Michael is a genius. He found and corrected problems either overlooked or even caused by other mechanics. And if that's not enough, his pricing is fair, his knowledge is bottomless AND it's great fun to chat with him. He also has an amazing stock of hard-to-find (or even otherwise impossible-to-find) parts, especially Campy bits. Generous with his time and his knowledge and a nice guy, too. Highly recommended!

Came looking for rare/hard to find fixed gear parts, was delighted to see the heaps of awesome treasures Michael has tucked away! Spent hours talking, learning, and looking through beautiful parts. Probably only saw 5% of his inventory as it would take weeks to look at everything. I'll definitely be back! Awesome old school shop.

Twice I took racing bikes with 'problems' other established racing mechanics couldn't fix. "Let me see what I can do" said Michael. A simple turn of his wrench and both problems were fixed for good!
His specialty is custom wheels also, a fine collection of Tubular Tires in stock.

Mike is a master at building wheels. He built them for my bike as well as my wife's bike and they are the most comfortable yet responsive wheels we have ever ridden , both factory and custom made.

I came to Michael Johnson at Wheelfine Imports more or less out of desperation. A broken chain link had destroyed my rear derailleur, and in the process, bent the derailleur hanger into a “J” shape. I tried bending it back, but gave up when it became clear I wouldn’t be able get it back into shape. The usual fix would be to weld on a new hanger, but the frame is a combination Reynolds 535 and graphite composite, and there was a graphite transition very close to the hanger, making welding all but impossible. The frame manufacturer declined to service the frame, and a very reputable bike shop told me that welding wouldn’t be feasible for them. But they did recommend that I bring it to Michael Johnson at Wheelfine and said if anyone can fix it, he’s the one.

So I brought the frame to Wheelfine. He took a quick look at it, put the hanger in a vice, and with deft hands and a good deal of confidence, bent the hanger back to the right shape. He retapped the threads for the derailleur and made the fine adjustment to true the hanger to the plane of the wheel. He let me watch the entire process, and I felt that I was in the presence of a master. The rest of the repair was pretty routine, replace broken spoke, true the wheels, mount and adjust new derailleur and chain. I feel as though I have a brand new bike after almost giving up on it and scraping it for parts.

I would not hesitate to recommend Michael Johnson and Wheelfine to anyone. The depth of his knowledge and skill is incomparable.

Wheelfine is THE place to go if you are serious about cycling. Mike is hands down the best bike mechanic I have ever dealt with. He does good honest work at a very fair price. He can fix things you didn’t even know were wrong with your bike. I had my 1976 masi serviced after having it put together at a local shop. After having mike work on it, it was like a completely different bike. Mike is truly a master with bikes especially the older bikes that others don’t/won’t work on. Could not recommend this shop enough!

After thorough testing of the wheels I can now say they are round! They really are much rounder than the original wheels so I am very happy. Jokes aside, thank you very much for building this great set of wheels for me and handling the whole process of sourcing parts. Onyx hubs are very nice indeed. Michael is a consummate mechanic, and the best Campy expert I've ever known. His willingness to keep a large inventory of Campy parts is legendary. He's also there to support his customers. Many times he has shared his knowledge with me, allowing me to handle mechanical issues on my own. During my racing days he was also there more than once on a Saturday afternoon, fixing a broken shifter or whatnot so I could race the next day. Thumbs up and thank you to Wheelfine!

June 2022: Traveled 900-mi from FL to visit this shop, where we bought our track bikes 21-years ago, before jumping over to T-Town (the Lehigh Valley Velodrome, in Trexlertown, PA).

Wheelfine Imports Pro Bike Shop is the last place in existence that I trust for bike adjustment, repair, fitting, and that carries durable parts that fit and perform. Proprietor Michael apprenticed 45-years ago with master frame builder, Jim Redcay.

At our tune-up, classic wheels built by Michael in 2004 hardly needed truing, he wire-tied and soldered the spokes at the cross for improved wheel rigidity. Who else has skill and patience for such labor today? When my son’s track bike was found to have a cracked wheel bearing retainer locknut, Michael found the part in his inventory, matching the thread pitch.

Wheelfine is a throwback in time in all the best ways describable. It’s was my first time at WheelFine. I saw the Bianchi sign and tried him out. I was extremely happy.

Learned more from Michael just getting a bike tune-up than I learned from YouTube cycling experts and 40 years of riding. Like- my seat was too high, my handle bars were the wrong angle, one of my tires was on backwards, my foot position was off when spinning, washing my bike with water, seat post was gulled up, etc. I’m an engineer and you would think I would know most this. 🤷 Now it’s easier on my back, knees, wrists and increased power.

Mike, the owner of Wheelfine, is the absolute best. He has an amazing selection of beautiful bikes! We have entrusted him with all our needs for about 25 years. We travel about 40 minutes past several other very nearby shops because of his expertise and service. Wheelfine is very special!

QUALITY is all that matters and I unfortunately have learned that the hard way and twice now Michael Johnson of Wheelfine Imports has fixed poor quality work from a prior "Pro" bike shop run by a "racer" who had terrible quality and attitude. I left that shop after one too many poor quality workmanship issues and unprofessional behavior. Michael takes pride in doing the job right. He will replace equipment not fitting to your weight, ride style, category of rider rather than overlook it and leave parts not suited to last. He looks over the full bike and not just the reason your brought it in. His attention to detail is like no one in the business. Get your bars wrapped by him and you will see the difference. Amazing! He takes his time to figure out the problem and works closely with the manufacture of your parts to figure out the issue and solve it properly. He re-laced my MTB wheels and they perform amazingly! If QUALITY matters to you then Michael Johnson should be your mechanic so that your bike performance to it's best it is capable of achieving whether an entry or pro level bike. That is what I feel I Michael has delivered me - QUALITY that leads to great performance! Great work Michael! I don't write many of these.

When I considered having a bike built and tailored to my needs, there was not a second thought that Mike at Wheelfine Imports Pro Shop would be the professional to apply his expertise to see this task through. From the custom made Tommasini frame, wheels, handlebars and more, he planned and implemented a bike that focused on best fit, comfort and performance. The process required lots of discussion and time and attention to details which was never rushed. I have been an avid cyclist for over 35 years. My beautiful vintage Italian bike needed help with some weird bottom bracket and hub issues that the 2 best bike shops near my home couldn’t figure out. I travelled 96 miles one way to Wheelfine as my last hope to find resolution. Michael figured it out and I left the shop an hour later with my bike in perfect working order.

Michael is the REAL DEAL!!! He is incredibly knowledgeable, skilled, and clearly loves what he does. He is also kind and thoughtful. He fixed my bike on the spot so I could ride it on the first beautiful spring day. He loaned me a kickass bike stand (which I subsequently bought from him for a great price) for indoor training when the Shelter in place order went out. I will never go anywhere else for biking needs/purchases.

Best bike shop around. Mike is a great guy and he's very knowledgeable and thorough. I actually have 2 bike shops closer to me, but they're rude on the phone, almost as if they don't want the business. But that's ok I will not go anywhere but wheel fine imports. He tuned up my recumbent trike perfectly.
