Yes! Italian cookies that are fresh, crisp, and delicious! This one is a must stop. Next time I’m trying a slice of one of their many cake offerings.
The staff was very friendly and helpful as I picked out one cookie from each that I wanted to try.

I ordered a Red Velvet cake for my wife’s birthday and it was excellent! We just moved to the area and I always get her a Red Velvet cake for her birthday and this is the best one we have ever had! I highly recommend this place. Staff was very friendly and helpful also.

I booked a last minute wedding shower cake for my fiancée. They initially said they were full, but sensing the desperation in my voice, they took it on and CRUSHED it. The cappuccino cake was delicious!

It was the hit of the shower. Countless people came up to me asking where I ordered the cake from. I must have heard on repeat, 'I'm not even a cake person but that cake was incredible!' Cake was moist and flavorful. The chocolate chips were a pleasant surprise.

I've ordered cakes from other area bakeries, and this place tops them all!

During a recent Saturday drive in the Plainville, CT. area I had a need to satisfy my sweet tooth, soon to come upon a bakery and Pastry Shop named Mangiafico's on East Main St. it was later in the afternoon, and it looked like they were going to close shop. I asked if the had Zeppoles and they said they did, so I ordered one chocolate and a cookie with a almond pastry ring. They said it would be a minute or so. Little did I know they made my 1 Zeppole fresh on the spot, also threw in the pignoli cookie on the house. My order was small because I am diabetic and this was a special treat for myself.The staff treated me with my small order as if it was a large order. This place has every type of cookie, cake, pastry and biscotti you can imagine. Very friendly and welcoming. Now the important part, the zepole was decadent, rich and not what the Dr. ordered. But hell you only go around once in life..... this is a must stop if you are in the area, fortunately (or not) I live about 40 minutes away or I would be there on a regular basis. Great old school pastry shop, with beautiful delicious cookies, cakes, and pastries. 5 stars all the way

Their ragotta canollies are the best. Also, their guetin free and other cake slices are fantastic. 🍰 yummiest 😋

This the THE place for good Italian cookies! I was in today and bought 4 diferent type - they are better than my Italian grandmothers cookies! I HIGHLY recommend Mangiaficos and I WILL be back!! And the bonus - the owner is so friendly!

I don’t know why anyone buys cakes anywhere else! My daughter bought an Italian rum cake for my anniversary and it was good till the last forkful! She always says the service is impeccable and everyone is incredibly kind. All the cakes and baked goods I’ve had from here are delicious!

The pastries are phenomenal and are some of the best I ever had. I used to go mostly to the other bakery down the road, but not anymore. The prices here are much more reasonable, everything is made on premise and more fresh, and not overly sweet like the other place.
I highly recommend this bakery for pastries!

My daughter’s birthday is today and she usually goes to another bakery (right up the street from you) and wanted a cake from there. I tried calling them twice and no answer so I called Mangiafico’s and ordered the Italian Fruit Cake and my daughter ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT...her words were “THIS CAKE IS THE BOMB”!! She liked it better than the place up the street!! You definitely have a new customer!!!

Sal is a local treasure for Italian cannolis and other baked goods. Though he is retiring and turning over his shop to another well-known Italian bakery Nonni's from Southington, Connecticut, The town of Plainville is in good hands with Nella Lastrina the new owner in training. She is learning all of Sal"s great Italian dessert recipes. Best wishes, Nella! And Happy retirement Sal! Plainville loves you!

You cannot say you don't like something until you try it... Well every single desert item that I have tasted from Mangiafico's Bakery & Pastry Shoppe has been excellent. Typically I'm not a bread eater but since eating fresh baked bread from here, I now crave it. I have never like tiramisu from anywhere... now, I can't have enough of it! The staff is awesome and make me feel very comfortable even if just sitting there for a cup of coffee. I would give more than five stars but since I can't 5 will do! I recommend this place to everyone!

Absolutely the best Italian bakery! The owner Sal is wonderful! We have been customers since he opened his Plainville shop. We now live in Florida & always make sure we stop in when we are in CT to buy items to bring home. If we are craving some of Sal's delicious cookies we call & he is gracious enough to ship us some. Wish he could ship his cannolis & cakes. Stop in you won't be disappointed!!

Love the Sfogliatelle- lots of cheese filing, crispy shell- just like I ate as a kid! Cannoli also full of ricotta filing and delicious! Not overly sweet.
Will go to Mangiafico's again!

Best bakery in the area. Friendly environment, great foods and the Italian specialties are right on. Just as good as those found on Franklin Ave. in Hartford. Thank you Sal and staff for the great job you do. God bless.

We recently moved our office to Plainville and on the advice of our most helpful local banker who raved about the cannolis, we tried it out. Thus began weekly trips there for office visitors, family and friends, ourselves. Their cookies became our holiday gifts, their cakes a favorite of our clients. You cannot enter this lovely place without taking home a bag of goodies to share with family. And the staff, amazing, helpful, pleasant. And voila! Great gluten free cookies!
Worth a trip from anywhere....

They don't have Italian bakeries like this in Vermont where I live. I tripped over Mangiafico's when I needed directions to the local Catholic church. After services returned to load up on Italian cookies and treats to get me back home. I should have bought more anisette biscotti as I had to return to make up for the ones I ate back at the hotel before checking out. This a great place with a friendly staff. And if you need a Sicilian flag they got 'em!
