Stayed at The Priory for a weekend wedding and was incredibly pleased with the hotel and venue. Booking under the wedding block was incredibly easy, as well as check in. The front desk was very knowledgeable of the hotel and the surrounding area, and pointed out the free gated parking.
We elected for the small suite with a queen bed and a queen pull out in the good size living room. The room maintained it's historical feeling of the old priory but had modern updates and amenities needed for a good stay (robes were one of my favorite parts). The included breakfast is a tasty perk, starting the day on a great note- would recommend NOT skipping, especially the ham & cheese croissant. In the lobby, you will find the Monk Bar which is claimed to be the smallest bar in the commonwealth but still provides a fun and relaxing atmosphere. All of this, paired with a very good price for DT Pittsburgh, puts the priory high on my list of hotels in Pittsburgh.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this historic, quaint hotel. From the moment we walked in until the moment we checked out. Michael, one of the receptionist was helpful, friendly and had a a great sense of humor. They have the smallest incensed bar in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. They offered a few small bites for purchase, spirits, wine and beer. We were served a ramekin of nuts to enjoy with our beer. The hotel has a small parking lot across the street from its entrance. The hotel has additional parking around the corner that is fenced in and only accessible with your hotel room key. We were not aware of the additional parking until we came back from dinner and the parking lot across the street was full. The room was very comfortable. Got a great nights rest. They also provided a light breakfast. The hot ham and cheese croissant was deliciously buttery. Our grab and go breakfast included an apple, breakfast muffin, orange juice and a water. There was also a beverage station that included coffee and a tea selection. Great value and would consider staying here again.

We stopped in Pittsburgh during our road trip from Toronto to Charleston, SC and stayed at The Priory Hotel on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.

We hadn't booked a hotel when we left home, just because we never know how far we're going to be able to drive. Sometimes we get tired sooner rather than later...and other times, we end up pushing through for a few more hours. So, we try not to book and book on the way.

This is what we did this time too. We called The Priory and told them we'd be arriving by midnight and if they had a room for us. Thankfully, they had a King room, so we booked it on the spot.

Parking is very convenient. Just across the street and is included in your stay...as is a cute little takeaway breakfast the next morning.

The check-in process was very easy and quick. Our room was extremely clean and spacious. They've done a lovely job of restoring this beautiful old building into large rooms that are very comfortable and convenient.

The next morning, we went to pick up our takeaway breakfast and were back on the road for the rest of our trip. We'll definitely be staying at The Priory Hotel any time we're in the area or even passing through. Highly recommend!

Our experience was so overwhelmingly positive. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a nice view of downtown, and the afternoon sunlight lit up our room. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed sitting in front of the fireplace and just chatting. I wish we had had time to get drinks in the cute little bar. We would absolutely stay there again!

My husband and I spent Valentine's Day 2014 at The Priory Hotel. From the second we walked in the door we felt the charm and ambiance. The staff was unbelievably friendly and helpful, our room was gorgeous, and the entire place was spotless. Free parking. We could NOT have asked for more. 5 Stars!

When I entered the beautiful building I was immediately greeted by an incredibly friendly staff member who got us into our rooms super quickly and answered our questions about the area. The room. Is. Gorgeous! The bed was incredibly comfortable, honestly some of the best hotel sleep I’ve ever gotten. The road noise was very minimal. Parking was easy with a gated lot just across the street. This is a wonderful hotel and very reasonably priced, especially considering that it’s a quick 15 minute walk from both stadiums! They offer a shuttle to games every fifteen minutes too if you don’t want to walk. If I ever find myself in Pittsburgh again, I’ll be back.

Great place to stay if you’re coming to Pittsburgh! It’s away from the chaos but also super close to anywhere you want to go! Kind and friendly staff! Lovely made to order breakfast bags in the morning. Free parking. Cute rooms. Highly recommend!

If you want an amazing experience combining old world charm and intimacy with top notch amenities, book a room at the Priory Hotel! I couldn’t say more about the friendly and accommodating staff who went out of their way to welcome me and all of my family. The rooms were immaculate with comfortable beds and updated bathrooms. I loved the nostalgic atmosphere with antiques and beautiful woodwork throughout. The butler’s pantry off the refectory is worth a look, if only to see the original tile work! And the courtyard is such a serene place to relax after a busy day! Shuttle service and included breakfast topped off a great stay!
The location is within walking distance to downtown Pittsburgh with its many attractions as well as the stadiums. The neighborhood is being gentrified but I felt perfectly safe walking throughout the area during the day. I highly recommend this unique hotel!

June 2023. What a stunning hotel. From the greeting, the cleanliness, the room, the bar downstairs, the outdoor area - everything was fantastic. So much history in this building. Very reasonable in price - easy to get anywhere. The reception gentleman recommended a Nepalese restaurant around the corner which was also brilliant and cheap. We had so much fun here. Thank you so much.

I stayed at the Priory for my wedding weekend and could not have been happier with the experience! All of our guests have been raving about The Priory. The hotel itself was beautiful. It has old world, historic charm with modern touches. The beds were very comfortable, and the rooms were impeccably clean. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. So few hotels offer breakfast anymore, so breakfast in the refectory was a treat. We frequented the Monks Bar, which was a cute space with delicious cocktails. The location of the Priory was also perfect for us, as it was so close to attractions like the Andy Warhol museum and PNC Park and Acrisure Stadium. The front desk staff had great recommendations for our guests on things to do in the area, and they all raved about the free shuttle! Our stay at the Priory was so different (and better) than any stay at the typical chain hotels, and we’re so glad we chose it for our wedding weekend! We can’t wait to come back!

Stayed for just one night for theater show. Just a wonderful hotel. Character galore. Staff was very friendly. Rooms were clean and cozy. We didn’t have time to really explore the building and grounds but we will go back sometime and do that.

This is a beautiful hotel. Very quiet, clean, and friendly. They are close to pretty much everything you'd want to do in Pittsburgh. The boxed breakfasts were delicious, and Michael, the bartender for the Monk's bar, was very nice. We would stay here again.

This historic hotel was elegant as well as it's attention to details vibes. Filled with victorian furniture, history of the neighborhood, pictures through out the hotel before and after. The Great hall was breathtaking. Plenty of free parking. They have 26 rooms available and breakfast was ready for you to enjoy in their dining room or you can pick up to enjoy in your room.

One of our biggest hobbies is traveling and we rarely stay at the same place more than once (just because we're always looking for new/different experiences), but we will be staying here again.
The hotel is unique, historic, beautiful, and just all around fabulous.... and I can't say enough about the staff. They were wonderful!

We just stayed the night here, my hubby consumed delicious breakfast croissants (melted ham an cheese!) and are so happy we chose this gem . Beds are super comfy, everything clean and quiet and on top of it free convenient parking! My only unfulfilled wish is that they make consideration for Gluten free breakfasts for people like me (celiacs).

Stayed here for a Blue Jays/Pirates game and there were tons of other Jays fans here! The staff was welcoming anyway! We absolutely loved this hotel and would stay here again and again on future Pittsburgh trips. Charming interior and exterior, cozy bar, really comfy beds which is rare for a hotel these days.

Really cute hotel. The rooms were cozy. Not too far from downtown. The shower took a little while to heat up and the fan in the room was a bit clicky. Courtyard downstairs was really pretty and the breakfast was adequate. Would stay again!
