Burns Patrick DPM

Dr. Patrick Raymond Burns is a exceptional surgeon. I appreciate Dr. Burns's courage, attention to detail, bedside manner, knowledge, follow up care and just genuinely caring attitude. Dr. Burns nurses and office staff were top notch too. Dr. Burns took on a challenge on my osteoarthritic right ankle that a lot of doctors either didn't know how to do or wouldn't do because of the circumstances. My right ankle was badly damaged in a horrific car accident. After osteoarthritis set in really bad and I was approved for a total ankle replacement but I wanted to go in a different direction. I wanted to save my ankle and give my body a chance to heal it. I owe tons of gratitude for Dr. Burns for doing an operation that others seemed afraid of doing. I'm not going to gloss over the fact that it's a difficult surgery to have that's why it's not in the mainstream community and why it's really hard to find a doctor with knowledge of how to do it. If it puts off total ankle replacement even for 5 years it will be well worth it. This is all due to the medical knowledge and courage of Dr. Patrick Raymond Burns.

As a 3 sport athlete in my younger years through college I've been through wear and tear.
Finally at the age of 39 I ruptured my Achilles tendon.

I was horrified of the stories of recovery and rehab.

Dr Byrnes instilled not only confidence but a sense of security.

After only 2 SHORT months after surgery I am able to get back to my family and live my life which I did not anticipate for at least another 4 months.

I have known Doctor Patrick Burns , since about August of 2010, he is one hell of a gentleman and an outstanding doctor, and UPMC is going to be that much smaller for allowing him to get away.

Dr. Burns has helped my son twice with partial toe amputations and did wonderful work and follow!wonderful.

Dr Burns operated twice on my feet and did an excellent job. I would highly recommend him.

I was referred by my doctor. After rescheduling 2 appointments I was seen not by Dr Burns but a resident. She proceeded to cut my toe nails then proceeded to remove ingrown nails. The first was excruciating pain to which she showed no empathy or concern for the pain I was in which caused me to lift out of the chair add to that she cut me and still continued without any concern. She cut the other nail at a severe angle. She put bandaids on both toes told me to return to the clinic in 3 months to have my nails cut and with the same uncaring attitude walked out.
After reading the wonderful comments on Dr Burns I was extremely disappointed and will not return to receive that type of treatment again.
