphere, mixed with a chic interior and inviting service has us sold. We're beyond happy to have found Jim and his team.

World class service and customer focused! I ordered a new belt from Ealdwine and it was shipped immediately via priority mail and arrived at my house two days later. Matt and Jim are both great, standup gentlemen who have a passion for their customers and it shows. They’re highly recommended!!

I’ve known these two gentlemen for a few months now and have been eagerly awaiting the opening of Ealdwine so I could have a one stop shop for all things high-end men’s clothing, shoes and accessories. My first purchase was the Ealdwine Horween shell cordovan belt, made in the USA! It’s an amazing piece, and top quality from the stitching to the exquisite shell cordovan. But more important for me, is the commitment and passion these two have for customer service and what they do. Within hours of ordering I received my tracking number, and less than 2 days later, the belt showed up in beautiful packaging and presentment. Top to bottom, these guys are doing things right and I look forward to continuing this relationship as their products, and service continue to far exceed what anyone could imagine!

-Ealdwine is the perfect gentlemen's shop! They have an immaculate variation of Alden shoes, fine men's clothing, jewelry and more! I purchased a beautiful pair of Mocha Suede Single Monk straps, a few shirts, a belt and a pair of CHUP socks that catch the eyes as soon as you enter Ealdwine! I also picked up an incredible pair of Naked and Famous black/ grey denim. Ealdwine gives you an old fashioned feeling that you are truly an "old friend". To find a store with people that care such as Matt and Jim is a real score for Raleigh and the community. I will be shopping here for many times to come, I know others will too!

I came in looking for some shoes that would pair well with some shoes, and with the intent to purchase if it was within my means at that moment. From the moment I stepped in, I was made to feel like a VIP. Jim was very curteous, treated me with the utmost respect, and was thoroughh in his questions to ensure he understood my needs.
