I always stop here when I’m in Boulder. Great shop with quality baristas and there’s always a single origin espresso option, which I really appreciate. Cute vibes inside with lots of plants, and usually enough seating indoors. Definitely worth a visit!

Solid cup of coffee! They have a wide variety of roasts, brews and seasonal offerings. This is the type of place that feels dedicated to their craft of making a solid cup of coffee.

I had a cortado made from their Ethiopia blend. The first sip was a touch bitter, but I enjoyed it much more as I drank through it. It was quite smooth!

Their pumpkin bread was delightful, as was their hot chocolate.

When I visited it was fairly busy. I wouldn’t want to study here during the rush, though the setting is good for a quick bite with an old friend. Service was wonderful even with the big crowd!

Excellent coffee shop. Delicious pastries made in-house and I loved their Cold Fashioned coffee take on an Old Fashioned cocktail. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Boulder.

Great coffee. Great foam silk. They know their art. Right temperature, etc. Highly recommend their cap (full review on IG@thesilkcap). Even the pain au chocolat is perfectly baked, right puffiness, tasty bitter dark chocolate. Great spot for a date or to work on your laptop.

Coffee lovers will appreciate the baristas’ skills and knowledge in coffee. The place, however, can get very crowded. It’s obvious because it’s the top coffee place in Boulder, but won’t give you that great “Quiet Coffee Time”. They also sell some fresh meats which is a bit weird because it’s a coffee house, not a chophouse. Despite my negative observations, this is the go-to coffee house in Boulder.

A true euro-style cafe that does espresso wine and cheese. Bustling spot for a meet up and intentionally less suited for laptop jockeys. Indoor “Courtyard-esk” seating area is a highlight.

Pastries are so incredibly flaky and delicious!! Lattes were good and the shop itself was super cute! They had a couple different areas for seating which is nice. Grabbed a bag of coffee on our way out too!

TLDR: a funky cycle friendly cafe in boulder. Great coffee, service and DONUTS !

A cycle friendly cafe they have some super cool cycle gear for sale. Carb load after a long ride with some tasty donuts and a good proper strong coffee!

In the same building there is a deli which wasn’t open but had some great food available too.

I’d recommend this place for a chilled coffee w friends or if you need to do some work - there were a few people w laptops open! Your only a short walk from the main centre of old boulder town so handy!

The people working here are so friendly and they make amazing coffee. The atmosphere is very cozy and I love to have coffee dates with friends here. They also sell their beans which taste amazing at home!

I’ve been to many coffee shops, and this is one of my favorites. The coffee is fantastic - I had a latte and my husband had a cortado. We also tried come pastries: the carrot cake bread, a fritter and a scone - all were amazing. I would definitely come here again.

It's boulder so you get a mix of really great people and kind of interesting people. Staff was fantastic and very interactive. Felt very much at home. The shop that they share the building with wasn't quite as friendly but they weren't open as well and so the fellow I said hello to was probably the work staff and not the management. By the way he never answered you. Just kind of gave me a blank stare. Boxcar literally had some of the best cappuccinos and pastries. We had a unique eggnog filled pastry. The cookies and the brownies were amazing. We went there every morning.

Great place, although the coffee is cheaper in the supermarkets, I was disappointed about that. This is my go to Espresso roast, the best by far, if you want to sample it in another absolutely amazing place, go to Jeannot's French Patisserie on Arapahoe Rd Lafayette, well worth the travel and you will 100% thank me later!!! Jeannot's is the best cafe in Colorado, bar none

Boxcar is officially the BEST ROASTERS in colorado to us, and I must know since I have tried almost all of them by now. We stopped by today for the first time, and we were greeted by such amazing and the friendliest staff. After asking a few questions, I ordered a latte with the Stella blend beans, and wowww I loved it so much after the first sib my husband immediately purchased a bag of beans for home use.
The espresso tasted exactly how they described it, and it was very delicious with chocolat and caramel notes, and it was very smooth with no after taste what so ever and thats the best kind in my opinion.
Most places describe the flavors, but I can never taste any of them, and I end up with acidic after taste or bitter but not here. We loved Boxcar so much that I'm willing to drive the 2 hour round trip just to pick up a latte.
I hope they open up a place a bit closer to south Denver so I can stop by regularly.

Stopped by on my walk to the office each day when I was in town for work. Classic coffee shop experience with great smells, sounds, friendly staff and locals. An older gentleman complained to me that the line takes too long sometimes - I told him I thought it enhanced the experience, showing how welcoming the community is. Service was definitely quick enough that I didn't feel slowed down in my commute - so I disagreed with his opinion.

I had both a cappuccino and a matcha - both with oatmilk and both great. Wish I'd thought to ask for a different capp the second day, when I noticed they regularly have 2 bean options on the menu. I also had a danish that was to die for - heard many other customers comment on how yummy the various pastries were and make recommendations to others in line.

They share a shop with a wine/charcuterie/cheese/fine foods grocer and I am SO sad I didn't get to stop by when that section was open!!!

This was one of my favorite stops! The service was fast, friendly and informative. They had a great espresso selection. Very smooth and satisfying espresso. Probably the best iced latte I had on my trip to Colorado! The gf brownie I had was also fantastic! The space is shared with other vendors that were equally impressive. A tasty looking deli counter I hope to try in the future, a market with specialty foods (tinned fish. Hot sauces, things like that), and a wine shop in the back. Don’t sleep on the wine shop! My bf found a wine that he can’t get his hands on in NY. A great experience!

Loved this place, the good quality coffee, baked goods, service, and the ambiance. I would definitely go back on my next visit to Boulder.

Interesting spot! Half coffee shop, half cheese shop. Very good tea, though it was pricey. A nice place on Pearl.
