I've been a patient here for over 10 years. The best providers, nurses, cna, lab personnel, room service and cafeteria staff EVERYONE here is amazing. I am so grateful for their outstanding service. I had delivered 2 of my children here, I had surgical procedures done here and been at the ER several times and my experience has always been smooth. Outstanding compassionate service. The night shift staff is so patient despite being on during such difficult shift. Covid has changed the world and individuals have different experiences depending on their specific situation; I am eternally grateful. I recommend this place.

Last evening I went to the ER, my BP was through the roof, I was really scared, I wasn't feeling right all day, literally thought I had had a heart attack. When we arrived the place was packed, the greeter/interpreter was patient and smiled and said there will be a 9 hr wait. I was panicking on the inside. I registered. Within 15 minutes, a very patient, professional young man gave me an EKG. In less than 15 more minutes after my test was read, I was called back to speak to a nurse named Niccole, she was just as patient and caring. Eased my stressed and paniking mind. I just can't thank her and the entire staff enough for their guidance, professionalism and knowledge. Niccole was definitely my angel last night. In the midst of all the people in the ER yesterday, the staff worked like a well oiled machine to take care of all of us.
Thankyou

I was recently visiting in Reading Pa from NYC and suddenly became very Ill. I was hesitant about going to a hospital far from home especially being transplant patient but I could not return home in that condition. Immediately upon entering St. Joseph’s ER Department I noticed a very attentive staff, clean environment and not an over crowded waiting room. After minimal wait time I was taken into ER for treatment. I was treated by ER staff efficiently and in a timely manor. When I was informed I needed to be admitted for observation I immediately worried because of my transplant meds and hospitals experience with transplant patients. Dr’s and nurses were very knowledgeable and attentive from the start. Staff was able to get my meds easily and quickly if they didn’t have them in house. Nurses and staff were very pleasant, informative and took care of all my health needs. I am always a hard needle stick but phlebotomists made it look so easy by their well trained staff. I was very happy with the care I received at St Jospeh. My stay there made me feel at ease from the moment I arrived to the moment I was discharged.

This review is for the ER nurse Camille! If your reading this just wanted to say thank you for taking good care of my father who went under a diabetic HHNC, this was a scary and new experience for my father and our family. Like I told you that night, you are an amazing nurse thank you for the immediate, well care you gave my dad! Also thank you for giving me comfort through a difficult moment and reassuring me all will be fine and educating me on his health. Eres una bendicion y gran enfermera, God bless you!

Received quality care in the ER. It was very busy but the staff stayed attentive to me the whole time. Dr DiFranco found the cause of my pain and treated me accordingly.

I was just reading the reviews left by others. Most of them sound very one-sided. My wife and I have been going there for the past 10 years and they saw her through several heart surgeries and two times cancer and hospice care. There are some things we could complain about, but the positives far outweigh the negatives. Are they perfect? No! do they make mistakes? Yes! Don't we all?

Was there recently with my mom. Wait time was long but they were very busy so it was understandable. We were helped numerous times by a CNA named Erica. She was obviously very busy but extremely pleasant and helpful and made sure that my mom didn’t feel like a bother when she needed help. I was grateful for her patience and attentiveness while assisting my mother to make sure she didn’t fall. Other nursing staff we encountered were also nice and polite given how hectic the day seemed for them.

My wife fell going into our sunroom. She is on zeralto and had a pacemaker put in 3 months before now. I called the ambulance and we arrived to the hospital and my wife had room in emergency within 10 minutes. She was treated by various medical personnel but one nurse stood out more than anyone else her name was Kirsten. Kirsten went out of her way to make my wife comfortable and answered any question we had. Thank God there're nurses like Kirsten in this crazy world. Penn State hospital should be thankfull to have her on their nursing staff..

I can not say enough about the staff here! My mom is receiving hospice care here during her final days, and the nurses and doctors have gone above and beyond to make sure she is comfortable and as pain free as possible. They have been very supportive to my family as we ride an emotional roller coaster. We just wanted to say thank you and tell you that all of your efforts are appreciated! You have made us feel welcome all hours of the day and night! God bless you all!

The first time I took my daughter to the emergency room 2 years ago it was a terrible experience and the doctor made me feel dumb for bringing her for a fever (I was a first time mom and it was a weekend). Fast forward to 2019 & 2020 I have nothing but good things to say. I took my second daughter to the emergency room for a fever again and the physician there was so kind and understanding. Specifically, I want to recognize the Labor & Delivery unit. Since my first daughter in 2017, up until my recent birth this year, they have always been phenomenal. I love all of my nurses and how kind and helpful they are. Most importantly, they are very knowledgeable and AMAZING at what they do. I trust them and they take care of you and make sure you are treated well personally and medically. I especially love the midwives. I was delivered twice by a midwife and once by a doctor. They were all great experiences and I wish more mothers would consider St. Joes for the birth of their child rather than any surrounding hospital.

I spent most of the past week in St. Joe's for an unexpected heart issue. The care could not have been better. Everyone from the nurses to the nurse practitioners to the lab technicians to the doctors explained every detail of my treatment and made me feel confident that I was in good hands. My condition was complicated and it took multiple tests to nail down the problem. My wife and I were fully informed as to why tests were being done and how the results would steer the treatment program. While I don't wish this heart problem on anyone, St. Joe's made me feel as though everything was going to be ok. Thank you everyone!

I recently received a double mastectomy surgery and was transfered to the pediatric unit to recover. The nurses there were absolutely caring and compassionate. The hospital food was decent too. But most importantly they never allowed me to be in pain long. So I thank them dearly for all they do.

I was sent for MRI for injured leg. They treated me like royalty. Despite a cold, windy, rainy day, I used the valet who greeted me and brought a wheelchair to my car and took me inside. The receptionist took me to radiology. Though packed with people, the wait was short and everyone was moving rapidly to make everyone comfortable. The registrar came and knelt to my wheelchair to register. Then a nice young blond girl took me for the test. Afterwards, I was wheeled back to the valet. I could not say enough good things about everyone !! Also the place was spotless and the MRI was quiet and not the horrible loud one at Reading hospital.

The emergency room staff is great! There was a little bit of a wait time but not nearly as bad as the tower health. The emergency room physicians was great. Along with all of the supportive staff such as x-ray, lab, MRI.
Thank you all again for such great service! I also wanna mention that your billing department is great in regards to communication and knowing what they're doing!

I had spinal fusion surgery 2 weeks ago. Had to stay for two nights. Every nurse I saw was pleasant and nurturing. This was a very grueling experience for me so to be with people who took the time from check in, the being admitted, blood work, anesthesia, recovery, and my room, I was very fortunate. Thank you for making a very rough time as pleasant as it could be.

The entire staff we encountered were awesome! Had they not taken the time to look into my son a little deeper when initial checks came back good, they would have sent my son home like reading hospital did a month and a half back when reading said my son is fine! Thankfully today we are at Penn state Hershey getting the care my son needs! Thanks to this hospital's amazing staff doing a thorough job!

Absolutely one of the best hospitals we've ever been to. We were traveling from out of state and our daughter had a seizure, her 1st ever. The staff there was amazing! From security, to triage, to the E.R. nurses & doctors, and the Cat Scan Tech. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They were very patient with us & explained everything in a precise manner and answered all of our questions and concerns. Everything ran smoothly and and our stay was short. We would DEFINITELY recommend this hospital to anyone! ♡♡♡♡♡
