Mount Royal Cemetery

My great aunt and uncle are buried here and it's a beautiful cemetery. However it is 100 percent haunted. You really get a creepy feeling at night time, but it's a beautiful final resting place for your loved one.

I went to Mount Royal to visit my Aunts grave. After trying to find it for 20 minutes Frank helped me. I have difficulty walking so not only did he locate the grave for me he took me there himself. Thank you Frank and Mount Royal for being so kind and helpful!

The Mount Royal cemetery is a gorgeous and peaceful place, and close to where I live which has allowed me to create (and I am still creating) precious memories there with my loved one. Nicole and Lindsay are both very personable and were kind and helpful in answering my questions thoroughly. I enjoyed the time I spent with them in planning my funeral and burial, and came away with an inner feeling of peace knowing that if I should die unexpectedly (God forbid), my family would have peace of mind in not having to scramble to bury me.

Eric was fantastic! My inlaws had bought plots there a ton of years ago and my mother in law passed away recently. We went there today and arranged our own burial arrangements. Eric is so easy to talk to and is down to earth. There was no forcing of additional products. It was an easy, satisfying experience.

My lifelong friend died suddenly with many details unfinished. With the able and willing assistance of Lindsey Piatek of Kyper Funeral Home and Angela Kennedy of Mount Royal Cemetery, my friend was prepared and sent on his path to Heaven. To experience this event with true understanding and care at this time, meant so much more than someone just performing their job. I am very grateful that people of this quality are available to those of us who need them in times of grief.

Mount Royal Cemetery holds the remains of many generations for both my and my wife’s families. Apparently, this is the place to be when you no longer among the living! It’s quite a lovely country setting. When it was time for my wife and I to think about our own final resting place, it seemed quite surreal. We were expecting a heavy, somber, experience. Happily, that was not the case at all. Turned out, it was quite relaxed, almost enjoyable, and very comfortable. At our appointment, we met with Nicole and Eric. They were extremely welcoming, and very knowledgeable. You can’t imagine the crazy questions that come to mind when you are picking your own gravesites! They handled each one with compassion and professionalism. We can’t say enough about how amazing our experience was with them.

Thank you to Leah Adams for her knowledgeable assistance on our visit last week. She was very patient and caring and took the time to answer all our questions.

Eric and Nicole are so great to work with. They take the time to listen and make sure all of our needs are met.

I Love this cemetery. That may seem strange to say, but I have been visiting here since I was a young child. When my cousin Tim died in 1959, my grandmother and I would walk up Villsack road, a half block, to sit by his graveside. As my grandmother said her prayers, the expanse of rolling hills, green were beautiful and comforting. I spent many hours in spring, summer and fall here and later, as an adult found the peace of the area with only flat plaques in the ground as grave markers had helped me find a sense of peace with loved ones passing on.

Since that time, my grand parents and more cousins have been buried here. We have had viewings in the main building and across the street - and funeral internments. Sad as they have been, the knowledge that they are here has been a comfort no matter where I have been traveling in the world.

I have been back often in adulthood to sit and pray for my loved ones, and whenever friends have journeyed with me - often across the country - they have been moved by the peace and gentleness of Mount Royal Memorial Park.

My biggest complaint is the hours. When coming from hours away or flying into Pittsburgh specifically to visit my loved ones, the closed hours, including Sundays, has been very inconvenient. The management should at least make arrangements for people coming from afar.

Passion runs strong when we research our immediate family and where they are buried, as we decide where we will finally rest. Like so many, I have examined this and the certificates of death learning how they died, even finding where my problems may have originated. Unknowingly, my own children and grandchildren have been named after these predecessors. So, I'll be the tenth with my last name to rest here with my grandfather.

Jennifer Price endured my diatribe and suggested an economical yet meaningful way to kill two birds with one stone. My grandfather didn't have a marker, so my ashes will be placed under a shared marker with him for one reasonable price. I look like his father now, so this should work out well.
He was a violinist and I sang. He had great bubbling Christmas ornaments and a cobalt water bottle in the refrigerator always. There was a market down the street with a case full of penny candy in Aspinwall.

I live outside Atlanta, so this will be coming home. The Gilbert family came from Staffordshire in the 19th century to Sharpsburg. 2nd ggf, 1st ggf, lived there. Grandfather and father born there. Grandmother, who married my grandfather was baptized there. Her family was from Baden Wurtenburg. Her father lived in
Sharpsburg, but most were from Butler.

This Cemetery is a resting place for my lines of Pittsburgh and I hope encourage interest in investment to the beautifying of the grounds.

Very pleasant place, nice people walking around, calm, and most importantly, a great pokemon go location! lol. Lots of pokestops and 5 gyms in the virtual world here.

Only downside is that the roads aren't in the best of conditions, but that may be true for any larger cemetery.
