Janie's Hard Ice Cream

We absolutely love it here! The staff is always friendly and pleasant. Ice cream is VERY good and lots of variety. The bubble tea/lemonade is really good too!! They accept cash and cards.

Janie's has great ice cream and very friendly staff. They give you big portions and they have a lot of flavors!

I come from an ice cream loving family. We’re known to travel in a storm for ice cream. After 20 years in Pittsburgh I’m beyond thrilled to have FINALLY found the ice cream spot I’d travel to in a storm. Not only was the ice cream delicious, but the owner was awesome too. She made us feel so welcomed. Take a trip to Janie’s, you won’t regret it!

One of the best ice cream places around. Staff is so friendly and very curious. We went there for a birthday celebration and made their banana split as the bday cake 🎂
They were so nice to even offer a free scoop or anything from the refrigerator ☺

Excellent! This place was a treat. We were quickly greeted by the staff and they took our order. The choices of 🍦 ice cream were made it really hard. They hard the usual suspects and then some really unique flavors - an Elvis concoction, blueberry cheese cake, and Banana 🍌 Cream Pie. I went for that it was excellent, the family had birthday cake and strawberry with no complaints in the house. Get their waffle cones they are really good too!!

Lovely little ice cream shop in the heart of Coraopolis! The serving sizes are very generous. I had the Fat Elvis and the Mint Chocolate Chip. I highly recommend both. Very reasonable prices too, it was only $4.28.

Wow. The grasshopper (mint chocolate chip with oreo type cookie in it) is exceptional. Brownie batter very good. Will be back to try other flavors.

I’ve been wanting to try bubble tea for sooo long and I’m so glad I decided to try it from Janies. Peach bubbles with lemonade, best drink for summer time. 🍑🍋

Some favorites from our visit were the brownie sundae, sea salt caramel coffee ice cream, pomegranate lemonade woth blueberry bubbles, and blackberry lemonade with kiwi bubbles. 5 stars!

Best ice cream store anywhere, hands down! No need to go anywhere else. Get the Pittsburgh Pride of they have it. Brownies, oreos, and cake batter... need I say more? I love chocolate and the dirt flavor was so yummy with lots of brownie pieces. Huge portions, friendly staff. Brownie sundae was large enough for two.

Amazing and unique ice cream flavors. Seriously. Just skip Ben and Jerry's at the store and get a pint of whatever they've got in stock. Pittsburgh Pride is my personal favorite.
Plus they also do really great hot chocolate bombs at Christmas time.
Check em out. Eat the ice cream. You'll see.

Stopped in with the family last night and was really happy that I did! They had a nice variety of flavors and that included some vegan flavors. At a lot of places we have been the scoops are pretty small. We ordered mediums and we were given two large scoops each, which was very generous! We really hope to be back soon!

I went here for the first time tonight, and wow. The ice cream was great! I grew up in the Jersey Shore region and am used to ice cream parlors being pretty competitive. My pralines & cream ice cream was the best ice cream I think I've had in a while.

Also, the people at the shop were really nice, and the shop was clean and well-kept. Will come back!

The service here is always excellent! The workers scoop generous portions of the very delicious rotating flavors. Since a friend recommended Janie's, we've returned once a week to try different flavors. Never a disappointment and fair prices!

Janie's homemade ice cream is dedicated to the memory of Maryjane Walsh who's picture is in the entryway. Using Betsy's ice cream from Mt. Lebanon they provide delicious homemade ice cream and treats for the entire family. Samples are permitted and you are allowed to mix and match flavors. They also carry Betsy's signature flavor called "Pittsburgh Pride" with it's black and gold colors and ingredients. Ice cream is outstanding and one of the new best kept ice cream parlors in the western suburbs. Definitely worth the trip.

Decided we wanted ice cream late in the evening and realized Janie's is open and open until 10. Stopped down for the first time and it didn't disappoint. Staff was helpful and friendly and the ice cream was delicious. I recommend the Pittsburgh Pride.

The people who work there are very nice and their ice cream is the very best. So rich and smooth. Yum. My favorite is butter pecan. I always get two scoops. I am there at least twice a month. For about a month I went every week. Since I am a diabetic I no longer go every week. I am so glad they are in walking distance from where I live. My prayer is that the Lord continues to bless them and to keep them. May you continue to put a 😃 on someone's face.

Grew up knowing Bruster's as my one true love. After I had Janie's Ice Cream I had to break up with Bruster and now I'm going steady with Janie full time 😜

Best Ice Cream in the Burgh. My girlfriend loves fhs Pittsburgh Pride. I just had a scoop of Banana Cream Pie and a scoop of Cinnamon Bun. The banana cream pie had such a wonderful texture and the flavor was on point. The cinnamon bun has a thick cinnamon brown sugar swirl that is the closet thing to to emulating a real life cinnamon bun. The cinnamon has a nice crunch to it. 5/5 would definitely eat here again.
