First time dining at Materia. We ended up doing 7 course tasting menu. Food was exceptional and waitstaff was even better. Very attentive and friendly. Everything was cooked perfect. Thanks for a great experience and will return for another date night.

Incredible food, maybe the best Italian in CT. Classic flavors with modern touches. I highly recommend this place and the tasting menu. It was a dining experience you would usually need to go to NYC to find, very high quality.

Fantastic experience. Everyone was very courteous, food was exceptional, wine was fantastic, and they were very patient with us bringing my 11 month old son. I will definitely be returning here. Highly recommend.

My husband and I were just blown away by our experience. Incredible food, beautiful atmosphere and top-notch service. This was definitely our best meal of our escape to Litchfield county.

Sea bass crudo was slammin'. One of the most flavorful dishes I've ever eaten. Their bread is solid too, many restaurants mess up homemade bread but Materia's sourdough loaf was tasty, hearty, and made properly. Good crust, I hope the baker sees this message! Thank you chef.

The food and service are top notch. Our server, Justin, was incredibly warm and kind. Very knowledgeable about Italian wines too. The runners were friendly and made polite conversation. Excellent place. The only thing that rubbed me the wrong way was the blonde hostess when my husband and I walked in. She said that there is a reservation after us…I spoke up that we were only five minutes late…It’s just not really something you want to hear when you want a relaxing night out.

We chose the pasta tasting! Please Bear with me - quite possibly, no definitely the most authentic, perfectly executed, synthesis of flavors that one could dream of. @materiaristorante is by far and away a five star experience on so many levels.

My wife and I had our 6 year anniversary here, and it was absolutely spectacular. The hand-crafted cuisine is all either made in-house or locally sourced. They feature a finely selected wine list with some delicious cocktails as well. The attentive service was the cherry on top. We will be back for future anniversaries!

First-rate experience. Service was unfailingly wonderful and enthusiastic. Main courses were superb, especially my friend's grilled lobster. Lots of reasonable choices on the wine list. And the desserts were something else -- panna cotta with black cherries and millefoglie with pistachio cream. If you're anywhere near Bantam, you owe it to yourself to eat here.

The service was quick and efficient and the drinks were strong! The main dining room can be a little cramped depending on where you're sitting, but they make the best Calamari I personally have ever eaten.

Excellent. Wait staff were perfect: attentive but not overbearing, both relaxed and professional. Food was some of the best fine dining I’ve ever had. One of the other reviewers mentioned he was well-traveled and his dinner was in his top three meals he’s ever had, and I’d agree with that sentiment. The bitter greens in the salad weren’t to our taste, but everything else was divine. The lighting was a little bright to be truly ambient (but it says a lot for the place if the only complaint I can make is lighting!) The decor was sophisticated. Even though the restaurant was almost full, including a quite large group seated near us, the tables were well-spaced, and my husband and I were able to easily carry on a conversation. Lovely evening out. We will be back.

Second time at Materia and both times we walked away saying, "that was a fantastic meal." The pastas were flavorful and inventive. The striped bass was a generous portion and impeccably prepared. The dining room is warm and inviting and service was friendly and attentive.

Absolutely wonderful! The perfect place for a birthday celebration we were a group of five …we had the most delicious dinner…lovely friendly service and we were wowed by each course. When we talked about it after we couldn’t think of one course that we didn’t like….we had the whole tasting menu. All in all a huge treat and we couldn’t recommend it more highly. Thank You!!

Staff was exceptional and execution of food fantastic.

Had the pasta tasting menu and everything was amazing! Very generous wine pairing. The service was great and professional but also so down to earth.

Materia is excellent in so many ways. Chef David is a master and the food is superb. While all the dishes are excellent, unique pasta dishes are a clear standout. The service, wine list and now the decor are equally top notch. Materia is a welcome addition to the fine dining experience in Litchfield County.

My husband and I had our wedding dinner here, it was absolutely perfect! Coordinating was effortless, the owners were more than accommodating in making sure we had everything on the menu that we wanted. We were set up in the private dining room, which was secluded from the main dining area. There was plenty of space for our family and friends to feel comfortable. The service was impeccable- we were always paid attention to but were also given privacy to enjoy our celebration. From the appetizers, to the entrees, to the dessert and espresso at the end- we could not have been more satisfied. The food was cooked to perfection! If you are looking for authentic Italian food, with a romantic and classy feel, Materia Ristorante will not disappoint! Thank you so much!

Absolutely fantastic! Amazing food, Amazing drinks ,Outstanding service. My husband and I had the pasta tasting menu. One dish was better than the next. They all were presented as pieces of culinary artwork. Jill the bartender made sure our cocktails were poured to perfection —-she and her coworkers worked so hard - , like a well oiled machine, to make our night perfect! If you are looking for delicious food , great service and an excellent dining experience—- this place is definitely worth it- you will not be disappointed!!! Can’t wait to return!!! Forget to mention it was warm and cozy - very nice ambiance. Although we sat in the lovely bar- the dining room looked beautiful too!!!! Very nicely done!!!!!!!
