Sir Walter Coffee

An amazing coffee shop with a relaxing atmosphere, everything from tables, high chairs at the bar, to lounging chairs. They have a large menu, pastries and food, and a menu of coffee cocktails at the bar. I had the chocolate overnight oats that came with fresh berries and an item from their secret. I came back the next morning for an amazing fresh press. The staff are so friendly, and though the place is busy, it's mostly people getting items to go, so it stays quiet. You can easily find a place to sit either outside or away from the door.

Sir Walter Coffee is AMAZING! I have been to coffee shops all over the world from Thailand to Latvia to South Africa and this place easily competes with any of the best coffees I’ve had anywhere! I love unique coffee drinks and Sir Walter Coffee exemplifies that - they have the most unique drinks I’ve seen in a coffee shop in the United States. It’s just awesome! You need to stop in and read their menu (especially their specials) to see how crazy some drinks get! I got an iced coffee that had ginger, cinnamon, cardamom (I think?), peach and maybe some other spices in it and it really was more of a cocktail than a coffee - it was that good. It was of course non-alcoholic, but if you want to take things to the next level, they even make their own coffee cocktails with alcohol and some of them look amazing! If you want to feel fancy and have a coffee experience unlike any other, head to downtown Raleigh and check out Sir Walter Coffee! It is worth the drive - I can promise you that. I will 100% be returning next time I’m in the city. Best coffee ever!

I love it here they always have new interesting coffee flavors and teas to try! Their menu varies slightly from time to time so it's fun to go and try new things. I also love sitting outside here, it's easy walking distance to other things in Downtown Raleigh

As a self-proclaimed coffee fanatic, I recently had an interesting visit at Sir Walter Coffee in downtown Raleigh, via a friend who knew I loved coffee and wanted to surprise me as I was coming off a COVID-19 quarantine. 😷
Let's talk about the star of the show: their caramel macchiato. It was great. The rich espresso perfectly complemented the creamy caramel, creating a harmonious and delicious concoction. Every sip was enjoyable.
But it's not just about the coffee; it's the entire experience. The staff at Sir Walter Coffee deserves a special shoutout. They were laid back and attentive. A great quality in my opinion, and it made my visit comfortable.
The ambiance at Sir Walter Coffee is chill and inviting. Whether you're looking to sit outside and catch up on work, have a friendly chat, or simply unwind with a good book, this place has the perfect atmosphere for it.
If you're a coffee enthusiast like me, Sir Walter Coffee is a must-visit in downtown Raleigh. The caramel macchiato is worth the trip, and the fantastic staff and chill environment are the cherry on top. It's a lovely gem in the heart of Raleigh's coffee scene. ☕👌

Sir Walter Raleigh's legacy as an explorer, courtier, and contributor to English culture endures to this day. Unfortunately, his life ended tragically with his execution in 1618. He was charged with conspiring against King James I and was beheaded. Ouch!!!

A solid coffee experience with an edgy feel to the shop. I got here before 8am on a weekday and there was no wait. The staff were friendly and the barista was entertaining, being pleased with his own latte art he took a photo of my drink before setting it on the counter for pick up. The drink was quality and what I would expect from a place like this. They have two sizes (14oz, and 16oz) for dine in espresso beverages which is nice. Plenty of seating but I could see this place filling up on the weekends. It appears to also be a bar but I can speak to that as I just came here for coffee. Worth a stop as well as a revisit the next time I’m in town.

Very cute and cozy local café with great coffee choices and quick service. Nice atmosphere to do work, school, or just spend time. The breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel with turkey sausage hit the spot and I loved the chipotle dip it came with. The Belgian waffle was also amazing, smelled great, tasted great and was the perfect size. You could tell it was made fresh. I very much enjoyed having breakfast here with my partner.

Thank you Kayla, Meghan, and Caroline for an exceptional experience, 1st timer here visiting from Cleveland, at Sir Walter Coffee. What I loved from my experience is that your team clearly loves what you do, you take great pride in creating the perfect cocktail, and you made certain I understood all the options.

Special order drinks are not easy to make, and the process can be messy with all the instruments involved, but somehow you kept everything very clean. The atmosphere at Sir Walter Coffee is perfect for studying, social gathering, or even self meditating.

Been wanting to visit this store for sometime now so I finally did it today and hands down the americano and the creamy roast of their coffee was just top notch! The atmosphere inside was great too, soothing music and the decoration of the store adds to it. A great place to hangout, study, or bringing your date! I enjoyed the time I spent there and would definitely go there again with friends or for studying. The employees were cheerful and nice and the service was quick as well. Overall, great service and a good place to just hangout.

Sir Walter Coffee in Raleigh, NC has tons of unique coffee drinks and they also have craft cocktails! Right now they have a special Valentine’s Day menu of drinks and I tried the one called Love Potion! It’s a mocha cold brew with strawberry cream and tastes like a chocolate covered strawberry! We also tried their blackout latte with charcoal and their Walter Raleigh that tastes like peanut butter! All of the drinks were delicious and there’s so many more unique drinks on their menu. They also have an entire craft cocktail menu with unique cocktails like Cherry Sour, Espresso Martini, Tiramisu Latte, & more!

I absolutely love this place. I just came back for my fourth trip and tried the London Fog. This was a fantastic drink! I love the workers here, they are very friendly and helpful when making a decision on what to order. Another thing I appreciate about this coffee shop is that everything is the the $4-5 range for most drinks. The atmosphere is what brings me back. It is good for meeting with someone or also doing remote work. I will definitely be making regular trips back. The only down side is that it is difficult to find parking but there is free parking down the street. Also they have a rewards program here through Clover.

Edit: We came back! Still the wonderful, amazing coffee that it was before. Today it was raining so we had to sit inside.

The music is blaring. I'm not sure if it's always like this, but I can hardly hear my partner talking.

Sir Walter is a staple coffee shop in downtown. They have a huge inside and some outside seating.

They offer coffee bags for sale, merch, beer, delicious breakfast, and every type of coffee.

They also have seasonal coffee drinks. The place is a bit pricy, so be ready to fork over a lot of dough.

This bustling little coffee shop is a definite stop. Coffee, cocktails, coffee cocktails, and food. What more could you ask for! Sat at the bar and watched the team go to work. They were nonstop and didn't miss a beat. Great cohesive teamwork and excellent customer service! Will definitely come back again . Can't miss drinks would definitely be the Bitter Bee Sting and the Shaken Dulce De Leche Iced Latte.. Wins all around. Definitely check them out.

Casual coffee shop with comfortable seating and easy atmosphere. Coffee itself is tea good, light bites and sandwiches are delicious. They got a cocktails as well which is super convenient in the evening , didn’t get a chance to try it ). Service is quick and prices are reasonable. Cool spot

I LOVE Sir Walter Coffee, I’ve been coming here forever! Their indoor and outdoor seating areas are both amazing, great places to come get some work done. The drinks are fantastic, and they always have fun seasonal flavors! Food is great too, and the staff is always amazing!

Absolutely amazing spot to hang out, get some light fare, and great drinks - either caffeine related or alcohol related ;)

The only thing I'll say that's "negative" is it does get busy and crowded early (because of how amazing it is...) So sometimes if you want to stay in, it can be hard to find seating - but that USUALLY isn't a problem!!

I haven't had a drink or food item here yet that has disappointed - in fact, I would say my expectations are almost ways exceeded, and the staff genuinely seems to be happy to help and to be there - and if they aren't, then they're really good actors!

Came in from out of town and experienced excellent service! I also loved the iced caramel macchiato! It’s a great spot with friendly people and good food/coffee!

This place is good. Great location and friendly staff. My rating is more about the coffee given this is a coffee shop. The coffee leans more towards a dark roast for sure. I got a cappuccino and was a bit disappointed in the poor frothing. (See photo) Could use some attention on that front. I’ll definitely give it another try to see if this was a fluke.
