Maruichi Japanese Food & Deli

A wonderful supermarket that lets me try authentic Japanese foods without having to go to Japan or send away. They have everything you would need in their sushi, snack, pastry, skin care, spice, and merchandise sections of the store. The market is clean and staff are pleasant. The only thing you should know before coming is to bring a refrigerated bag if you want to buy sushi, ice cream, or pastries, they don’t offer them in store and you don’t want your stuff to melt! If you are in West Hartford and you love Japan, stopping here is a must!

The store is small and well stocked. Diverse clientele seemed like they shop here on a regular basis. I will return when I prepare homemade Ramen noodles.

The ready to eat section was very well stocked — a wide variety to choose from. The grocery store is well lit, clean, and very welcoming. The price is a somewhat higher than other Asian grocery store (depends what you’re buying). I noticed that a big sack of rice will be roughly $5-$7 more than another Asian grocer which is fine but a frozen 4 pack of noodles will also be $5 more than another Asian grocer. I would definitely come back because the location is convenient and there’s a good selection. However, I would pick and choose what I buy here.

Really cool place! The sushi is fresh and really good. There's a ton of mushrooms, vegetables, and snacks you can't find anywhere else. Great place if you're in the area and looking for some cool Japanese food.

Excellent Japanese grocery shop for all things Japanese. From drinks to produce to ramen and sushi, this shop has it all! The food is always fresh and tasty. The prices, selection and quality are very good. The staff is always helpful and friendly.

I love this market! So many cute and unique stuff. I bought cute socks, bento box, onigri, and strawberry sandwich. I wish I could buy everything, but it’s a bit expensive.

A lot of Japanese food, ingredients and goods to choose from, some I haven't seen since I was a child! Always great to stop by and grab some ramen as well!
Prices are great as well.

Edit: I've never had a dip in quality, friendliness or anything over the last 2 years or so. When trying ramen at many other places as well, I continue to come back here. I couldn't recommend Maruichi's enough!

I have been looking for a store to get sashimi grade fish, and so happy to find this store! They sell same-day packed salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and Uni with great prices. I bought some salmon, and it was fresh and delicious.

Cooking ingredients? Check! Cute anime toys, stickers, and stuff? Check! And just a really fun little store to Look thru? Also check. Love these little Japanese markets. Fresh made to-go food items 🍱 Kawaii!

Went for the first time on the recommendation of a coworker. Good selection of Japanese products, they had almost everything I was looking for. Got the takoyaki from the refrigerated section which was good, will be going back to try the sushi and bento boxes.

Love love this market! They have all the Asian groceries you could need and also plenty of matcha products as well. Love the selection of desserts as well as boba too.

Our go-to spot for delicious Japanese food. Their grocery store selection is great, but the real star here are their premade bento boxes and onigiri (onigiri is only made on the weekends). So good and worth the price!

Awesome little store with all of your Japanese needs!! From vegetables to prepared foods to dry goods and household items....a great slice of Japan in Connecticut, not to be missed!!

I can’t believe I didn’t check out this place years ago. It reminds me of the Japanese markets in New York City. It was crazy busy. So much to choose from. It had everything I was looking for. I will definitely drive the 40 minutes every two weeks.

Well stocked Japanese mart with delicious food and a good selection of grocery items. Some Korean items can be found, but primarily Japanese food items. There is also a really cute selection of stationary, gatchapon, and other gift-y items! The bento boxes are made fresh each day, so I highly recommend grabbing one!! They also have bread snacks made fresh that are beyond delicious - both individually wrapped as well as bags of bread too. They carry a selection of sushi and sandwhiches that are made fresh too, though I've not purchased these just yet. The aisles are on the smaller side, so be careful when its busy or for those with wheelchairs. Great spot for lunch to go!!

Their pricing is also extremely competitive especially with the other stores around this area. I highly recommend checking them out and getting your Asian items here.
Prepared foods are super tasty. Well priced sushi rolls and bowls and lots of goodies

I enjoy the friendly family service, friendly baristas, the prepared foods like sushi, and the wide selection of made to order drinks. I like iced green tea with ginger flavor and lychee jellies. Bubbles teas and shaved ice are here too. On Saturday they make homemade ramen here.

This place is three businesses in one.

There is a Japanese supermarket with amazing finds. A lot of stuff that you can't find at a dong.

There is a cafe with CHEAP bubble tea and other goodies. All excellent. Highly recommend the blueberry

There is a restaurant serving different types of ramen. We got the chicken tantan men and tonkotsu ramen and they were delicious.

have been going to maruichi since it opened, after staying in tokyo for a bit maruichi has been my lifeline when i’m going through konbini withdrawals. also has about everything you need, and lots of artisanal products. very glad this shop exists!
