Mario's South Side Saloon

You know exactly what you’re getting into when you come here. Crowd is pretty young. There is enough space to spread out. Love all the levels in this bar. $14 for a margarita w/ espolon and a rum and coke is a great deal.

Awesome experience. Friendly atmosphere. Killer bar food. Good sporting atmosphere. Even for a chiefs fan. Lol. I'd go back. There was a good mix of the crowd. I saw people if all walks and ages.

My husband went to Mario's South Side Saloon for our 1st date over 35 years ago. It is the same wonderful place with great burgers, chicken thumbs and fried pickles!!!

Great staff and atmosphere. 2nd visit and very happy to have a third.

Staff was incredibly! John and Hanna made my birthday. I’d come back just for them. The food was really good too

Bar staff are legendary, atmosphere is very chilled, highly recommend dropping in for a beer, especially if like me, you're a little lost brit in America, they'll make sure you're well looked after.

I left 2 stars about 10 years ago and I don't remember why. I was here 5 years ago and met my wife on the third floor. We now have 2 kids together so I felt I should upgrade to 5 stars.

A staple of Southside. Just go to the second floor and spin the shot wheel with your friends! All the bartenders on the second floor are always interactive.
There are also three other floors to go to if you're somehow not enjoying your time there.
Overall, great building, bar, and is a staple to a Friday or Saturday night.

Maybe I expected less? The food was good and the portions VERY generous. (Almost too much?) Chicken thumbs clearly house made. Worth a lunchtime journey. The bartender was very sweet and attentive.

Didn't know this spot turns into a night club full of Beautiful woman and Great Bartenders Tons of space and a lot of variety when it comes to great people of Pittsburgh

We were in town for a quick trip from Ohio. We had just finished visiting the Museum, and were tired and very hungry. The pretzel appetizer was awesome. So very good. My son enjoyed his chili and buffalo chicken sandwich, he gave both rave reviews. Our service was fabulous. We loved it!

My personal go-to bar in Southside. They recently renovated, so the first floor is a lot nicer and easier to get around, and they added a fourth floor upstairs with another bar that will clear out some of the people-traffic from downstairs. Great upgrades and great prices every day of the week. Surprisingly great spot for dinner too.

Of the college bars on Carson street, it is a better one. Decent food. Some what clean building.

Havent been here in a long time. Got to old for south side. Haha. But I had the make your own burger and the cook killed it. I wish all burgers I order were as good as this one. Perfect

This is my personal favorite bar in South Side. I like the third floor the best although the second floor is pretty good too. It has a good mix of people. Usually close to a 50/50 guy to girl ratio. The music is good, some people will dance but you don't have to dance if you don't want to. Often you'll catch the whole bar singing along to songs like Country Roads by John Denver, Friends in Low Places by Garth Brooks, I Love this Bar by Toby Keith, etc. Even after midnight, Yuengling isn't a bad price.

Tips: Go to the line that wraps around the corner to get in faster, unless the other line looks substantially shorter. Hook a sharp right immediately once entering the doors go up the steps, across the balcony down the steps and up the next set of steps to your right to get to the third floor much quicker than pushing through the first floor crowd.

I love this place. Felt like a local spot and if you go there, PLEASE check out the windows. So cool! The multi level seating was different, at least for me. Very nice staff, and a good crowd even on a Sunday early evening.

One of my favorite bars in the southside. I love to sit in the upper level because it is like a loft where you can view the bottom floor. The service here is wonderful and their food is great. It has great prices for the location too!

Came to have a beer or two and just chill on a Sunday. Phenomenal service, attentiveness, & personality by Madison who basically was the reason we stayed longer than planned. She even got us our specialty shots that nobody normally knows how to make at other bars!
