Central Cafe

Omgosh, I never even bothered looking into this place until recently. Food was mouthwatering delicious. Everything was made fresh and lots of options for coffee/tea. Service was a little slow at the time, seemed like a new cashier that missed many things on the order and had to repeat several times. Waited a good amount for the food as well, but once it was brought out, it was worth the stop. Very interesting indoor seating and dog friendly with their outdoor seating.

This is a great cafe for brunch, lunch, and dinner. I love dropping by to pick up a scone and tea or coming with family for a special dinner. The menus rotate monthly, and they're always exceptional thanks to the professional management and cooking from the chef-owner and their staff. The beet salad, maple cheesecake, gluten-free chocolate cake, and homemade macaron were highlights from the dinner menu.

Wow! What a fantastic find, an upscale eatery with social distance indoor seating plus delicious and beautiful food, arranged artfully on your plate. Breakfast brunch and lunch. Eclectic artwork adorns the walls. Seating is varied - nice tables for two, stools/counter area, plus, alcove seating where you can sit on pillows and eat on short round tables. I mean, this place is So Awesome! We are so glad we found it, we will definately be back.

Charming little cafe with a great interior space and cozy seating areas. I love how the chef walks out with the food, and the coffee is good — I love how it comes out extra hot.

Nice ambiance inside and the menu options are good. In general they do a nice job being a trendy local cafe for work or relaxation.

If you are in VT and want THE BEST Coffee and Brunch that you will ever have, this is the place to go. Great ambiance, AH-MAZING food and a great cup of coffee (this coming from a Puertorrican coffee addict) it was so good had to buy a bag to take home...Oh and did I mention nice relaxing music and fresh baked pastries? Yup, this place is a hidden gem that everyone should discover!

Great food and atmosphere! Had the breakfast glory crepe and a Chocolat croissant. The crepe was delicious and very healthy. Amazing! Also got the dark roast coffee beans. Very good thanks!

Visited St Johnsbury for a few nights and this place was AMAZING we had to come back a second time in a row for breakfast. From the food and environment of the place to the people. Highly recommend for anyone going through the town.

Had a delicious breakfast sandwich salad and coffee. Great presentation and atmosphere. Hope for success for this cafe.

Stopped in here on our way to Jay Peak in November. Was thinking they'd be closing soon so was going to order and take it to go. Turns out they were open longer that day. No wait to order, staff was friendly and efficient. There were some pricier dinner options but we chose some less expensive item. Food came quickly. My son and I enjoyed the unique seating! The food was kust delicious. I ordered a sandwich with tomato, mozzarella, spinach, and pesto. My son had the Caesar Salad with chicken
. Both were fresh and hit the spot for our early dinner. Spent around 40 after tip just for food. Given current economy, it is expected. I am glad we stopped there.

Definitely worth the visit. Excellent food the owners take pride in their food and drinks as well. Great service.

Wow, delicious, healthy and filling bowls for an affordable price. I had the Malibu bowl which had perfectly poached eggs and tons of veggies - was the perfect brunch. The service was great too. Highly recommend this place!

Wow, this place is amazing! From the presentation to the flavors to the textures, it’s what brunch dreams are made of! It is so fairly priced for the quality of food you get. Everything we tried was delicious. We will definitely be making future trips just to eat here!

We had a little time to scurry away and realized we never go to St. J. We found this little spot and had ordered a couple of sandwiches. I got the shredded chicken with coleslaw and my lady got the turkey. Both sandwiches were amazing (Kate couldn't finish hers). You order your food at the back of the place and they will bring it to you afterwards. Prices were reasonable. We also had one drink with our meal (they have craft beer as well as wine selection). A Hip/Trendy space and the staff was pleasant also. Great spot for people watching in the floor to ceiling front windows.. :)

Such a nice, welcoming cafe with great, modern decor. I got a Kale Chicken Cesar salad. The salad was delicious and fresh with great flavor. The chef said the dressing is made in house. The cafe staff were genuinely friendly. If I'm ever in the area again I will come back to Cafe Central!

Very cool place, healthy food options and delicious croissants, also loved the coffee. I also loked the way is decorated, very original, nice vibe.

amazing food amazing staff — get the club sandwich, big portion. Friend got the chicken tacos and was plated beautifully, probably the prettiest tacos I’ve ever seen. He said they were light but amazing! Our new spot whenever we’re in town for sure!

I have been to Central Cafe many times which indicates how much I love this place. For breakfast, lunch, or dinner, they have always exceeded my expectations. From the quality of the food, the meticulous presentation, and the friendly environment, I will continue to return.

This restaurant would do well if it was located in NYC but we are so lucky to have it here in St J!

The food here is some of the best, if not the best, in the entire Northeast Kingdom (NEK). The Brunch will have you drooling. Charming little outdoors space in front, with a cozy atmosphere inside. A trendy cafe that does a great job at keeping downtown St. Johnsbury feeling like a downtown.

Central Cafe was recommended to us by a local and we checked it out for a late lunch. The sandwiches were excellent and really enjoyed a sweet rhubarb iced tea. The guys there were great and its a very comfy atmosphere.

This is a very cute little cafe on a cute street. The food is tasty and the ambiance is nice. There is some good outdoor seating, or if you feel comfortable indoors there are separated little alcoves where you take off your shoes and sit at low tables. (But I think out doors is best during the pandemic as long as the weather permits.) I hope I can go back someday.
