During winter visit, great place to stop and look for sea shells. Got some great shots. Bathrooms are locked for winter season. Nice area to drive through.

Loved walking the pier w my family. Beautiful views. We seen 2 baby dolphins jumping in the water while we were on the pier. Breeze was amazing! Great for family or to just get away and watch the birds and ocean.

A very nice place to go and relax.. Quiet with mostly homes that you can rent and a couple restaurants at the pier that are really good.. Not a super packed beach either

Beautiful place and the shopping was better than most piers. They had a great selection to choose from when looking for little souvenirs. They also had a game room which was unexpected. My husband and I enjoyed walking on the beach and taking photos under the pier and then walking back to the swings and listening to the waves crashing.

My husband, son and I visited last week.
It's been over 6 years since I had a vacation, and over 12 years since I've seen A beach at all being from the West Coast.
The beach alone was phenomenal. Got there at noon and left at 5pm. 4 hour drive didn't want to get home too late. Went for a day trip. Put sunscreen on the kiddo but forgot us lol don't forget the sunscreen!! Life Guards on duty we're attentive as ever. Shelling was phenomenal! If you plan on Shelling full shells go at any LOW TIDE! Search the tide lines. My micro mini shells are fully intact and gorgeous!!! Search local state laws and guidelines. Some are protected!!
And the Pier itself? Amazing!
Yes. It IS free. IF you want to fish however it is not. Parking is NOT free. But knowing we planned to spend a few hours $20 for a day pass was cheap. Quick and easy pay. Search how to pay before hand and have it ready. We parked NEXT to the Pier and we were walking down the ramp paid for a full 24 hours in less than 5 minutes. Take photos. Lots of them. I know people try to take vacations without phones but don't miss a moment. It's worth it. Thank you Kure for making my year and decade. And my son's 1st time seeing the beach ever!

Just the best family friendly pier on the eastern seashore coast. Fish were running, people are cordial, store is great, beach is clean, plenty of easy parking, great experience

Had a great time at the End of Summer Festival. KB has done a bang-up job of having entertainment. The gazebo area is just perfect for outdoor concerts.

They're celebrating 100 years as the oldest pier on the east coast and I believe it's stayed in the same family too.

They have a pier store that has all kinds of fishing gear, souvenirs, t shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, hats, post cards, ice cream, snacks, soda and water. Just about all you need and want as a visitor. The store closes for the season around Thanksgiving and reopens in the Spring, but the pier is open year round.

There's benches right outside the door so you can sit and watch the ocean and more along the pier.

Had so much fun waiting for the beach ball to drop, dancing to the music, and the fireworks. Great family event.

Kure Beach is a hidden gem just a short drive from Charlotte, and let me tell you, it's absolutely worth the journey. The breathtaking pier offers panoramic views, a refreshing sea breeze, and a truly unique experience standing upon it. Whether you're seeking picturesque photo opportunities, a romantic escape, or simply a weekend retreat to unwind, this destination is perfect, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. You'll find ample parking, so you can easily leave your car and take a leisurely stroll to the pier. Spending hours on the pier and then heading down to the pristine beach, you'll discover a clean and serene haven where you can set up your tent or chairs, immerse yourself in a good book, or simply bask in the warm sun with no agenda. Kure Beach is undeniably a must-visit in North Carolina and an ideal weekend getaway from Charlotte.

Good fishing, great relaxation and perfect w weather! They've got every kind of bait you could want. Cold drinks and snacks. There's a little burger joint right outside the parking lot along with a nice seafood restaurant as well.

The pier store was a nice, well lit, place. It appeared they had the whole family working the day we were there.

The souvenirs were decently priced so skip the big box beach shops and pop into this place.

They rent the fishing gear you need- though we didn't fish no purchase was required to walk out onto the pier. If you have difficulty walking note that there is an Incline to get to the "flattish" area of the pier. That said, there are nice benches lining the back side of the pier store. There are also narrow backless benches along the pier.

First time here today. Loved everything about it. Enjoyed sitting and watching families play on the sand with kids running away from the incoming tides..squealing with laughter. Caught sight of some surfer dudes trying to catch a wave. Fishermen chilling barefoot, lounged back in their chairs on the pier. It was wonderful... All of it.

It was simply great and ended up going here every day morning and evening for our visit to Kure beach. Less crowded and awesome view. Must see!!! Very nice park just in-front of it where you can take your little one.

Free activity alert! Costs nothing to walk on the pier or browse the store that leads to it (must walk through store to access pier). There is a fee for fishing, but it seemed worth it - saw multiple people catch fish in the few minutes we were out there. Cool views. There were some benches available out there. Within the store, there was a lot of tourist/beach items, fishing equipment, some snacks behind the counter, and a small arcade. Worth checking out if you're in the area!

This place was wild! I just wanted to go look, so it was free, but there's tons of people fishing too!

First time visiting Kure Beach and man was I impressed. Parking is free, just gotta find a spot. We went around 6-6:30 pm on a weekday and had zero problems finding a spot.

There are plenty of options for food and housing though we didn't get a chance to enjoy it.

But the beach is great and the water clear. We saw sharks underneath the pier which was pretty cool but makes you think twice about swimming out too far 😬. I think what was attracting them was the ice and food that was thrown in the water. The pier is where you can fish from. You don't need to pay to go out on the pier but you do have to pay if you want to fish off it. Check them out!
