Horner Cemetery

The first cemetery in the Lehigh Valley, and on the site of the first organized settlement. The first burial was in 1728. It is primarily Scotch Irish immigrants who settled on the banks of the Catasaqua creek, and who fought against the Lenape during the French and Indian War at Fort Ralston (aka. Brown's Fort). The settlers eventually settled the towns of Bath, Weaversville, Clyde, and Chapman Quarries.

I came here to learn about the graves as well as look for any old trash (cool bottles!) nearby.

Graves of many who lived in the "Irish Settlement" (Scots-Irish) including settler and direct ancestor John McNair and Christiana Walker. Well worth a visit for genealogists, but do check in with the church first before visiting. They have done a great job of preserving the cemetery.
