Apollo Cafe

My first trip to Pittsburgh and looking for breakfast I come upon this little cafe On Forbes Ave. A charming little nook open Monday-Friday and only for breakfast and lunch. They only accept cash so have some handy or use the ATM that is will be directly behind you when placing your order. The nicest, friendliest staff and great food. For the breakfast and lunch rush the have an upstairs area otherwise you are on the main floor. Prices are very reasonable as they cater to their many regulars at the courthouse and nearby businesses ( this means you won't get shafted by tourist prices). I opted for the Western Omelette with potatoes, toast, and tea that cost $10.95 and worth every penny. Definitely making the stop on any return trips.

We loved this little gem. The food was cooked deliciously! The prices are great and seems like the best diner option in the area. I would one hundred percent recommend it!!! Please go.

Loved my reuben, veggie soup and rice pudding were good too. It's a nice little lunch place and pretty cheap too. Cash only but there's an atm inside.

absolutely delicious food!! the seafood bisque was incredible and the service was very prompt. it was such a cozy environment and i really recommend coming here if you want a cozy meal ^_^

As I walked through the doors to The Apollo Cafe I see "The Best Breakfast in Pittsburgh" catch my eye. The sceptic in me thinks ok let's see if that's right. Blew me away. This unassuming spot delivered! I had been eyeing this location for awhile today was the day. Friendly staff to take your order. If you dine-in like me they give you a number to put on the table and will bring out to you when ready. I had the most mouth watering egg white spinach feta omelette egg with roasted potatoes wheat toast. The potatoes were preboiled then lightly sauteed made crispy, just delightful. Thank you chef! Decaf coffee with friendly refill given. Nice quiet space to enjoy my breakfast. This place is AAA+ for quality food & service. Look at their prices and wonder why you haven't given them a try. CASH ONLY. There is ATM machine handy if you've forgotten cash. I'm adding to my go-to places list. Cheers!

Loved it here! Just a cozy little place that has a delicious breakfast menu. I am glad we chose to go here, I got the western omelet and it was so good!

Great, affordable little place in downtown Pittsburgh. It's cash only, so come prepared. Also prepare yourself for a quick line, every time it's busy. The menu is quick and authentic Greek. I'm a big fan of the tabouleh salad and the stuffed grape leaves. They're Greek staples, but they're particularly flavorful at Apollo Cafe.

The vibe is kind of cafeteria style. You walk in, go through the line and order, carry your tray to the end then pay and seat yourself. The Greek Chicken Salad is filling and the house dressing is just divine!

The table seating is somewhat close quarters and limited. But the overall dining experience is more like a quick, affordable place to grab breakfast or lunch downtown. So it's not uncomfortable for a quick bite. Love this place.

My family visited this cozy dinner and experienced warm service and affordable delicious food. The ladies working here even whipped up a scrambled egg for our child. We were happy to support a local, small business and could see locals attended it frequently. Great spot if you're visiting or live in Pittsburgh for breakfast or lunch. Would definitely return!

Went here for the first time this morning, and ordered my eggs over medium. Apollo Cafe was the first place I'd ever ordered over medium eggs and actually got the over medium eggs I asked for. I was so happy I was nearly moved to tears. I probably should have taken a picture. Either way, breakfast was absolutely perfect.

Small casual place with good omelet, at great price. Highly recommend.

What a hidden gem! If you are in downtown Pittsburgh, you have to give this place a try. Amazing service and the food is terrific. Make sure you have cash for the reasonably priced meal. You will not be disappointed.

Really good food for a cheap price in a downtown area. The amount of food is perfect so you don’t need a doggie bag. The staff is nice and decently quick but only take cash.
