Sweet Basil Cafe & Catering

First time eating here. Went for Valentines Day. Drinks were great. Lobster Bisque was wonderful. Both of our entrees were delicious, and desserts were fabulous. Very attentive service as well. Will definitely be back again.

Stopped in while traveling through, and boy was this a fabulous surprise! Delicious food (we got the burritos), great prices, and a welcoming hometown feel. Wish we had room to sample the desserts-- they looked wonderful!

Wonderful evening at Sweet Basil. Our server was very friendly and welcoming, the food was incredible and the mango margarita was numéro uno!! Will definitely return!

How does one give 5 stars when only having salad? My wife and I visited Sweet Basil on a Thursday evening on the way to a concert. Taking advice on their site we made a reservation even though we were arriving at 5:30. We arrived (late) to find a restaurant full of patrons with the same idea. Amazingly this restaurant filled completely right at opening and managed to serve every table and out in time for the concert. We were in and out in 45 minutes yet our meal was delicious. Despite the mad rush the service was excellent and thoughtful. I think they have handled this before. We plan a future trip specifically to dine here and have a proper experience.

Lovely little restaurant. We passed through Lyndonville in October on our way to Quebec City, and a local recommended Sweet Basil. It was surprisingly busy for a Wed. evening. We each had one of the specialty bar drinks and an appetizer - the Mediterranean olive plate and the artichoke crostinis. Everything was great. In fact, it was the best food we had on our entire trip - even better than anything we had in Quebec City. Highly recommended!

This place is a gem! Food is delicious, and the service is friendly and quick. I only have one negative thing to say and that is that we ordered two appetizers and three drinks and had a $50 bill. No regrets, but I don't think I'll be able to afford to go here very often.

Delise and her staff catered our wedding 2 weeks ago in VT at the Alerin Barn and they delivered a delicious meal along with service that was A+

The bartenders they brought were fantastic and I had many people say to me how much fun they were. The food was great as well.

Overall I would highly recommend using Sweet Basil's Catering service. You won't be sorry!

Delise and her staff were exceptional at our wedding!! They did our rehearsal & wedding for food and did the bar during our wedding. She is down to earth, will work with what you are looking for, and is truly an amazing individual. Her staff is professional and outgoing ,pleasing everyone's needs!! This is a hidden gem!!! If you are ever in St. Johnsbury you have to stop at the cafe, it's amazing quality of food!!

We've always enjoyed Cafe Sweet Basil and were excited to use Delise to cater our wedding in July 2020. Sadly we had to cancel due to the Covid pandemic and the state restrictions on large gatherings. Delise was empathetic and even though we offered to convert our deposit to credit she instead chose us to give us a full refund - so nice of her!! We'll definitely be keeping her and the Cafe in mind for our future catering needs.

There aren't many restaurants that provide what I call "spiritual food" but Cafe Sweet Basil is one. The flavors and aromas stir me deeply. The food is made with great care and skill from very fresh ingredients. Truly wonderful food. Combine the amazing food with the wonderful atmosphere and people and you have a really special place. We are so lucky to have found Cafe Sweet Basil. I recommend it highly. One of the few "must try" culinary experiences.

Lovely restaurant, delicious fresh food, large portions and very fair prices. If we lived here this would be our go-to place to dine out!

We had quesadillas, coconut shrimp and maple chipotle chicken, chimichangas....delicious ... but the dessert was over the hill...a fresh strawberry Bavarian creamed filled eclair. Excellent meal and the service was great!!!

We come here often...the food never disappoints!!! Good portions...good prices and friendly service...if you're in the area u owe it to yourself to stop in and judge for yourself!!!

Great food, relaxed atmosphere makes for a great place to meet up with friends or a romantic dinner with someone special. Nice menu, vegetarian friendly.

Went there after a long day of riding, the food was awesome for all four of us and so was the service!!!

One thing worth mentioning is that they only take cash or check but there is an ATM a block away.

We will come back for sure!

Best restaurant around- food is delicious and freshly cooked - desserts are to die for and owners and staff are the best. Also love the decor ... casual and eclectic

Delicious food - the salads are divine. Very comfortable - great place to bring several friends to dinner.

We went to Sweet Basil last week for the first time and loved it nice atmosphere great food wonderful people all at a reseanal price we will definitely go back soon

A great selection of amazingly Tasty food. Make sure you check for hours because they are only open certain days of the week.

Easy going atmosphere. Best food in Lyndonville. Reasonable prices. Great drinks and desert:)
