Excellent food with interesting and delicious flavors. Everything doesn't taste the same like some Mexican restaurants. The staff is friendly and professional. The prices are reasonable and the food was ready quickly. I would definitely go back.

Up there with the best Mexican food in the state. The margaritas were fantastic and nicely balanced. I recommend the watermelon margarita on a hot day as it is very refreshing. I had the aguachile which is hard to come by and it did not disappoint. Full of flavor and spice and made correctly. The sharing platter has a variety of meat with a good amount of sides to share and make a complete meal out of for 2 maybe even 3 or 4 people. Not pictured are the steak sopes. Think tostadas but with a thicker, slightly softer tortilla. Everything was seasoned well and the contrast of lettuce and sour cream with the meat and earthiness of the tortilla made for a great textural experience. For dessert I had the affogato which came with a mini cantirita of tequila to pour into the espresso and ice cream. Very good way to end a meal. Frida does Mexican food right and I waited to come back a 2nd time before I made this review. This is my go to spot when I am in the area and I'll always bring family.

A favorite spot to hit up before a day of shopping. Good food and great drinks, service is top notch. The sopa de tortilla was a good meal starter. Followed by the Baja fish tacos with fluffy white rice. We also had carne asada with nopales, beans and rice, chicken quesadillas and camerones de ajo. Huge sharable portions. Doggie bags all around.

My wife convinced me to venture in recently, and I'm glad she did. The food was terrific. I have missed the birria tacos since the day we had them! If I was closer, I might have a problem eating here so much!! A must try and try again!

My husband, best friend and I went to Frida last evening for my birthday. We were greeted by a friendly host and we’re immediately seated in a comfy booth. The freshly hot chips and homemade salsa were put in the table as we sat down, and our water stayed full the entire time. The friendly server Guadaloupe was attentive for our entire visit and made great recommendations. We had appetizers, meals, cocktails and dessert, all of which were prepared perfectly, and with so much flavor! The food and drinks are outstanding. We had an awesome time and will definitely be back. The decor is awesome too! 🌹☠🖤🖤

Ever since moving here from Texas we’ve been looking for good Mexican food. It is rare to find a place with authentic “sazón” but this place makes the cut. Being of Hispanic descent, we tend to be pretty picky about Mexican food but it was excellent. Their bar is well stocked too and the drinks were on the money. The atmosphere is a bit crowded but I would expect that from a place that’s as good as this. The owner stopped in to say hello, chatted a bit and really made us feel welcome. We’ll definitely be back and likely make this one of our regular spots.

Wifey and I had date night and loved this authentic Mexican restaurant! The margaritas were very well made and in my eyes perfect. I ordered the steak which was very tasty and juice. The beans and rice that came with were done fresh and tasty. We are very impressed with the food and the service...Grade A and was awesome. Thank you for a great dinner, next time we are bringing our shorties!

Those watermelon margaritas were off the hook!!!

Frida is small in size but not in flavor or hospitality!!!
From the Margaritas in sangrias to the cake at the end. Everything was amazing.
We started off with housemaid salsa and fresh guacamole and chips.

Then they brought out empanadas, I was very lucky to get all three of them they had chicken, beef and the cheese! Which are all gluten free which made me very happy!

Up next was frida ceviche which has, shrimp, octopus, fish, red onions, cucumber, cilantro, jalapenos, lime, avocado

We have two types of tacos which I had beef for choice of meat.

I came here alone on a whim. Best choice I made. Food is fantastic and the service was too. Let’s not forget the drinks. You get courtesy chips and salsa as you wait for your meal and the drinks were made to perfection. I ordered a (or 3) margarita picante and they were perfect. Ms. Kerra thank you!

If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, stop into Frida Mexican Cuisine. The menu remains me of the restaurants in Mexico and the tacos were exactly the same in taste and quality. The owners are wonderful people and will spend time talking with you if you have questions.

OMG!!!! This place, sooooo good! Hidden Gem. The service and food was AMAZING. My friend and I had chicken tacos, rice and beans and ordered the loaded fries and chicken chimichanga. She also had a mango margarita which she loved and buzzed off just one glass. Very good pricing too. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED SPOT, MUST TRY!!! 10/10

I only recently heard of Frida before I visited for lunch this past weekend, and I can’t believe more people aren’t talking about it! This is such a cute hidden gem in West Hartford. The murals dedicated to Frida Khalo were absolutely beautiful and really stood out. The watermelon mocktail was super refreshing, but when the staff noticed I was going to leave with some still in my glass, they offered to get me a to-go cup, which I thought was so sweet! My boyfriend had a mezcal flight, and we thought it was so cute that they came in little pots. The Colombian style empanadas tasted great - I’ve never had this style of empanada before, but they were mostly filled with potato. Homemade tomatillo and habanero sauces made for a great pairing with these. The queso dip was phenomenal because it had just the right of jalapeño mixed in for flavor, but it wasn’t overly spicy. For my meal, I ordered the Gringa off of the tortillas section. I chose this because I thought pineapple, pastor meat, and cheese were an interesting combination, and it definitely was, so much so that it almost reminded me of apple pie! My boyfriend’s platter of steak and shrimp was delicious, and we loved the rice and refried beans on the side. Our servers were extremely attentive with refilling water and making sure we had everything we needed. Such a great experience!

Such a wonderful place. Very quite and a lovely place. The service was really good. Our server took the time to explain to us ingredients in dishes we were interested in. Many options and customizations available for various dietary preferences. A must go. It's a rarity in West Hartford- good food and service with very nominal prices. I will be returning with friends and family.

This place is an amazing local gem for authentic Mexican food and cocktails. The service is impeccable, our server had answers to every question (the menu is expansive with a lot of sauces and whatnot). They’ve even got four draft beer lines, most of them CT beefs. They’re very on top of keeping your water glass filled, I really appreciate that. Fully recommend!!

Loved the food and the atmosphere. I like to go to a mexican place where it actually feels authentic, down to the music. The shrimp burrito was so good! Their queso fundido was delicious. Our server was serious, but diligent and fast.
Will visit again, definitely.

Love this gem in West Hartford! Went to lunch here with family, and I had al pastor enchiladas with green sauce - amazing!
The atmosphere is lovely with the Frida Kahlo theme. The service was prompt and efficient. A strong recommendation if you are in the Elmwood area.
