Not only does dad’s have gas, they have a good selection of hand tools, power tools, tractor attachments and other odds and ends that I may need to keep my trucks, tractors, and shop going. Ben, Watson, and all the staff always take the time to help me find a product or cobble something together to make my odd projects work!

Needed some propane fittings, the staff was very knowledgeable and got me the right parts.Great place

Basically if they don't have it, you won't find it locally. Just try not to buy all kinds of stuff while you're in there.

I rarely write reviews… but today I feel that I should… having just phoned Dad’s-4-By in St Johnsbury, VT.
Every time I go into ‘Dad’s’ I come away feeling tons happier than before I went in!
The staff there are really happy and welcoming… they’re friendly, helpful, kind and knowledgeable.
The range of products, parts, tools, gadgets, machinery and equipment etc the store has… is excellent… and, their prices are extremely fair. They go out of their way to assist their customers in getting what they need.
*Basically, I just want them to know how good it is (these days) to find honest, decent, kind, happy, helpful folks all working hard at making a customer’s needs and experience the best!!

This is one of my favorite stores. Prices and options are great. You can count on seeing familiar faces they are efficient knowing the stores contents, product knowledge, and will actually ask if you need help finding items and guide you there. Traits hard to find in many other places these days!!

I love this place! Great customer service and they always have what I need. And don't forget, you can get dry ice there.

I bought a fransgard winch here yesterday. These guys are really cool. They treated my dog really well. I had issues with my card not going thru on a large payment and they handled it great and I was able to sort it out. They have most everything you need, good selection of fittings, taps, chains, hose clamps, etc. lot of random bits that other stores always seem to lack. Good price on chainsaw chains. Also seemed to supply a lot of pellet and propane fuel. Really tight ship with chill people thanks

Very knowledgeable. Thought of things I wouldn't have. Wanted me to have the right piece of equipment for my application, not just the highest priced. Had what I was looking for in stock. Not just looking for a sale. Wanted customer to be pleased with purchase.

Ben and his crew go out of there way to make sure you get what ever you need, I don't care what it is. They make you feel like it was when you went with your father to a hardware store! It's all about the customer not about the price! It truly is a family business.

Outstanding helpful fellow at the counter. Needed some led tail lights helped to test the function and brightness of the lights to insure the light would work on my application. Above and beyond the average store keep. Thanks for all your help.

Their selection of specialty products, within each respective industry such as propane installation, welding, trailer and towing accessories, is not found anywhere else under one roof.

While other retailers would be saying "I can order that for next week", Dad's 4 By would say "Yeah it's down aisle 3 next to the widgets"...

Other than the diversity of their inventory, they have without question the lowest price for propane bottles and bottle refills.
