McCaffrey's Food Market - New Hope

Ordered 3 custom made birthday cakes from their bakery department. The cakes are beautiful and delicious. The cake designer Karen is very nice and gave me good suggestions. She is the best!

Update: they made beautiful cakes for engagement and bridal shower. Kristen and Miranda are awesome!

Dave Evanik (store manager), Chelsea in deli and all the staff there are WONDERFUL. We feel so fortunate to have a grocery store available to us in New Hope, with such caring, friendly and helpful staff. There is a real sense of community when we shop there that is hard to find these days. Thanks for all you do for us!

The deli has been fantastic! I am always happy with my orders. I would highly recommend a fresh pork roll egg and cheese on hard roll. Omg delicious.

I'm happy to say that they immediately reached out to me regarding my original review where I pointed out some shortcomings. (see original review below) Their manager David met with me and heard me out. He was super friendly and promised me to personally look into the matter and he even gave me a gift card as a token of appreciation for the feedback. I waited a while to see if anything happens before writing this and In all honesty, I must say that they really did something about the matter and made major improvements. I' m so happy to have such a great local market that I visit often and I look forward to shopping there soon.

Original Review:
I've been holding back writing this review for a long time but, today was the last straw. I moved from Princeton to New Hope about a year ago expecting the same level of service as McCaffrey's Princeton but, unfortunately the experience has been nothing like and in fact has been very poor and disturbing. Couple of main issues ... 1) there are several unfriendly and almost rude staff members. Not all but several. However, it seems to be the store's main trait 2) Their prepared food / cold cut dept. closes way ahead of their schedule. They're just anxious to leave work and give you an impression that they just hate to work with no care and respect for the customer. There were times that I was there by 6PM and they had wrapped everything up and were just hanging out in the back chatting, counting the minutes to punch out. God forbid if you have a 9-5 job and have to ask them to make their hands dirty to get you something. Or even worst, got forbid if you have to ask them to slice a roasted chicken in half. They just go mad. Once again not all staff are rude. For example, there is a young girl with a nose piercing who is super professional, caring and respectful but, if you're unlucky you might end up with a guy in his 30 or 40's with a beard and glasses who I think is one of the managers of that department who is just rude and aggressive and hates to work and is ready to punch out. When I asked he blamed staff shortage for closing early. That maybe true to some degree but it seems like they just want to leave asap. It would also be great if the cold cut department is more gentle and neat with laying the slices when slicing, specially with the fine cuts. I hope this review helps other shoppers with their expectations and also the store management to attend and correct these shortcomings. Lets not forget that considering the price level at McCaffrey's, as local shoppers, we expect nothing but quality, professional and a pleasant shopping experience and should not get all tensed up every time we walk into your store or spending time writing long reviews due to negative experiences! Great store with excellent products. Very friendly staff. Excellent seafood counter with many wild caught options. Grass fed meat pre-packaged and at the meat counter. Many items here are less than at Giant. High-end store with competitive prices on every day items. We do 95% of our shopping here.

Thank you for helping me get a special cake for my boyfriend. Kirsten in the cake department is so professional and helpful! Will be getting more cakes here for events in the future!

Very good customer service. I forgot to put my phone number in to get the sales items I purchased. Cutomer service voided my whole order and then rang them up again, all while being pleasant. 😊

I recently had McCaffrey’s of New Hope cater my donut dessert favors for my wedding. I can’t say enough great things about my experience! The donuts were delicious and beautifully decorated using my wedding colors and gold accents. They carefully packaged and delivered the favors to my venue exactly on time and everyone loved them, saying they were “the best donuts they ever had!” Lisa, head of the bakery department, was so helpful, patient and pleasant to work with. McCaffrey’s is so lucky to have her working there as she seems to really enjoy what she does and wants to help everyone. I also miss chatting with her via email :) I will definitely be visiting there again soon and will be using this McCaffrey’s for any other events I will have in the future!

We would go here more often if it was closer, it's one of our favorite spots to not just get groceries but get quick and healthy take out for lunch for the family! Their produce aisle is beautiful, one of the best! Whenevwr we are on this side of the river we are sure to stop for some snacks!

I work across the street and this place is awesome. I’m able to pop in on my lunch break and get pretty much anything I want, and honestly the prices aren’t unreasonable for what you get. The workers at Java Jim’s are so kind and lovely and their coffee is delicious.

Buffet food was of horrible quality. Customer service desk abandoned. When someone showed up, they had no comment card. Waited for them to find a piece of paper. Wrote out polite, informative note, complete with my receipt, name and telephone number. Never received a response! Doesn't the manager want to know what's wrong?! Doesn't the manager want to communicate their customers?! Why would I ever return there?

I am now changing my one-star review to five. Here's why: After posting my negative experience, I almost immediately received a telephone call from the store's new manager. He was sincerely apologetic and very much concerned about my experience-----and told me he most certainly wanted me to remain a customer. The conversation was personal and concerned. I will again be a McCafferty customer.

This past week, I called McCaffrey's in New Hope, PA on my way to a rehearsal for a play I am doing in New Hope -- it was 6:50PM. I had hoped to get a birthday cake to take to the director of the play, but I knew it was later, and there may not be anyone at McCaffrey's bakery. The front desk was good to connect me to the bakery and I was SO LUCKY that "Kirsten" answered the phone!

I explained to Kirsten that I was hoping to have a message decorating the cake and that I would be there in 10 minutes; she assured me she would still be there, and that she would be able to decorate the cake with the message. Not only was she still there, but Kirsten did AN AMAZING JOB decorating the cake with the message - a long message that I was sure would not fit!

Thank you to Kirsten - you ROCK! And thank you to McCaffrey's for hiring and retaining really wonderful staff!!

wonderful market; great fresh quality, the seafood is absolutely amazing. I couldn't be happier to have this in my community. Departmental staff is always pleasant and helpful, glad you're there. Special shout-out to Ched Roberts in the Prepared Foods Department. More than once, he has gone above and beyond the call of duty to assist me !

Five Star market. Best supermarket in the area, bar none. Great high quality products, fantastic customer service, tasteful decor, and competitive prices. Shame on the jerks who couldn't give them 5 stars. If you're not going there, there's clearly something wrong with you.

What an exquisite, upscale, delightful place to shop. To enter you walk through a flower shop, which appeals to and awakens your senses, setting the stage for what's to come. It's every bit and more a Wegman's experience, though smaller in scale and probably more attractive with a happier and more helpful staff. I prefer the seafood and meat sections, finding both departments offering even better fresher quality. I'm not a price shopper, so I'm of little help there, but if you don't visit McCaffrey's, you're depriving yourself of an exciting new life experience. It's that different. Go. It's a must see for yourself.

What a fabulous grocery store with the greatest employees! I started shopping there because it has a great selection of produce, and meats. Every single employee is friendly and helpful, especially Lesha who found an error on my order last week. She knew instinctively that the size of my order and the amount due were off and took the time to find the error! She is extremely good at her job, and one of the reasons I return. It is always a pleasure to shop in this store.

A Wonderful place to work. True teamwork. It's refreshing coming to work day in and day out and seeing people actually care about certain hardships you may go through. If you are looking for those hard to find items that your local big grocery store won't carry? Shop McCaffrey's Food Market. Produce, Seafood, Meat, Deli are all top notch quality foods.

The new market in New Hope is what we've been waiting for. The people are friendly, there's a beautiful selection of produce, fresh baked goods and prepared foods. Products are arranged for easy browsing, simplifying shopping. My only concern is selection. Given the smaller size of the store, they naturally have to stock fewer products than a mega market. Hopefully, they are open to suggestions for additional products. For example, I couldn't find any decaf coffee beans except for at the coffee shop. Flavored creamers needs additional choices of no-sugar options. But overall, I love the store and it will be my primary market.

Very nice store and a needed addition to the mediocre options for grocery shopping in the Lambertville New Hope area. The store doesn't seem quite as big as other locations I've visited, but it was well-stocked and easy to navigate. I'm disappointed in the coffee selection, as it's the same big chain stuff available elsewhere. Starbucks, Peet's, etc. We need someone to work on a curated selection of local roasts.

The staff is exceedingly friendly which is a breath of fresh air compared with the local competition.

Update: had time today to walk around, truly an amazing store. Perfect size.. I was looking at a cake in the bakery and the baker came out to ask me if I had any questions. While walking near the cheeses, the manager came out and also asked if I needed help.

1/15, I visited quickly yesterday for coffee. Beautiful store! I ended up having a great convo with the coffee barrista. She knew her coffee and I bought a pound of decaf. Unlike the giant, the staff was so friendly and said Hello first! I'll update when I walk around tomorrow .. Thank you for coming to New Hope👍
